Thanks for the recipe...using locally grown grains are preferred than Quinoa...which is expensive in India. Use millets of all kinds...cracked wheats of all sizes are a better choice...finding what is locally found veggies and grains and seeds is a healthy choice...for the local population in India...fruit salads are more popular than veggie salads or continental style salads...use all the chat masala...Garam masala....chutney podi from the south India for idlis...coconut flakes...coconut chips dried called copra and any kind of nuts. India has a large number of ways you make snacks...salty from lentils..beans...dals and these are great with salads...salt is not added to this. Use all you can find locally ALWAYS!
Mushrooms 🍄 must be lightly blanched and stir fried.for 1 minute as it has a pungent smell ,broccoli too must be blanched.Flax seed lightly pound in a mortar but don't overpress and add to Salad.
You don't necessarily have to exactly follow this particular recipe. There are several cheap healthy foods that you can afford, prepare & eat. Example: Cucumber,curd/yogurt,cabbage,tomatoes,coriander,spinach. These combos are pretty much cheap & are the biggest enemies of cancer & fast/unhealthy ageing. If you can afford carrot & add to it,it's an added advantage. Extra lime or lemon juice would make the salad more powerful.
Silly to promote Quinoa in India. Native alternatives are available so why not use that. This is ok for wealthy urban Indians only. The information about Vit D is very good.
@Dana Chats Quinoa is totally unique . It's like saying don't promote cheddar cheese because you can get paneer . Two totally different food products , with two unique tastes . It is good to try, cook and eat different foods from all over the world . It's not great to have a closed mind and just to eat Indian products. Quinoa is full of protein , easy to cook and very healthy. It is no longer expensive, now it's mass produced. I can buy Quinoa produced in India , in the UK quite cheaply . Also You Tube is worldwide so people from different countries would watch this video not just people in India!
I think kodri would be a good substitute for quinoa. I've heard that it's very healthy, very similar nutritionally to quinoa, and cheap in India. In Gujarati, my Mom calls it kodri, but it is also known as Foxtail Millet, Varai, Varagu, Khododhan, Kodra, Kodon.
Sir koi sasta aur tikau salad btao... Jo sb kha sake aur hmesha k liye kha sake... Master chef aadhe se jada logo ko toh inme jo ingredients daale h voh pta b nh honge kya h... Kuch b mtlb...😂😂😂
Quinoa ki jagah oats dal do. Lal peele shimla mirch ki jageh sirf green capsicum dal do. Basil ab toh common hai agar nahi hai toh tulsi dal do, cherry tomato ko regular tomato se replace kar do, olive oil ki jageh badiya cold pressed kolhu wala sarso tel dal do. Ho gaya
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for your comment blessings to you with respect and honor for your time but we get cheap too ewe need water in our bodies so we need earth foods too to clean up cells small meals are good heal foods to the world respect and honor from Kenya wisdom
Samosa is a snack and not all of eat samosas everyday. Healthier options are good for change n variety too. Substitute with things you have/buy. Skip things you don’t like..it’s simple technics in cooking every moms/grandmamas follow. Most important is using common sense:)
All good except lycopene in tomatoes are much much more if tomatoes are cooked. Second, flaxseeds should be consumed only after grinding otherwise they come out of our body in their original form.
Bhai sabse sasta salad batau? Sirf 5 min mein ban jaata h. Tasty bhi h. Uska sandwich bhi bana sakte hain aur waise bhi khaa sakte hain. Simply chop capsicum, cabbage, beetroot aur carrot ko grate krlo. Chaaho to kheera bhi grate krlo. Aur in sabko ek bowl mein mix krlo. Ab isme thoda dahi daal lo. Upar se salt aur black pepper ya chaat masala daal lo. Sabko mix karo aur khao. It will be so yummy and tasty. Sandwich banana h to isi mixture ko whole wheat bread ya multigrain bread mein laga k non stick pan mein zara sa sek k khaa lo. Chaaho to mixture mein thoda paneer bhi add kr sakte ho. Aur roti mein daal k roll bana k bhi kha sakte ho.
He always make recipe for high standard families. Koi bhi recipes pe itna ingredients dalo ge to wo to delicious hoga hi. Ayese recipes dikhaye jo middle class people bhi afford kar sake
Baaki to theek hai par kacchi brocolli aur bell peppers humse to chabaye nehi jayenge... Is se accha hai samose khake kuch pushups maar lenge aur thoda daur lenge... 😁😁
Comments are pretty unhealthy... I eat such almost daily; most of these are available at our local grocers or home kitchen! Just use what you have & substitute items like quinoa or basil with cilantro or tulsi , sooji, poha; create dishes like these. It saves cooking time and energy and tastes great and makes you feel blissful
Jinke bheje me ghoosa bhara hua hai, unlogoko samjhana bekaar hai. These pathetic dumbs will never understand some easy things. Because, they never even tried learning. Thing will always be extremely big & unaffordable for them, when actually they could've improvise.
Yar, practical point ye hi. Ki 1. It's not quick(washing cutting vegitable, blanching broccoli, and cooking quinoa) 2. It's expensive ( broccoli, quinoa, bell pepper and cheese) 3. What about the leftovers things, we can get each thing for one person we need to buy full and cook only one forth.
I eat sprouts with chopped almond, walnuts, raisins, flax seeds , sesame seeds, coconut oil sprinkled with rock salt & pepper powder. If needed we can also use some raw vegetables with it. Since it is made with locally available ingredients, it's cheap also. Though the recipe shown here is good, it's very costly.
Yaar, hum "samosa" hi theek hain! Life apni tarah se enjoy toh karte hain. Koi gal nahi ki skin glow-shlow kare ya nahi. Thoda jaldi marenge par khate peete jayenge. Agge rub di marzi! Okay hai ji. :-)

Anti inflammatory and anti oxidant are the same thing, dear chef. And cooking broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower makes them safe to consume without thyroid risks, dear doctor. Also, the vitamin d in mushroom is d2, (ergocalciferol) almost useless for humans. And only found in mushrooms exposed to UV light.
I liked that she mentioned the point that Broccoli and those belong to its family like cauliflower are not good for Thyroid patients. We have been avoiding it for past 15 yrs. All are off of our buying list for 15 yrs approx. It helped.
We must appriciate and thanks to God for his fentastic food, rather we go for Pizza and Burger. God as given enough to protect, grow, look smart, and feel happy, without harming others. Enjoy good healthy Vegetarian Food, and Thanks to God 🙏 every time for his blessings.
One packet chips cost around 10 to 20 but this salad cost around I think 100- 150. This is very healthy but not for everyone just because the cost of the salad.
That's the point.....that's y they sell.....as usual.....good health requires some effort and many economical local alternatives are available. No comparison between chips and healthy food. Finally the diseases that chips will eventually bring will be very very costly.
You can follow the same recipe instead of quinoa use daliya/broken wheat/amaranth. No need to follow any fashion in food😄please use daliya/ oil you use regularly. We don’t need to promote quinoa in India..India has vast variety seeds/lentils grains unlike rest of the world.

Protein is not required for our body as it is always said by many people. Once building is ready do we use cement again n again. Like wise protein is building block of our body once body is ready it not required to much only small quantity is required for touch ups.
Can anyone please suggest.. can we put the salad aside and have it after some time. Coz i prepared it and now I am not being able to complete it. Can i put in aside for sometime and have it again after some hours. Should I keep it fridge or outside?
