The RX 6700 is a fantastic 1080p card. I run one of these for a year (XFX brand) and had no issues running anything. I did get a warning from Forza Horizon 5 one time about low memory, but once the shader cache was built it never returned.
Just ordered one for £284.99 after looking at RX 6600's in this price range! Couldn't find any info on this card barring your video, but ordered blind under the assumption that it will fit somewhere between an RX 6650 XT & RX 6700 XT. Thanks for the content, appreciated.
@@scotty6346 Honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw the price. I was just about to pull the trigger on a RX6600 Eagle for the same price, then did one last page refresh 👀. I’m super impressed with performance/temps/power usage so far.
@@this-is-my-youtube-handle Undervolt it mate, I'm still tinkering but ive got mine down to 1050mv and it's getting 2760mhz on the gpu and 2100mhz on the memory! (Samsung memory) 👌
Cheers for the video mate, Got mine from Overclockers a few days ago to replace my Powercolor Red dragon Vega56, I will try your settings out tommorow Liked and subbed! 👍
For most efficiency *** wattage/power/ FPS +couple more then stock *** I use on this card: 1080Volts, min/max 2500/2600 fast memory, power limit +15%, mem 2112 fast timing, runs stable as fck with 130w instead on 160W On Cyberpunk2077, ultra, HD res...with fans almost quiet on custom curve 1450 rpm (42%) temp bellow 70 C cos these fans tend to get noticeable loud over 52%
I have the RX 6700, Sapphire Pulse version with Micron chips memory, it's a very good GPU card for the price. I've OC mine with MPT, less power voltage more clock frequency, not noisy.
Just bought a sapphire pulse radeon rx 6700 last night on Newegg... Only $20 more than the msi mech 6600xt that I almost bought... Can't wait until it gets here 😍
@@alexisxyz7531 I really like it, it's a solid 1440p card for me, but I don't game above 60fps, but I've been really testing it out, temps are great, and it's not super noisy. For my needs, and my old 7700k, I'm happy with it. I can run cyberpunk 1440p, ultra 60 fps all day, and after this video, my temps are beautiful
HI, what do you recommend to buy as a budget card, RX 7600 (and do undervolting to 150w), RX 6700 10gb like in this video (even is 4 year old card) or RTX 4060 ? Thanks for the answer 😊
@@LawrenceTimme Forgot to write, gona use for 1080p gaming and RX 6700 have 2 year warranty and little cheaper and other two have 3 year and little more expensive
I got one aswell Amazing price to performance Best GPU of 2022 Finaly something that we games can buy to use for à long time and be happy with Spending the money on !! PS: I LOVE THE RX 580 SPÉCIAL EDITION its beautiful 😍
@@LawrenceTimme rx 580 is still budget beast, if you underclock it, and overclock it a bit, you can still play alot of games on 1440p low/med....... budget beast
They sale the Sapphire Pulse in the U.S. , but the Sapphire cards only have a single 8 pin connection from what I have seen so far and cost $369.99 USD
You should have lowered the voltage to 980-1000mV and set the max. frequency to 2800 and minimum frequency to 2700. The software raises the voltage offset automatically when you raise clock settings so if you clock higher, your voltage should be set way lower. This allows the card to clock higher but keep power draw down, +250mhz compared to the sorts of clocks you were getting in the end should be doable. With these settings, my card stabilises at 2700 mhz while running Unigine Superposition 4K. With 80% fan speed it stays at a maximum temperature of 70 degrees, which is 47 over ambient here. These chips have way more overclocking potential in them than the voltage limit allows for, which means that you cannot really push it to its limits with just +15%. I already checked wether power play table modding in the BIOS was possible - it's not - RedBIOSEditor doesn't recognise the BIOS of my card.
hello, i have this grahic card too . but, recently its making clickin sound. not really that recent, almost like 2 month or 3 month ago. i have this grahic card for about 7 month now and the clicking noise is loud cant bear it anymore. so do you have this kinda problem too with the power color rx6700 ?
Is it better than 3060 Ti? Are you happy with the card and how would you compare it to the XFX and Sapphire versions? Sorry if I sound like a noob, I've been out for years when it comes to PC hardware, and it's about time to buy a new PC, because I need it for work (I work in Creo), so I'd take something for the long run. Would it be ok to pair this card with something like i5 11400 (preferably i5) or R5 5600?
Hi, it is a little bit slower than 3060ti, the 6700xt is more like the 3060ti performance. I have not used the sapphire or xfx version of this card. I would go well with 5600 or 12400
@@LawrenceTimme Thanks man. I also came across some used rx 6700xt and rtx 3070 (not used for mining) at a very attractive price of around 300 euros, so now I'm in a dilemma, I don't know whether to go for the new rx6700/rtx3060 12gb or the used 3070/6700xt, even though new 6700xt is just 40€ more than non-xt. I'm aware that even weaker cards would be enough for my work, but I'm sure I'll play some games on a 1440p monitor, even though I already have an Xbox.
Ako radis sa creo, uzmi bolje rtx 3070, ili 3060ti, rtx 3060 ne uzimaj jer je slaba ne znaci 12gb vram nista ako ne moze da se iskoristi jer je slaba@@markomarkovic5729
I bought the 12 GB version from Amazon a few days ago for $419 +tx. It fits perfectly in my mini-ITX build in a Cooler Master RC-130-KKN1 Elite case, even with the optical drive bay still inside, with room to spare. Using MSI Afterburner, I was able to change the fan speed to 35% constant, and keep the temperatures down below 40 degC during normal usage. I have a feeling temperatures are gong up to 74 degC playing Halo Infinite multiplayer.
@@LawrenceTimme 35% was good for normal GPU usage but I had to crank the fans all the way to 70% while playing Halo Infinite or it would shoot all the way up to 98 degC. At 70%, I was able to keep temperatures hovering around 72 degC. Halo Infinite is a shitty-ass game that jacks the temperatures up IN THE SEARCH SCREEN when there's nothing happening!
Hey, I bought a BC 2235 for 200$. The seller mods the bios so that it can be used for gaming. Will it affect the performance? Is it the same as normal rx6700?
do you think powercolor is a good brand? I have heard that it is not that great and that in the long run it poses problems. I am undecided whether to buy this card or msi rx 6650 xt mech x2, they have the same price, but I think msi is better for quality
I've got Powercolor 5700xt that have been mining 24/7 since December 2020. They are perfectly fine along with the msi 5700xt and sapphire 5700xt. I wouldn't say they are any worse or better quality than msi, just this is a budget model so it doesn't have a backplate or a huge cooler. The 6700 is quite a bit better than the 6650xt too. Also look for the sapphire 6700 too, although it's normally a bit more.
The fans spin quite fast but I can't hear it over the mining rigs XD. Its probably not the quietest card, however if you undervolt it enough I bet you could make it quieter, use less power and get the same performance. I think tech yes city did a guide on how to do it.
I have TUL RX-6700XT Fighter 12GB. Fan noise is not loud... however after using 2 months for light gaming one of the fans started to rattle very loudly. Also coil whine is huge with this card I had to limit gpu fps to 144 and undervolt and underclock to make it less noticeable. But is still moderate and noticeable. I also had MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X 12G OC. It had absolutely no coil whine while using on same pc.
Hello, I am using the same gpu, however i am scoring 9500 in the graphics score with the exact same overclock. I am unsure of why, i was hoping you might be able to help?
@@LawrenceTimme believe I figured it out, I think it was wallpaper engine in the background. I need to look into it more but it appears that it doesn’t play well with the gpu lol
@@LawrenceTimme It now scores almost 12000 on time spy with the overclock and a 1000 undervolt, so I’d say we’re good. Just a lot of coil whine but that’s to be expected I guess
@UCLKbmentp3bNUSKl3ebFtEw correct. That is the stock power limit and of course being a modern card it always boosts as high as possible using all the power limit I can :)
@@LawrenceTimme I only have one 8 pin connector coming from my PSU, do you think it's safe to use a splitter? Originally a Nvidia RTX 3060 came with this desktop which approximately has the same power draw i believe. Though, the 3060 has just one 8-pin connector.
@@LawrenceTimme Thanks for your answer. I've read about the pcie slot being able to deliver up to 75 watts through the slot. I wonder if the powercolor RX 6700 supports taking energy from the pcie slot. Might be the reason it uses 2 molex connectors in case it does not support taking power from the pcie slot. Is it possible for you to see if it's pulling energy from your pcie slot?
@@svenstekelenburg633 there is no way to tell, but past amd gpus like rx480 have taken power from the pcie slot. They best way to find out would actually be to find a video on a mining channel as they normally do more extensive testing on power consumption. I'd expect it to pull 50-70w from pcie
on th ese new amd cards.. u can just turn memory all the way up . and clock sspeed all the way. up . power limit all the way up. and stress test.. and it will just go as high as they can together. usually memory stays 2-2130 . and for my clockspeed on a 6700 10gb xfx version of the card 2746 is what im hitting with an undervolt of literally 2 percent. lol'
Yes, but you are always power limited unless you have more power tool installed so you still need to check if the extra peak clock speed is translated into more performance. :)
@@imaginariumpictures no idea because the software is inaccurate as we know. It only reports the gpu core power usage on amd cards not the board power like nvidia. It will be between a 6600xt and 6700xt, but nearer to a 6700xt. Tbh using team red miner it should get more mh/s and less power
Is anybody else having trouble with customizing the fan speed curve on this gpu? I do it in the AMD software but after some seconds the previous configuration comes back automatically I saw that it wouldn't pass the 890 rpm even though the fans are capable of running at like 3,000 max but it wouldn't seed them up a bit unless I made the custom fan curve then it'd cool the gpu effectively but it just doesn't save the changes
@@LawrenceTimme I put the card new and then installed the driver in the "automatically detect" mode, it says its the latest version available. I'm going to try uninstall and reinstall again
@@LawrenceTimme Yeah it's so weird, I read about something similar people were experiencing on 2020, in that case the saved fan curve profile would reset after PC was turned on. In my case it's not even necessary to do so for it to not work correctly lol Yes I have MSI Afterburner, that Asus software.. I don't know it maybe should give it a try. I have AI Suite 3 but it's for things on the Motherboard I think, CPU voltages, chassis and CPU fans, etc
@@LawrenceTimme thans! I've flash a powercolor bc2235 (only have hdmi functional, the 3 DisplayPort blocked by bios). With your bios turns fully functional. Thanks
@@LawrenceTimme It is that there is the rx 6700 10gb powercolor but it says that it is 2235 and I think it is something from the mining but I do not know
@@mtunayucer it's faster and cheaper than the 6650XT. I think it was originally intended to be sold for mining only. That's why they only came retail recently after the crypto crash
