Thank you for that comment. It spoke to me very well. I agree and can empathize. I have a long way to go, but I'm learning to pray for the lost and my enemies and to not get riled up at the atrocities they commit. We have the victory and have won. It's a matter of how many lost become saved through our ministries. Praise the Lord.

You will be truly born again when you realize other people have had to keep their cool with you as well. The reason born agains are so often disliked is not their message, it's the way they convey it. First off, these guys didn't even bring one single woman with them. Second, they evangelized improperly -- if you actually read the gospel, Jesus would always start by presenting questions to people, by getting a dialogue going, not by just beating people over the head, proclaiming "I am the Way." I respect these men's sincerity and certainly applaud their devotion to people with disabilities. But they're getting pushback from the female representative because many women are fed up with the millions of men being indifferent to their plight and situations and, on a more banal note, they're violating their time allotment. I've moderated meetings like this and people love to ramble on and on at them, instead of gettng to to the point. It's not that hard to sum up your position. And getting out of Christ's way by being wise in how you present yourself as well as bearing witness is half the battle.

I don’t think he is acting from a pastoral position, I believe he is acting from a position of a pro life advocate, but anyone can do what he does, and many non titled believers should do what he does, it shouldn’t take pastoral staff to stand up for life in the womb, anyone with the conviction should do something similar to what he is doing. Besides This is not specifically a pastors job. Although I do tip My hat to him, job well done. What a great representation of what he stands for, but don’t confuse the work of a pastor with him standing before men about this abortion issue, a pastor is to be a care taker of the word of God and teaching that to his church, if he is a pro life advocate that is his side ministry and applause to him for it, but let’s not confuse his office of pastor as if all pastors should do what he is doing in this type of setting. So true. There are way too many cowering pastors that hide behind an unbiblical concept of love. True love stands for the truth, which is what Apologia did here. "And having done all, to stand" (Eph. 6:13).

I would suggest you go to a different church then. It took me about 4 churches over 2 years to find a pastor like Durbin in Minnesota. (Not saying your church is bad but to say only few is alarming)

I completely agree. In situations and discussions such as these in terms of legislation and bringing forth these issues, the representatives seemed to not want to hear the biblical argument but rather the reality of what they perceive to be true. Almost as if they would be rolling their eyes in their head and saying to Jeff "Alright we get it you're a pastor, but don't mention God or why abortion is wrong fron a biblical perspective let's get real here" But their secular arguments that justify abortion fall apart when you confront their inconsistencies and subjective views. They fail to realize the seriousness of God's truth and might end up paying for it come judgement unless they repent and put their faith in Jesus.

I find the ones question particularly irksome, that a female somehow has a greater understanding of the value of life because she’s female. Of course, they ONLY exalt the opinion of females IF it obeys the narrative. I’ve carried two children. Yes, I understand the value of life. Never was I under any delusion that they weren’t fully human and fully alive. I can testify that no matter what was “wrong” with my children, I would have done what God wanted me to do, carry them, care for them and if needs be, remit them into His care and bury them. The answer to his question about the baby missing organs is simple. You give it the same chance at life as the rest of us. If it is born and shortly dies despite humanity’s best efforts, that is Gods will, not ours, and a cause to mourn temporally, but rejoice in Gods Kingdom as this soul is now in His care. Funny, they don’t ever want to hear from females like me, only those looking for excuses to avoid being “inconvenienced” by an imperfect child.

It was tough listening and engaging the committee's questions without being able to provide thorough support for our position. Unfortunately, this hearing, like most others of its type, is not designed to hash out the concerns then and there. I'm honestly surprised 4 out of 7 of those representatives supported the bill. This is why it is so crucial to put folks on the ballot that will faithfully represent Christian ethics and vote accordingly when legislation like this is brought forward.

How can you be an atheist and deeply pro life and claim to use logic? I’m being earnest, but my question might sound rude and I don’t know how else to word it 😆 If there is no God, and nothing happens after we die, and we are here by accident, then logically there can be no objective truth or morality. Everything is subjective and has no meaning or purpose. “Killing babies in the womb is wrong.” Says who? (in an atheistic worldview). One guy says it’s wrong, one guy says it’s right. Who’s to say which person is right if there is no God? To quote something Jeff Durbin says quite often when talking to people who don’t believe in God but claim things like murder/rape are wrong: “By what standard?”
