great video Tom! I share your love for the Pull up, always have done, always will. I feel that whilst horizontal pulling and horizontal pressing builds that stockiness to the torso and that kind of 'robust' look... the pull up does what those cannot do that well... literally pulls the physique out, pulls out those wings and athletic taper. Unmatched! You got all 3 and that's the holy trinity for a bad ass upper body!..... my 2 cents anyway ;-)
You hit the nail on the head there Matt, pull-ups imo make drastic changes to your physique (from the front and back) adding in some horizontal pulls for the yoke area and you’ve got the complete package there.
Great vid as always! Do you ever experience pain in the triceps long head during pull ups/chin ups? I'm struggling with it and don't how to get past it.
Not personally, sounds like a mobility issue. Tricep long head does get activated with chin ups weirdly enough so try stretching it before your chin ups and see if that helps
@@TomEssTrainz yeah it sounds weird but it's at the bottom of the lift (eccentric) as your hanging I feel pain. It's not the elbow either. Perhaps it's just tight and needs more stretching. Thanks
