I have vegetables at every meal including breakfast. One half my plate is non-starchy vegetables. I am 67, no medications, BMI 21. Get rid of the meat and dairy and be healthy and happy. I did a decade ago and have never been healthier. Dr. Fuhrman speaks the truth.

As a former weight watcher drop out, and refined carb overachiever, I thank Joel fuhrman for teaching the key to a satisfying diet that is within reach and manageable. I’ve never looked back.

Dr. Furhman and WFPB has helped me so much! Fat & sIck most of my life until I got educated Thank goodness for this education on plant based eating. Only wished I'd known this decades ago!

I really “got it” when I started watching Dr. McDougall. The idea that starches are the food that satisfies us and makes us healthy was a game changer, because I found consistent and delicious alternatives to meat. Dr Fuhrman really helped me appreciate the power of micronutrient excellence. Now that I eat the “G-BOMBS” salad once a day, I find that I have no craving for bad food (except cheese.. 😣). I’m thankful for all these wonderful heroes of whole food, plant based eating!

my teen children and I started becoming vegetarian 5 years ago(vegan since last year), I never thought I would lose weight in a gentle way, and for the first time in my 55 years of life, I don’t struggle w weight anymore!!😀😀 I know if I eat more, I can gain weight, but I don’t even feel I need to eat much anymore😄! I automatically became more fond of healthy food and I eat whatever I desire(healthy). it’s amazing!😀😀 and we definitely live w a much better peace of mind not supporting the animal torture. we find it unacceptable now! thank you Joel for sharing, it was a wonderful talk!👍

@24:16 his statements about dysthymia are interesting. When I was suffering with this and bouts of more severe depression and anxiety, nobody said a word about any possible connection to diet. Wish I had known then what I know now.

There is a documentary called "Game Changers" all about this. Simple answer is yes. Protein deficiency is not really a problem even for athletes as long as you get a good balance. Check out Dr Greger's "Daily Dozen" apps.

Commiting suicide with food!! WOW. My mom does of heart attack at 65 yrs. When sorting through her house, I found candy stashed in most drawers, a full size freezer (she lived alone))stuffed with instant meals, ice cream &Cool Whip, and KFC and Burger King bags in the trash. 😰😰 I said then, " she dig her grave with her fork" .

@neofilm
@neofilm 3 года назад
Kelp or dulse granules, seaweed, etc... but if you do ALL your cooking at home and only eat whole foods then use salt with iodine if you don't have heart disease 4 or 5 dashes a day should be totally fine for sodium levels.

It's redefined, processed. Extra virgin may not be as bad but things change when you heat them. I'm about to have a discussion with Dr Mills later today if all goes well and I plan to dig into oil with him a little.

Then why vegetarians still have cancer?
@momcaregiver
@momcaregiver 4 года назад
Consumption is only part of the equation. Our bodies also need to be able to digest, assimilate what we digested, and eliminate not only what we just consumed but all the crap our body has tucked away all these years trying its best to keep our cells healthy and cancer is nothing but a damaged cell. Hope that helps..
@youngkevinsmith
@youngkevinsmith 4 года назад
@@momcaregiver Helps. But then if cancer is a damaged cell, why do vegans get it too? I think that was the original question. Tks
@momcaregiver
@momcaregiver 4 года назад
@@youngkevinsmith Some things we don't have good control over. Our work envirionments, the outside air quality, water at times, to all tbe chemicals we come in contact with say if we like to swim, weld, build things and even our emotions if we are not good at letting things go play a big part through stress. I'm sure there are even more...

If you want to have more information on that subject, google David Sinclair, Ph.D., Harvard professor in genetics. We also get cancer from chemically polluted environments, radiation exposure, and damage to our physiology.
