Try a Dewalt 20v battery. I've clocked my kids at over 12 mph with their peg preogo rzr 900. Our riding lawn mower goes 12 mph, and they were passing me in the yard as I was mowing.

Very nicely done!!!! I too have a 4s lipo, but how do you keep it from draining the Lipo below its minimum voltage while in the quad?

I would use the BMX 14' if it's $4, however a search on Walmart site shows it's $19.94 each!! I used the anti fatigue mat roll instead ($30 for all 4 tires).

Great video. My nice and I modified a ride on top Jeep for our nephew to look like his daddy’s Jeep and the traction on plastic tires is horrible so I was wanting to either change out the tires or add some more tread to it. This looks like a cost effective way to upgrade the tires. Do you recommend just putting the tread on the rear tires or would it be ok to put it on all four tires?

I did this to a Lil' Quad version and the extra strain broke the couplers on both sides of the axle. Want to get him this Kawasaki now but will probably need the same thing to get him up the grassy hill that takes up much of our yard. Any issues with the friction breaking couplers or gears?

Can this be done with a solid tire?

I upgraded my son's Jeep from a 12v to a 20v ...

The tires that come on the car are the tires it was designed to run. Changing tire diameter changes the gear ratio and can burn out motors. Ride-ons don't have a clutch in their gearboxes. They use the spinning tire as a clutch. Adding more traction with rubber or spikes removes the clutch and almost always overheats motors and breaks gears. Picking the right vehicle for your kid includes matching the tires it comes with to the terrain it will be used in. Monster Traction tires on the F150 are really bumpy on pavement. Mustang tires will not get traction easily in dirt. Tires are not interchangeable between vehicles so before you spend your time and money modifying make sure you've got the right foundation. You can't get no action if you ain't got no traction!
