Ms. Sauceda thank you for a better understanding on the question is asking, what the teachers' goal and what are the key words/phrases that we are looking for.
finding the keyword and breaking down the questions definitely helps to focus on exactly what the question is asking. thanks for walking us through that.
Ms. Sauceda I was always told that I were given 5 minutes to answer a question that I would use the first four minutes understanding the question and then the last minute to answer the question. I think you did a great job explaining how to understand the question at hand and differentiating the levels.
The importance of literacy in planning lessons is critical for providing each learner with accommodations that help them be successful in our class. Speaking/writing to me are so important for the learner to show what they have learned.
Excellent information! Thank you Ms. Sauceda, it was very helpful how you mentioned to read each of the questions carefully and to look out for keywords and find what is the question really asking.
Thank you Mrs Sauceda for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. I truly loved the way you isolate key words to eliminate the wrong answers and focus on the right answers that are related to those key words.
Great information on how reading and understanding the question can help you find the correct answer. Like you demonstrated, it did help to translate the wording of the question to where I understand what responses to look for.
Ms. Sauceda, thank you for all the tips you provided. I also like how you pointed out that diverse lessons are not only in the cultural aspect but also making sure that we are making our lessons diverse to the different types of learning styles (tactile, visual, auditory, etc.).
Great video and very helpful! I appreciated how you broke down the questions and explained what I need to be looking for. I liked when you mentioned that it is very important to have procedures and structure in order to have better classroom management. Working with the little ones for the past 2 years, I found this to be very true. I see that it not only makes the classroom run smoother, but it also empowers them to do things on their own.
Hello! I really liked the beginning of the video with the quick sheet because it really helped me. Also, I also really like when you go over the questions and answers because it gives me better tools to think about the questions.
Hi I am Manuel Vera. Thank you for showing me how to breakdown study strategies and how breaking down each question helps find the answer. I really feel more confident in taking the exam with the practice questions provided and you guiding us to the correct answer choice.
I really enjoyed the practice questions being broken down. When it comes to test incorporating a strategy with difficult questions helps. Finding key words in the questions will help me understand what the question is asking.
Great video! I enjoyed how you broke down different parts of the PPR Quick sheet, its very informational. I also like how you teach us to focus on keywords and phrases in the questions and scenarios. That will help me out a lot to eliminate and choose the best response.
When discussing ELL’s I like how BICS was mentioned as a important skill. I am a strong believer that we write how we speak. If we practice with our students how to speak correctly then our students will be able to write correctly. With the PPR Exam we have to use our critical thinking skills and remember to carefully analyze and interpret words designed to trick us. Thank you for your insight and and guidance Ms. Sauceda.
Excellent and extremely useful video! I liked how you clarified what I needed to look for by breaking down the questions. Having structure and processes is crucial for effective classroom management. It helps the classroom operate more smoothly and gives the students more independence.
Rephrasing the question and focusing specifically on what it is asking while making sure the answer contains all of the elements is a very useful test taking strategy.
Currently studying for my content exam, but I love how you break down each question in this tutorial; makes me feel confident that I will be well prepared when it comes to taking the PPR! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I appreciate the effort and info given in these videos. The vocabulary may seem like basic and easy stuff but this video was helpful and cleared up some misconceptions of mine.
I like how you broke down and explain the DynaNotes sheet and gave us a more less level of importance to every section. I also like how we were able to work on sample questions individually and then you broke them down.
1. In this tutorial I learned important strategies to do critical reading in the questions in the PPR exam by paying attention on what the questions is asking and what are the key words to be able to identify the write answer. Also, one of the many important things that I learned is about the wait time for ELLs when they participate in class discussions. That extended time is not much but it provides students with time to think about the question and develop a response, either to the discussion’s comment, to the teacher’s question or a peer's response. As a result, more students may be willing to answer the question and responses or comments may be more thoughtful.
Thank you so much for explaining everything so well and for breaking down each question. It truly helped me understand things that I was having trouble with. I will continue to watch the videos:)
Breaking down the questions by reading critically and highlighting key words really help eliminate answer choices that have connection to the question. This also really helped me choose the correct answer when I actually used the strategy.
The documents were a intimidating to look at at first, but as I was following along with your video and reading it, it made it easier to understand and I didn't get too overwhelmed. - Caleb Pena
Honestly this video helped me out tons. I love how you analyze and break down each question and emphasize what part of the questions we should be focusing on. Definitely watching the rest!
Thank you for the information and tips on how to break down test questions. Knowing how to figure out what the question is asking and what keywords to look out for, are important to keep in mind while taking the test. These are more than helpful test-taking strategies that you provided. Thank you! -Christiane Escandon
Very useful test taking tips, especially getting into the mindset that the test requires critical reading. Keyword, interpret question in your own words and understand what the question is asking.
Before watching this view I thought I had an understanding on the questions. This view showed me that I should not cross out any question until I analyze and evaluate each answer.
I like how breaking down the question makes it easier to understand the question. What is the question asking? What is the goal of the teacher? Key words or phrases
Great video Ms. Sauceda although it is a bit long, as a person with ADHD it took me some time to sit this one down and go through it, nonetheless, the information conveyed here is really important and relevant to pass the exam, definitely critical thinking and key words play an important role to tackle this test down. The one thing I’ve got thrown back was the question about the teacher/principal observation. I was leaning towards option b since where I’m from it is okay to confront and request a revision of the observation, of course in a diplomatic and polite way but after your explanation it make sense option C as the correct answer and I can see some of those cultural professionals differences we can encounter as well in the work environment opposite to what we might be used to.
Amazing information! I really love how we can go over not just the competencies but the questions that are part of the PPR. I pause the video on the question to practice before I hear the answer and it helps so much!
I find it difficult to pull myself away and not reflect on my past experiences in the classroom. However, these videos and tutorials have made me slow down and process better and not go by my past experiences.
For the exam questions, I can see how the wording can be a little difficult. From colleagues that have taken this exam before they have said it is very much like a perfect classroom approach you have to look for the best case scenario, so as you were going over the sample questions it helped me realize my own misconceptions when it came to the classroom.
This was such a great tutoring prep for me! I'm a second year teacher finally getting to take my PPR (due to covid). I'm really trying not to put my emotions and real life experiences into these questions but it is so HARD! I'll be searching for more of these videos!
Eliminating answer choices then identifying why the answer is wrong is very helpful with test taking strategies. Especially when I haven't took a test in a very long time.
Personally, the most helpful information was dissecting the questions and noting the keywords to be able to answer accurately. It is difficult to analyze as sometimes more than one answer choice seems correct. So, being able to identify the key concepts of the scenario and questions does help with your answer choice. Also important is taking the time to review and analyze each question. I need to make sure to take my time and not rush through the questions.
i agree that having procedures for everything including going to the restroom and gathering materials is beneficial especially with younger students in order to train them how to be not only in my classroom, but future classrooms as well.
Very good overview with practice questions, some of them new to me which is good. I must say as I have gone through these videos, analyzing these practice questions has been most helpful and in the case of a few of these new questions, showed me how easy it is to bet five dollars on the wrong answer. :)
