I really do hope so Glenn as it's been dire to say the least, it were great seeing you again hopefully we can catch up again sooner rather than later, clear skies!!
Hi, Looked like a great event, I remember a few of the vendors when buying kit in the past. It kinda struck me just how many products are now made in China, take these away just imagine the product line up!! Hey you'd never believe, Saturday night maybe clear!! but only on the South coast.. I now keep a duster, lens kit, and my Sky at night magazine collection under the scope, it's therapeutic reading, cleaning and fine tuning things helps, ... Atb Tom..
Hi Tom I hope you're well? It were clear Friday before the show but the Moon was bright so never bothered to set up, the Saturday after the show was a pretty busy as after the event had finished I went for an MRI at the hospital so by the time we got back we were both shattered & had an early night. The weekend just gone the skies were quite clear but the ground was sodden so if we'd set up at my other halfs I fear the tripod would have sunk as the ground was absolutely sodden. Of course I get home & it's been cloudy ever since lol.
I sympathize with you about the weather, and the power supply. If my wife sees me buying another power supply or USB cable... The show looked like a nice way to spend the day! CS!
Hey Tich, only just caught up on my watch list mate! was good seeing you & Nicky again! Isnt it funny how things just leap of the counter and into your bag!! It happened to me as well! Mine is also purple!! Lets hope we get some clear skies soon to use these mysterious things!😀
Yeah it's a shame Kettering conference centre closed as it were a good venue & just down the road, although I will say one thing it were a lot cooler at Stoneleigh as I remember Kettering being so hot upstairs. I did think about getting a Redcat but I resisted.
Looked like another fun show. Now, when you say 'jumped into your bag', how on earth did that happen 😂. Hope you get some clear skies soon so we can what was in the bag.
Thanks mate no definitely not another OTA as I have to many of those as it is so lets hope we get a clear sky soon so I can give it a first light, clear skies!!
I'm waiting for this years event at Assen here in Europe, just over the Dutch boarder. Those purple Altair Astro Camera's look nice and the price looks reasonable online. You can repair a linear PS if you want. Most probably changing out the Power Transistors is all thats needed? Would make a good video tich?
I used to do soldering for a living Neil but my eyesight is pretty poor these days & soldering smallish components kinda gets me a bit frustrated lol, I can highly rate the Altair cameras to as both the 269C & 26C have performed very well when I get a chance to use them as the weather here has been pretty awful. I hope the astro event at Assen goes well for you mate & you have a great time there.
