Loved all of those cars. I find that Singer in particular really appealing. Great story about the Escort leading to a career change for it's owner. Nice to see Katie's VW in display as it's definitely one of those cool retro/moderm 80's designs. I've had the pleasure of meeting Katie a few times now and intervened her with this car and one other at FOTU last year. I was actually asked to display my car at this year's show but sadly I seem to be the only person at work this weekend Have a good weekend Steph, hope you are enjoying the show.

Nancy is a sweet little thing, and judging from her interior, a Really Useful Car too. On my way to work in the early 90s, I used to pass a Minor restorer garage at Eastbourne and there were always lots of them in lovely condition for sale on their forecourt - some even as affordable and practical daily drivers, but most to enthusiasts.

Brilliant Steph. Didn't manage to see you for a blether although I did admire the work on your Morris "Nancy". I flew from Glasgow and spent a wonderful day at the show. Too much to see in just one day but what I did see was fabby. One of my favourite cars of the show was the Consul Capri that belongs to Vicky which is just superb. Great video as always and you are looking well.

You have every right to be proud to show your own classic car off, she's looking fabulous and well worth the 2 years wait. Shame I can't be there this weekend but Durham to Birmingham, a show and then back is a hell of a drive for a weekend ☹

Love Nancy as I had a couple of 2 door Minors in the late 80’s, one an ‘E’ reg, the other ‘H’ reg, both in pretty good condition. I would like to think I could drive one again before I hang up my car keys.

Haha. Had to laugh. It might give a bit of a chuckle to the girl to know that in Australia, we know pre facelift mark 3 cortinas AS TC cortinas. The facelift mark3 cortinas we know as TD cortinas. Mark 4 cortinas are TE and mark 5 are tf. All of which were able to be optioned with 4.1 litre 6 cylinder ford falcon engines. They were VERY quick and could be a handful to keep in control if you thought you could Colin McRae the bloody things. They’re affectionately known as lead tipped arrows here. If you ever come to Australia Steph,, see if you can find someone who has a genuine 6 cylinder tc or td cortina and get them to take ya for a squirt down the road in the thing... it’ll throw you in ya seat 👍

Yeah, I paid £200 for the Sprint and I did buy it from a scrapyard…but it was in around 1997!
