This is a practical comparison of two of the best boots on the market. These are road racing and/or high-performance riding boots. Both are excellent, but each has its advantages.

Great comparison! I just wonder, what is considered a narrow foot? It would have been interesting to know your size (length and width of foot) and of course the boot sizes to get an idea. It seems like my feet are narrow... just bought an Alpinestars S-MX-6 but for me it could be slightly more narrow at the toes and even a bit more at the ancle. For reference: My feet are 30.5cm in length and 11cm in width at its widest - Alpinestars 47 (1 size up than regular shoes) fits perfect in length, but like mentioned lacks side-support.

I like the Mag-1 boots.

Thanks for putting this video out! How is the lateral protection on the Mag-1's? I love the fact they do not have any zippers. On my foot, anything with a zipper starts to pinch because I have big feet + small ankles + big calves. I have read some people successfully had their Mag-1's resoled by a cobbler or by the motocross resoling shops.

Sorry for the delayed response here. I had a crash this year on the Alpinestars and it did a great job of sliding. I think to answer your question, the Mag1s are probably equally matched if not a hair better in terms of locking in the ankle so that movement during crashes is minimized.

I just switched from the Mag-1 to the Supertech R's because I had the same issue with the Sidi's being a foot torture device on the pinkie toe. Unfortunately I'm having a really hard time pulling the zipper up past my ankles on the Supertech's, I feel like I'm gonna rip the zipper handle off it. Also, despite being incredible tight at the ankles, the fore-foot feels loose in the front of the boot and there is nothing to strap it down or adjust it with. To be honest, I'm not really impressed with the Supertech's. If you foot matches that of whoever they modeled these off-of (Marquez?), then they seem like they would incredibly comfortable, but for me it's all the wrong size in the wrong places with no adjustments possible. I think I'm sending it back and buying a pair of Sidi Rex Air's ...and a boot stretcher.

Ian Derzsi Your best bet might be the Sidi Vortice. Slightly wider in the forefoot than the Mag-1. But they have the multi-point adjustability.

@@medina23 Thanks for the tip! I just ordered the Sidi Rex (which is basically a newer version of the Vortice) because it doesn't use a zipper up the side, and that was the main issue I had with the Supertech, the zipper not going up past 75% of the way due to the bulky shin guard of my Dainese suit.

Have same issue with my astars pulling zip up I got sidi rex super tight on the pinky toe sent back awaiting on some mag1 in the next size up heard alot people say that's the best thing to do with sidi always get a size bigger
@Uninfluenceable
@Uninfluenceable 4 года назад
@@jamiehowarth3570 Mag1 is even more narrow than the Rex, for me one size up on Mag1 was not enough, with the Rex one size up was perfect. Maybe it was because my new Rex is perforated and stretched better and the Mag1 was solid and did not flex/break-in. I did not like my Mag1 at all, it had very little ankle flex, felt like a cast. Also, if you had trouble zipping up the supertech like I did, you might have issues closing the last ratchen on the Mag1, I could barely get the top wire over the hook and it hurt my hand to do so.

Oh really that's not good news then I will be sending them back if they are no good and will give up on sidi boots altogether

These are flashy I have sidi vortices but I recently switched to Daytona race boots just leaps and bounds ahead of either a* or sidi.

I've heard amazing things about them. I just personally don't like the old school look as much.

Hi Michael, for 35 degrees Celsius, do you think the Mag 1 air will be better that the Supertech r vented? I want a vented and protected boot for commuting.

Yes, I definitely would choose the Sidi Mag1 for the high temperature riding. Just make sure it fits your foot's width at the forefoot and through the toes.

Should APLINESTAR supertech buy one size lager than regular for cover the leather pants?
@medina23
@medina23 3 года назад
You should buy the correct size for your foot’s comfort. The boots were designed to accommodate leathers. Note: you will zip your leathers over the inner boot. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to put the leathers into the inner boot.
