Carrie, Eli & Robert, thank you for sending us photos of your “RS-Paying It Forward”, merchandise! I can’t wait to see everyone wearing shirts at practice. For those of you too far to practice with us in-person, keep those photos coming. PRELOAD!!!🤗
Robert, I would first like to applaud you for your teaching skills. Even tho, I have been riding for years, I have learned very much from your videos. Your method of “Why and How” is terrific. I have learned a lot from your videos, especially the low speed. In the past, I had never put my right foot on rear brake until I had been moving. I won’t ever do that again! But I always had my right hand on the front brake which is especially dangerous in a turn. The front brake has its use, but remember “It is not your friend.” I wish everyone who rides would watch your videos, they are the best on the internet.

When your making wide left turns at a big intersection with multiple lanes, do you make them the same as tight 90 degree turns? are the steps the same? Are you still using rear break in those wider turns ?
Thanks for the reply, you taught me how to ride a motorcycle. It didn't click in my head until I heard you explain it. I can't thank you enough. Yep, I need to work on exercises 2, 4 I think. Let go of the clutch when in trouble, Turn my head in the direction I want to go before making the turn. I've been working on this for a while now and your videos have helped alot. It has taken a little longer getting used to some moves cuz I have a 21" wheel up front and apes for bars..makes the reach longer but I'm getting there. Any tips for these issues?
I’m very happy that you’ve been working on this. Ok firstly, the 21” wheel is a non issue so don’t worry about that. Secondly, lock your handlebars to the right… If you can’t COMFORTABLY reach your clutch handle, you may want to consider either adjusting your handlebars, if that’s an option, or changing them.
You should get a bullhorn while your critiquing the riders so the other riders can hear your corrections. If the other riders waiting hear the same corrections, that might stick in their head when it’s their turn. Just my thoughts...
Like what you are doing I’m trying to get back onto a motorcycle I’m on disability so I have issues but I want a motorcycle so bad I may not get one for at least a couple of years
Just wanted you to know I can now do a u-turn inside two parking spots like you do, with an Ultra Limited. thanks for all the tips in your videos. I wish i could have had you teach me in person
Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾😁 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
I'm always inspired by your videos. They also raise my confidence level, so I generally watch a video before I practice. Thank you again, much of this video address a lot of what I've been thinking. I really appreciated your detailed left turn right turn commentary. Also loved your kicks, they match your bike nicely.
OK Making Right Turns & Left Turns From A Stop ; if I Feel as if the bike is going to fall ,while making the turn, " open-up the clutch a little bit". I will understand that it is an option on my part to increase the drive to the rear wheel ,which will put that feeling of falling away. It is not necessary to increase the drive,in most cases, but an option. Correct ?
Damn Robert if only I could ride a motorcycle like you. How many times did you drop bikes before you lost the fear of turning them so tight? I have a 2019 CVO Limited and just don’t want to drop that bad boy.
Hey Alfonso. Thank you for the compliment! What Greg and Tom said is spot on. I don’t know how many times I dropped the motorcycle, but I will say once you truly get the concept of how these techniques work together, the fear will dissipate. And that’s simply because your confidence level will rise, which is the main point of my channel. 😊👍🏾
Hey Robert, another great video. Awesome! Can I suggest that you do not cut onions during your intro? 😉 Inspiring..... Life is indeed short and must be “lived”.
It’s my pleasure. Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed! I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
Dumb question How do the riders hear you when they are riding? Got to practice the other day and because of you I was able to make a u turn on a public highway. Kept going through my head preload and keep it loaded. Customized my clutch lever today to put the friction zone larger and at a different spot when engaging. I even did some slow speed riding. Amazing how easy it is when doing it they way you show us. I have been riding for years but it is amazing what I didn't know. So thanks a million keep the videos coming
@@jolkraeremeark6949 I have a cable clutch. It is hard to describe and don't know if you can do it on all bikes. The hole where the cable attaches I drilled another hole so that you pull the cable farther if that makes any sense. The friction zone on my bike was way out to the end of the clutch lever travel and the friction zone was very small. By doing what I did it will make the friction zone towards the center of the clutch lever travel and make the friction zone larger. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. Might have to adjust the cable a little.
Hey Rod. I don’t know what you mean! Are you referring to when they’re doing the exercises? I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile! 👍🏾
Another awesome practice session! Mark is very one with his bike! Excellent! Rob.....that intro........wants to make me turn my handlebars! Very cool shots! 👍 🚔💙
The counterbalance (although slight) makes a whole world of difference. Keeping your body straight up like you said Robert helped tighten my u-turn. Going back and watching these videos over and over helps. Sometimes things don't register the first time!
Robert; has anyone come to you class on a bike with a car tire on the rear? What do you think of a dark side bike? Or a double dark side, when you put a rear motorcycle tire on the front and a car tire on the rear?
@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle Dark side is using a car tire on the motorcycle. Double dark side is a car tire on the rear and switching the rear motorcycle tire to the front. Car tires have a flat surface profile that may make slow speed maneuvers harder.
Wow, every training session and video gets better each time. I really enjoy watching the returning riders progress and the confidence building with each exercise (Pam and Robin Rock!). Robert you do an amazing job and your commitment to educating the other 98 percent is undeniable and contagious! You make me want to organize a free training session in Iowa. @@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle Proper way to downshift without the bike jerking forward aggressive from high gears to low gears. Do you downshift then brake or brake then downshift? Another awesome video Robert. I always look forward to seeing your thumbnail pic in my channel subscription notifications. I have been riding a motorcycle for at least 15 years or more but never really realized at slow speeds I was actually a 2 when I thought I was a 8😂😂. Whenever I see a nice empty parking lot, I whip in for as long as I can and practice what I see you teaching. Thanks again sir!!
So I heard you're going to do the dragon.. I'm telling you.. if you going to do that, you've at least got to try the diamondback, and the devil's triangle. And do the triangle in the counterclockwise direction.. that way you'll experience three consecutive 180° switch backs uphill.. I find that more challenging than the tail of the dragon in any direction.
Another Great practice session Rob! I've watched every one of them. Are those Ciro Bag Blades or Custom Dymamics? I want to add the Magic Strobe but I have Ciro Bag Blades and have read that the Magic Strobe is no compatible with Ciro.????Thoughts from you or fellow Pre-Loaders?
I really enjoyed this practice session mainly I find myself repeating your exercise directions in my head then I go out and practice. I am in the Philippines and I am looking for a place to practice, most of the time I am practicing in the "real world ". In addition, I find myself doing slow riding; u-turns; L/R turnes and I see people watching me (I always do better lol). I have this u -turn I hate in order to get into my gated yard.....with a little "puckering" I am able to do it. I have to make a video of this "Trust and Believe " experience. I challenge all "Old Heads" lol. God bless you for all that you do. I'm now 75 (4/9) and I began riding a big bike at 74.
Great video Robert! Also, may I add to the audience to ride sensibly. I am a police officer in Washington DC and last night I was on the scene of a motorcycle accident in the 3rd street tunnel. The rider was on a "crotch rocket" and going way too fast. In fact about 3 times the legal speed limit. Long story short, he hit the back of a Toyota Camry at 100 miles per hour the major crash unit estimates. He flew off the bike tumbled down the highway lost his full face helmet and severed his leg. He didn't live to see today's sunrise and beautiful morning. Instead, he died on a dirty highway street of massive head injuries and extreme blood loss from his head and severed leg. I was there and my coworker tried to save his life by applying a tourniquet to no avail. He was riding with a group of guys who he had met on a FB group and it was the first time he rode with them. They said in their statements he was going way to fast. Folks pleas don't be "that guy" ride sensibly, responsibly, and let's all live to ride many great rides! Thanks for your channel Robert, riding education from a professional is important.
Rob, I am an educator. The same is true of students...every student brings with them, to every learning experience, the entirety of their life experience. Amen Brother. Oh, and if you WERE a preacher...you'd be a good one for sure!
Good ole X-Bronx! Travelled it many times. Years ago my dad and I were driving a tractor trailer headed LI City on the X-Bronx and a truck in front of us got a good size rock (twice the size of a fist) caught between the rear tires. The mud flap didn't prevent it from flying up and hitting the windshield. The windshield is the only thing that saved my dad's life. Thanks for highlighting the road hazards that exist. Be safe out there PreLoaders! Any Dallas based PreLoaders out there want to ride?
It's hilarious that moments after doing yard laps with a softail I just bought, you post a practice session. LITERALLY MOMENTS! Get out my head man! Lmao!
Hello Robert, I have a question, if one has neck problems and can't turn their head has far as they should, is it ok to turn their shoulders to get their head farther around? TIA!
Awesome practice session, Rob!!!🏍💨 I was close to you all while at my parents in Hampton. Hubs and I trailered the bikes to ride with my Dad and brother on Saturday.
I don't skip to another video until I'm finished watching yours even if it takes me a day or two, being a business owner takes up a lot of time, which makes it harder to make time to practice so unfortunately I only get one day a week most of the time. Thank you for your time, I hope that I can make it there one day for a practice session
Firstly - the Mike and Laura story - just WOW. I admire of all these Preloaders® who made the trip and participated. Every one of you are inspirational. Maybe soon, we can pack this course with some NC riders. Was good to see Kannapolis and Greensboro, as well as my hometown Columbia being represented. BTW- it really stinks running to my mailbox everyday looking for my Preloader® shirt and it's not there. :-)

Slow speed skills are very fun! My Father in Law and I practice every opportunity we can get in parking lots and on the street! The street is the best way after your skills are up because like you said you have to be aware of EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE... An when your doing slow speed maneuvers while in traffic it becomes second nature... it's like it just comes natural! Because at first this stuff was hard to get down! Lol! But like you say PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
Great vids, love the content. I am going through the MSF basic rider course right now, tomorrow is the last day, and this content has made me fly through (along with my skills from BMX, dirt bikes and riding briefly 30 years ago)....That all being said, Pam (no offense here) gets a lot of credit for doing this on a Honda 500. The Harley street 500's (about the same size etc.) at the class can be whipped around like toys. How would it look if she were on a Road Glide, Street glide, Gold Wing? Take it for what it is, but "making it look easy" on a Honda 500, isn't making it look easy, it's simply having a small, less powerful, more whippy bike.
Thank you very much! I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile! Regarding Pam, I don’t agree with you 100%. Watch her in exercise #4. That’s the bread and butter to pretty much all of this and the weight and size of the motorcycle has little to do with it. She is using very good technique and deserves all the credit I give her for it. There are literally hundreds of thousands of motorcycle riders that I could put on Pam’s motorcycle and they would have problems navigating that turn. It’s all about technique. 👍🏾
10-4. I'll watch that again. I was merely going off my experience with the street 500 in class, compared to my Low Roder S. In terms of maneuverability. Thanks again for what you are doing for your community!
I wanted to be a better rider so after I did some searching on RU-vid I came across, Jerry Palladino. I watched and learned a lot from his videos and course video. I then found you. Love your videos and I’ve been able to take away a LOT from you and Jerry. Preloading for the win! Understanding from Jerry that my speed should be about 8 -10mph. I’ve started practicing with my son and Wow practicing with your techniques have made a MASSIVE improvement in my riding and it’s been a lot of fun! @@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together. I know its not easy, but please know that your army of preloaders really appreciate it. Perhaps one day, I can schedule to go down your way for a class with my son!
LT; I've been practicing preloading and controlling the speed of the motorcycle with the rear brake, however, is this burning up the rear brakes or overheating the motor? Thanks brother. God bless.
Your clutch is the key to managing power to the rear wheel. [ _PreLoaded throttle simply prevents the engine from stalling._ ] *Power to the rear wheel* is what will prevent you from falling. Hope that helps.
