Never Monetised any of my videos and i've been on youtube since 2009 with my mayorip channel, people who monetise are only making videos for money in my view. I just do it for fun and that's what it should only be for, if any of my videos are monetised it's because i've used Music that is copyrighted and that money goes to the creator of it which is fair.
@@worldVHS You say money going to music creators is fair, but not content creators? I make vids for fun and to interact with people, but if advertisers and you tube are making money of your vids, why not get paid? Not against people monetising their content, but your right, once money is introduced then the reasons for making vids can change. Still on the fence, probably won't, but am curious how things would change for the good or bad.👍😎
Yeah once money comes into the equation the pressure would mount up to make more and more content for the sake of it & would take the fun outta it I reckon.
Playing devils advocate, having targets/goals/incentives does make me produce more content. Whether its good or bad is another thing😂 I know from experience that when I did a commission once in the past it turned into a disaster as my heart wasn't in it. Ended up refunding the guy and it was embarassing and stressfull. If I sell anything now I have made, its usually after the fact when the product is finnished.
I don’t see monetising the channel As begging. You may notice Amazon will assign add to start of some of your vids anyhow So better to have those pennies in your pockets than theirs. I’ve been monetised a couple times then Amazon In monetises me as I don’t always play ball. It’s neither here nor there for me🤷♂️ take It or leave it ☝️
I don't mind either really unless its blatant begging. More curious as some vids have massive views for no real reason. Only thing I can think of is, like you say amazon, disney or whoever holds the license of that franchise i'm "promoting" by making a vid on is pushing the views up. If I did monetise then maybe the channel would grow faster, but is that a good thing? I don't think a few extra pennies in my pocket from you toob is gunna be life changing but might affect the content I put out if I'm chasing trends etc. I do this for fun and to relieve boredom plus the interaction. I'm not against others making money. Whatever works for you is your buisness. I see both sides but the amount of schills that basically have no scruples on you tube makes me want to avoid that association.
Yeah i get that. I was never going to monetise until I realised they were still putting ads in front of some of my vids and that annoyed me so I monetised. And if it gives this £20 £30 A month and you can put it back into your collection then why not. But like I said. They always find a reason to close my monetisation down for 3 / 6 months without giving me specific reason. 🤷♂️ What annoys me more than anything is Patreon I think that’s something people shouldn’t delve into unless YT is your income. Until they have 100thousand subs or something
