Magnus himself in this interview talked about youngsters born in 2003 and after, Alireza is born in 2003 and therefore in this category. As for the fact that Gukesh can beat Alireza's 2800 record, it is true. But it won't be easy. Nobody saw it coming when Alireza did it, he won 34 rating points in just one month. Something you don't expect a 2770 rated player to get. I think he went something insane like 16/20 with a performance of 2950. Honestly, it will be hard for Gukesh to get to 2800, and even more to do so in one year.

Firouzja is not a youngster anymore in terms of chess. Nobody saw it coming when Gukesh crossed 2750 and became the youngest ever to do so.
