Sometimes too much of an energy replacement drink brings on the need to vomit. Has happened to me a few times. You feel fine just the need to rid yourself of the extra fluid. Bob Kempainen demonstrates this on the fly at the 1996 USA Men's Olympic Trials-ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fRvrxqlOSpI.html
When the body can't get rid of the waste product lactate acid vs the rate of production in the muscles the body only has one way left to try get rid of it and that's by throwing up. His increase of speed over the last 5 kilometers to break Sisay was exceptional but came at a price. Most of the time this throwing up occurs during training but sometimes it happens in the spotlight :)
I do a lot of walking for health and a few years ago I took up jogging and almost threw up, never done it before and decided running just wasn't for me, hated it at school too!! 😐🏫
Galen Rupp is tall for a marathon runner but a lot of his height comes from his long torso. His conditioning is superb. Few runners are good enough to challenge the best of the Kenyans and Ethiopians but Galen Rupp might be one of them. www.iaaf.org/athletes/ethiopia/sisay-lemma-277047 Lemma has thick legs like Kenenisa Bekele.
Oh I love Galen and feel for him. I ran cross country in HS and after one race my sophomore year I got sick like that. Lots of runners know that feeling, pushing so hard till there is nothing left. Great Job Galen :)
So many people are hating on Rupp saying he's doping. Even if he was it still takes lots of training and dedication to be a world class marathoner. Rupp is a beast and kicking ass in the marathon stop hating on him. None of you making these rupp doping comments could take EPO and be anywhere close to rupp's ability.
I remember being in a marathon training club in Houston, when we had this massive rain, it came down in buckets and people died in the flood that day. I didn't do the morning run because I didn't want my car flooded. I get this email from the club after saying we were sorta like pussies because we are either a runner or not (those that didn't show up). Obviously, there were 60% elite runners not real runners at Boston in 2018 while those non elites braved it and finished.
Meeting my sub 4hr target and achieving my first marathon with out injury were achievable because of this marathon training “Zοrοtοn Axy” (Google it). The book gives a lot of great info about training program, diet plan, strategy, etc. but the very useful page in the whole book is the training schedule which informs you how far to run on what day. .
Right when the announcer says "lick up all the trash and put the city back too its immaculate self" at 6:00 you see the walls filled with graffiti lmfao
We are less than 22 hours away until the start of the Prague Marathon and Galen Rupp is testing the roughness of Prague cobblestones... Interview with Alberto Salazar www.brunningmag.cz/blog/we-named-our-dog-after-zatopek
I really like the running form of the Ethiopian Sisay. He has a quick stride and it appears effortless even though he was struggling toward the end. I believe that the most economical form belongs to the Ethiopian. Galen Rupp won the race less about his running form but more about conserving energy for the late stages of the race, it worked for him. Sisay was less than a minute behind Rupp but Sisay ran the more courageous race even as he showed fearlessness in keeping the pace honest. In fact, had it not been for Sisay, Rupp would not have had set his Personal Best for the Marathon. Rupp's strategy is sort of hit or miss at times, but generally when the E. Africans make their move, they generally hold on to the lead even having another gear at their disposal just in case.
Rupp is still a great runner. When he wins tho the winning time is well over 2:05 or 6. Sisay just London marathon 2021 in 2:04:01. He beat an absolute elite field that day
I was thinking the exact same thing! Granted he is probably the best long distance runner in the world at this point in time, but man he is running this MARATHON like an elite 5k runner would. The guy is pretty awesome.
No name on the WORLD MARATHON ALL-TIME LIST has run 26:44 for 10K... so you guys can debate potential all you want. He can run as fast as anyone ever has in the right situation. BREAKING 2 #2 Kipchoge, Farah and Rupp... THAT WOULD BE EPIC!!!!!
This isn't the first time lmfoa they constantly lost too him in the 5000meter and the 10,000meter and he finished third at the 2016olynpics in the marathon and he has won or finished second in multiple other marathons
@@yesufabdulhakim9326 you are aware he has won MULTIPLE marathons and won the qualifier for the u.s Olympic team which was his very first marathon EVER and then won the bronze in Rio which h was only his second marathon EVER
Why? Because he is white? A marathon has absolutely nothing to do with speed it has too do with longevity and stamina... saying he is doping ISIS racist as saying that the black girl who won thebswimmong even for the United states in swimming was doping
Totally against the use of pacers in races. Any obtained result under that format is biased. Those who became legends in runnig did no used them. No more spoon-feeding to modern athletes.
Yeah Galen can probably run 202 but the only problem is that the kenyans or Africans are just hungrier. 202 yes but it most likely will not win the race overall. But Mo Farah is a different breed alltogether.
Bryan Fisher he could run 202 but it no guarantee that the time will win the race. It is a fact that in some major races the top 10 guys or studs will run sub 206 but only be good for 6th or 10th place. No wonder Ryan Hall quit. It is no longer a marathon but a long sprint home.
