I'm willing to bet that is exactly how most people would react if they thought they got tricked into eating dog or cat meat. People are allowed to have personal morals and values and we should respect them even if we don't understand them.
the joke is seeing their contradicting views, this video wasn't to actual hurt them. "Omg this is so good!" _is told its real meat_ "OMG i knew it was nasty, gross *vomits* im so sick right now i cant even" _learns its a prank_ "Omg its so goooood i love this food" lets be real here, they arent even vegans to life a good live, they do it to seem unique.

I'm vegan, but not really by choice - I'm lactose intolerant and have a pretty bad reaction whenever I eat meat. If someone did this to me, I wouldn't be that pissed, or make a big deal about it. I think I'd just be poorly for a couple of days. Something like this happened to my brother. He went to a friends house and ate meat thinking that it was mock meat or something since his friend was a veggie. And he was sick as soon as he realised what it was. He doesn't have the reactions I do, though - he just cares about animals. I think this is just your head making you behave that way. If she really thought that it was meat, then I don't doubt that she did feel sick. But it would be due to paranoia and stress rather than the meat itself.
......lactose intolerance doesnt make u allergic to meat....maybe something else does but not the lactose......not sure if u were just stating that fact....which isnt a proper support of your subject. you should really find out what makes you allergic.
andrea look No - I just get really poorly when I eat meat. I'm not saying that my lactose intolerance is the reason for that. It's just another reason for me having a difficult time eating animal products.

One of my classmates gave me a burrito, I knew it wasn't meat (I know my Chipotle order better than u smh...) then he tried to prank me that there was meat in it and I was mad that he would try to do that... So I pretended I was allergic and started fake dying in the Dutch parking lot lol. It freaked him out and he apologized so much. I was like 😎
'Allergic' tends to be a fall-back word for people like us. When you're vegan or vegetarian meat becomes a food sensitivity that can make you very ill. Food poisoning isn't fun. We find people out there take allergies more seriously than food sensitivities, so it's easier to say you're allergic. p.s. You can have allergies even to things you're not exposed to. In fact lack of exposure to something is exactly what can trigger the histamine reaction in some people.

Even if anyone did this prank, if they actually fed them meat they could have a reaction. I've never eaten meat in my entire life so don't prank your friends with actual meat guys! They could throw up, have an allergic reaction, or their bodies could react differently. Keep your vegan friends! 💕
exactly! i had a veggie burger the other day but unfortunately it had egg whites which i didn't find out until afterwards since i had really bad stomach pains and i kept throwing up, i'm vegan and i just began in may but i haven't had egg in almost a year which was why i had a reaction. they've been vegan since birth so imagine how they'd feel if it was real meat, or even if it wasn't.

It's not because it tasted bad, it's because they thought they were eating a dead animal. What if someone gave you a burger, you liked it, then they told you it was made of human meat or dog meat even? Would you still eat it and like it?
They could definitely get sick from eating meat, especially since their bodies have never had to digest it before. Also, some people are allergic to certain types of meat, it's not unheard of.

sorry don't wanna come off as rude or preachy but being vegan is about saving animals' lives, the environment, our health and all that other stuff. For me it's mostly just about the animals. Us vegans don't think about it as a "diet" or limiting our food - I personally just completely don't think of animals or their secretions as food anymore! I eat so much fries, oreos, vegan cakes, noodles and whatever I want tbh. really sorry if this came off as rude but I just wanted to clarify that x

Guys, if you have never eaten certain foods before you CAN have an allergic reaction to it. Yes of course we try new foods all the time. But Its not like introducing your body so a new recipe. It's more like introducing your body to a whole new food type. Imagine if you had never eaten a carb in your entire life. Also she wasn't "faking" her reaction. It's more psychological. Like if you ate something, and you felt fine. And then later, you find out it went mouldy a month ago, you might start to feel a bit queasy even if you were fine before. Don't hate them!
When you grow up you go to a doctor to see what you are allergic to if they said you are allergic to certain types of meat then you are allergic but if you not,you not and the doctor would have told them that the are allergic to the meat otherwise they wouldn't have eaten the meat its common sense
Hamad Almannai That's not true at all, you can't even take a test to see what you are allergic to, there are some test but they can only say if you have been allergic to something. I myself have done this several times and the doctors can't just find out what you are allergic to

By "allergic" she meant that because she was a vegan for so long her body cannot digest/break down meat from an animal, meaning she might get nauseous, throw up, or the meat will just take a long time to digest and break down

Actually, Marissa said that they've been vegans their whole lives, so because their bodies aren't used to eating meat, their bodies can no longer digest it. So if it were real meat, they would get really sick

Vegan psych major perspective: I wouldn't be sick from any physical problem, I know, but I happen to be a nervous person, and might very well make myself feel that way. There's a lot going on in this moment for the two vegans: first of all, betrayal, which can be an extremely powerful thing some people indeed have physiological reactions to such events. Is it worse for us? Maybe: vegans' values are often mocked, unappreciated, and belittled by people around us. When we find someone we can trust, it's fantastic, vegan or non (and of course this is true of everyone). Secondly, the girl on the left could, on top of that, be suffering from a placebo effect, another powerful thing. She had the immediate fear that she would be ill from the meat, and may have misinterpreted what was actually a reaction to stress (from betrayal, and just from having contributed to animal cruelty, accidental or not) as a reaction to the meat. How we perceive what we're going through has a huge effect on, well, how we experience it. She was able to be okay so soon after having been told that it wasn't meat probably because there was simply no reason to be stressed anymore: she hadn't been betrayed by a friend, she hadn't been made to contribute to animal cruelty, and she wasn't in danger of some adverse reaction (which is very possible for people who haven't had meat in a while, and, I'd imagine even moreso for lifelong vegans, though idk about this in particular). I've experienced something like this, and yes, the relief is sometimes immediate.
You never ate a dog, imagine someone giving you dog meat and it tastes like "m idc it s not the best" but still eating, and then they tell u "Hey gurl, yk u just ate my dog?" I d feel like hell
One time at a restaurant, I ordered spaghetti and there was this weird brown thing in it and I thought it was meat and I straight up sobbed for 15 minutes until I was told that it was a fucking mushroom. When you're vegan you end up forgetting what meat tastes like and it seriously messes with your mind when someone tells you something's not vegan when it really is. My Dad (he eats meat) does that to me sometimes and it scares me so badly.
Star, I'm not vegan/vegetarian either, but if no one buys meat anymore because the world becomes vegan, farmers will stop producing as much meat because it's a waste if no one will buy, thus saving many animals.

They physiologically freak themselves out when they find out it's meat because before they were completely fine. It is all in their heads they make themselves sick. If they would have never told them it was meat they would've ate it and been completely fine.
Of course it's all in their heads. Most vegans don't eat animal products for ethical reasons. You're not gonna die from eating one burger, but the animal whose flesh is in the burger had to die...and that is why vegans freak out when they think that they accidentally ate meat. It's not the taste, it's the thought of eating parts of an animal's corpse that is disgusting.
