Pray, Discern, and Do It

Father Emmanuel responded to God’s call on a walk with his dog in England. He said, “Lord, I’ll do anything. What do you want me to do?” He heard God tell him to become a priest, and he wrestled with the thought at first, but some time later he took the leap of faith and hasn’t regretted it since. Do you have this kind of trust? Are you that open to what God has planned for you? If not, that’s fine. You could just keep living the life you have, and never know what could have been. But if you become everything God made you to be, as St. Catherine of Siena said, you’ll set the world on fire.

Thanks fathers! This video is the tipping point in renouncing my arrogance and deciding to become a godfather for two young men who are entering te church, an offer I have until now declined. Please keep me in your prayers, I have a hunch that being a godfather will be challenging, but rewarding! (By the way, for all you wondering, the baptism + first communion + confirmation is this Sunday)

I realized, a full year after my conversion & cofirmation as a Catholic, that I spent the better part of the previous 25 years discerning my conversion. At first, I mourned the "lost time" and wondered why I waited so long. I looked for the things in my life that prevented me from converting sooner. At this year's Easter Vigil, one year later, God revealed to me that it took 25 years for me to move from, "God, what do you want me to do," to, "God, I will do anything you ask of me." It was me. I was the immovable hurdle that held back my conversion! Until I was willing to come to God with an open and willing heart, nothing else could happen.

Do Friars pray for NonCatholics? I am Christian and it’s been a really tough year. I had cancer earlier this year and it’s been a tough phase for me. I need prayer. The energy it takes to provide for myself through this is a strain. God has provided but I feel scared more days than not, and worried I won’t have what it takes to do much more than survive. Will God provide a husband at 58? Should I fast more and go back to decades of being set apart, still. I want connection at the end of life with people, but that’s hard for me to know how to begin. Please pray for direction and guidance and safekeeping for me. Love in Christ Our Lord ❤️

Its great when people talking about hearing God's call to them. Its also fustrating for me, when you dont have that. When despite praying, begging, fasting, going to confession, watch loads of videos on discernment or hearing God's voice feeling the presence of the holy trinity, nothing changes. Everyone talks about saying yes to God but what about when youre not hearing anything from God on anything. What do you do with continued silence? Is it caused by sin? Is my faith not strong enough? Am I not listening correctly?

Btw I live in the town of Marysville OH, our Church is located on the outskirts of housing development of Green Pastors you can get into the parking lot from Main Street or Emmaus and Damascus to Emmaus. There are many other meanings to Kelly also. I can mean also Father of many another is associated with 1 Peter 1 meaning sustainer of virtue to be kept by the power of God in the virtue of faith unto salvation be revealed in the last days. Like I’ve said before this even sounds crazy to me. I say how can this be Father I am just a simple human and sinner. And His response is always I Am who I AM. Anything is possible with Me. This is only a small part of my journey here on earth I guess. Thank you for hearing me. God Bless

Lovely message brothers . Some helpful scriptures for future prayer for us all. Romans 8:26 King James Version (KJV) 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. John 4:24 King James Version (KJV) 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Falling off a cliff is actually exhilarating and fun. Rejecting all material luxuries and praying all day and not seeing girls sounds not only boring, but also like torture. It may also be a transcendental experience, rejecting the physical body, fulfilling maybe but man, certainly does not sound as fun as falling off a cliff into a nice body of water. I have a lot of respect for priests nuns monks etc, but I just cannot comprehend living my one life like that. Fear of missing out would consume me.
@scotchtapeworm3755

I feel that. They say to give God everyrything, and do only things that glorify God. This makes me worry that I am supposed to only pray all day, and never do anything fun. This sounds like torture to me as well. I pray the rosary daily, but I have such a hard time even focusing and not stressing out during that 15 minutes. I can't imagine praying all day everyday nonstop. I have great respect for the people who do

I know many priests and religious, and of almost all of them, they do SO much more than just stay still and pray all day! That's only reserved for cloistered, contemplative orders. I understand the fear of missing out. But so many priests I know have been Christ's missionaries to foreign countries. When they are home, they're present in the most important parts of peoples' lives (marriages, deaths, baptisms, joys/struggles) and wlak through that with people. And at the end of the day, a life spent giving so that others may know God and go to heaven brings a lot more joy than what our current culture says it would. All I'm asking is that there might be a lot more to things than what you think :) as for these friars, check this trailer out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-63ZKn4QtqSU.html

ScotchTapeWorm77 God doesn't want us to miss out on anything, He does want us to enjoy our lives, because He loves us. He also knows what's best for us, so discerning what He wants us to do & following it is important. He wants us to have balance in our lives. He doesn't expect us to be praying all day long either. Here's how I handle that: I set aside an hour daily for my time with the Lord. (I don't always use the full hour.) I have a nice little orchard on my property that is peaceful & secluded, so I go there to pray. I thank Him for the good things I have (by listing them separately it makes me more aware there are actually plenty). I ask forgiveness, I ask for help with specific needs, & direction for my life. If my prayers are short that day, I just enjoy being where I am, how lovely that spot is, the sound of the birds, & realize how peaceful it makes me feel for that moment (My life is overrun with responsibility & stress & I know the stresses will be present when I resume my regular day, but for that hour I push them out except for discussing them in prayer.) Sometimes it's just the sitting there quietly, feeling His presence that has an effect, & I can then hear God more clearly. If I don't hear an answer to my prayers I tell God that & ask that He point me in the right direction more firmly. At that point I realize things don't happen on my time, & that's what I've been wanting but can't accomplish alone, so I've been stressed. They happen on the Lord's time & I need to patient, so I discuss that realization with Him. Sometimes immediately the urgency I feel creeps back into my mind, but then I recognize I'm trying to do things myself, when really I don't have to. I'm not alone, God is with me. I realize the importance of having faith that everything is in the Lord's hands & He won't let me down. I don't need to worry. (Much like how safe I felt as a kid knowing my parents will look after me.) Some things I've asked Him about for a couple of years I still don't know His answer to, & although sometimes I don't see it, when I reflect on my life overall I can see where He's working it out in a direction by opening some doors & closing others. When I leave the orchard, even though I have to immediately face some stress I actually feel happier & more at peace. It's 1 step at a time. For the rest of my day, (aside from then dealing with some responsibilities,) I also have fun doing something I enjoy, because I know God wants me to be happy. (Ascention Presents has a good vid on this called A Catholic Guide To Partying.)

@ascension_presents I'm commenting on this video because it's your most recent, but I was wondering what you can teach people about video games. What types of games are morally wrong? Are all violent games wrong, or can they be considered alright when you are able to recognize that it's just a game, and no one is really getting hurt? I was browsing your RU-vid videos and visited your website, but I couldn't find anything that specifically talked about games. I might not have looked hard enough, but if that's the case could you please provide me with a video or article in which you have addressed video games. I know there are other sources that address video games according to Christian values, but I was just wondering if you guys have ever (or if you could do a future video on it) addressed video games.

I'm sorry that you feel so bad. Please try sitting in silence in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Don't think or say anything to God, but just be in His Presence. On the flip side, sometimes when I'm really frustrated, I go to a secluded place and scream and shout out my problems to God. Both have helped me immensely. @@TheMDelima Thank you for your response. I have tried sitting in silence in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, and honestly, it is torture. I get more and more frustrated by the minute. The purpose of the Lord's evening meal is to remember Jesus, showing our gratitude for his sacrifice in our behalf.( Matthew 20:28; 1corinthians 11:24) The observance is not a sacrament or a religious practice that imparts merit such as grace or the forgiveness of sins. The Bible teaches that our sins can be forgiven, not by a religious rite, but only through faith in Jesus. - Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:1,2. Jesus commanded his disciples to commemorate the lord's Evening Meal, but he did not specifically say how often.( Luke 22:19) Some feel that it should be observed monthly, while others observe it weekly, daily, several times each day, or as often as a person feels is appropriate. However, here are some factors that should be considered. Jesus instituted the lord's Evening meal on the date of the Jewish Passover, and he died later that same day.( Matthew 26:1,2) This was no coincidence. The scriptures compare Jesus sacrifice of that of the Passover lamb.( 1corinthians 5:7,8) The Passover was observed once each year.(Exodus 12:1-6; Leviticus 23:5) Likewise, the memorial of Jesus death was observed once each year by the early christians and Jehovah's witnesses follow that bible-based pattern.
