I’m so excited to decorate my new apartment this year. My theme ideas are witchy in the kitchen, spooky/haunted house feeling in the living room, & in your face orange & black in the bathroom.

This is my 1st year decorating my own home for halloween! I'm also having a "Haunted Housewarming" Party. I'm encouraging costumes (& I'll give out candy to those who do), I'm hiding little ghosts throughout my home/yard as a game to try & find them all. There's a guess how many candies game (ghoul mix m&ms) and a list how many horror movies with the word "home, street or house" in the title. I planned a whole themed appetizers menu & themed desserts. I'm decorating the inside with mini glass witch ingredients vials, fake black roses, a spooky tree, mini jack o lantern string lights, paper bats on the walls & a halloween lace table cloth among other things!

It'd be fun to build a spooky/creepy storyline (with decor) around the veiled lady🖤🕯⚰️I picture her being a ghost in an attic so maybe old weathered books, bottles, photos, candles, spider webs, other creepy knick knacks etc. Or maybe she wanders the (branchy tree-filled) woods? Zesting the lime-don't go too deep just skim the peel. It is very bitter underneath, same thing with zesting a lemon.I'm with you on the elderly dogs-they give you their entire life so when they get older they deserve the extra care and inderstanding. The green half bath could be an extension of the witchy dining room by being a scary forest, or a swamp theme. Snakes, spiders, toads, mushrooms, drapey green fabric, mossy texture, branchy trees, like that!

Love my mantle. But the TV cabinet in my den is where I decorate with all my prized Halloween decorations. The spooky baby/kids clothes are too cute! Omg. I would 100% wear those in “big kid” sizes, too! Lol Also, I’m obsessed with my Sleepy Hollow (does anyone else ALWAYS think spooky hollow instead of sleepy hollow???) short sleeve. It’s such nice fabric, the design is off the charts cool, and the fit is just so perfect. I’m short so I don’t usually like longer tops but the cut of this one just makes it work. Love it! 🖤🧡

Oh man, Lucian might be an escape artist when it comes to trying to 'zone' him off from certain areas of your house when he starts toddling. When my little one was toddling, I simply didn't decorate at all on the floor AT ALL because my son was Houdini and got over/around the baby gates within a week of his newfound mobility. It wasn't until he turned 5-6 that I could start again. But hey, that just means you get to go (even more) crazy with every surface Lucian can't reach. My favorite place to decorate (since I don't have a mantel/fireplace) is this awesome antique drawer/dresser that hangs out in our hallway. It has an awesome vintage vibe going all year round that gets turned up to the nines during spooky season when all the black and orange comes out.
