Absolutely a beautiful piece of artful creativity. I appreciate you thinking out of the box as all your work doesn't have to always end as a result of utilitarian item. Occasionally building one for personal enjoyment is key to personal satisfaction of your own desire. I've done several Shark swimbaits with polycarbonate fins. The paint and epoxy will end up coming off if the fins hits something hard and bends. It's near impossible to avoid. Bait looks awesome btw.
Nice job. It appears that's one of the most "poplar" types of wood to carve for lure making... Next you need a tiny little Jason Statham lure to go with it... Just for future reference when making more tools in the future, heat treat the blade first and then epoxy it in. Heating it after being epoxied can melt the epoxy. Also, you'll want to tempter it in your oven for probably 2 rounds of 1 hour each at around 400°F (~204°C) or at least hit it again with the torch carefully until you get a nice straw color forming on the blade. Then epoxy it into the handle.
This is by far my favorite video to watch. Even in the shop I usually have one of your videos playing. I may be biased because this is one of my favorite apex predators like the Great White 🦈! I really love how the sanded creases you incorporated into this build look. It gives it an added detail. I'm in the process of making a Great White 🦈 and I hope I can do it justice like you have here. I managed to find a book with stencils because my drawing skills unfortunately suck big time!😂 Thank you again for posting this video. It's definitely inspiring to me. It shows me that with practice and determination anything is possible.
Could you take a challenge to make a floating wobbler/crankbait with a so-called long casting system, i.e. balls rolling to the tail when casting and coming back after landing?
I love using Japanese pull saws for cutting the joints on my swimbaits, check them out if you haven't before. Thin blade and super sharp makes it easy to make accurate cuts.
Too bad i dont really like filming fishing. It takes away from the experience when you have to make sure everything is on frame, you remembered to turn on the camera and don't run out of battery in the middle of the action😒
My experience with 5 minute epoxies is that they are not fully water proof. Many I have tried get soggy if in water for long periods of time. I wonder if you have found this too.
Best lure i have ever seen, i would buy that shark for home decoration if you were to put it inside of a glass bottle like they do sometimes with old galleons.
I think your the best lure mold maker in the world, I've followed many but none are good as yours, Asked Marling Baits and many more to make the Zerek Fish trap bait, it's a led imbeded bait but none responded, if you would make it i would be Grateful to you...Cheers

I really want to make a great white or megaladon lure but I cannot no matter how hard I try, find anything to print to use as a reference. Is there any way that I can get the same stencil/drawing that you used to get the size and proportions right? Thanks
