Welcome to the weekly live Q&A with Pastor David Guzik, author of the Enduring Word Bible commentary. Before taking your questions via the live chat, Pastor David's lead question comes from "Smitha" via Facebook:
"I would like to know about the experience of Pastor while he studied the word of God in a time period with no social media sermons, Google search, digital notebooks etc etc."
In reference to the Lead Question, these are "Good Uses of a Bible Commentary":
· To confirm what you have already learned from your study.
· To correct misunderstandings from your study.
· To show you things that you may have missed in the passage.
· To show you connections with other Bible passages you may have missed.
· To show you things from the historical context that you didn’t know.
· To show you things from the Biblical languages that you didn’t know.
· To show you how the passages has been understood through history.
· To give better words to what you have seen in the passage.
· To give good illustrations of what you have seen in the passage.
· To give good applications to what you have seen in the passage.

15:12 Do we inherit guilt from Adam? If so, how does that reconcile with Hebrews 2:14-18? Appreciate your teaching!
29:29 I have some authority over customers at my work. Sometimes I want to show grace, but other times I don't. How do I continue to enforce policy/rules as an employee/steward, but also show grace as a believer?
31:45 I just got the Complete Jewish Study Bible! I love it. Have you looked at it? if so what are your thoughts?
34:55 Can you please explain, "because although they knew God, they did not glorify God?" In Romans 1:21 - How did they “know God”?
39:25 Pastor David good afternoon, I could use some guidance, I’m trying to minister to someone about Jesus’s love for them to try to get them to see past their childhood trauma of sexual abuse. Advice?
43:33 Hello from Sweden! I recently got extremely angry at my mother’s atheist cousin, when he said he “knew gay conversion therapy is impossible” and he said that “i wanted him to go to hell” (for being gay), what shall i do?
48:00 Hey Pastor David, what is your routine before going to give a message or preach to a congregation? I find myself leading the men's Bible study a few times, and I was wondering what are the best way to prepare? ("Read yourself full, write yourself empty")

50:20 If drunkenness is a sin, why would Jesus make so much wine at his first miracle, knowing that people were going to get drunk? As a former alcoholic, this drives me crazy.

52:45 Question, Would you leave a church before addressing the issues of not screening the leaders, keeping quiet on issues of homosexuality, and having guest pastors that have been known of false teaching, in order to fit into the world.
55:25 I know a believer looking for church who said she left hers since "it would not have lgbtq in the church" - I spoke about love, and the importance of not changing the bible, but that we must not affirm open sin. How would you handle it?
58:00 Hello Pastor David - why was Miriam the only one punished with leprosy, when both she and Aaron spoke against Moses marrying the Ethiopian woman?
59:05 In a recent question on the website Quora, it was said that Moses did not or will not go to heaven - could you clarify this for me?
1:00:15 Question. God told Noah to build an Ark for himself and his family!! It's like other people were not included! So, were other people not supposed or allowed to enter, or did they refuse or decline to enter, as many preachers say?

It was much, much easier to get it over on the congregation when they were more or less dependent on the only guy in the room who had an education. It took me so much longer to learn the truth about that bible and about the nature of Christianity's history because I "got saved" 25 years before the internet was becoming a thing. And now that I'm out, life is soooo much better.

Such a great q&a today . You are right about the internet we have access to all the great men of God who have gone before I love to listen to old Spurgeon sermons, and join in with you from England all possible now . We are the most privileged generation and yet the worst. The internet is equally used for terrible terrible things . This is why I think we are the last generation, as Christian’s we can connect like no other time in history at a time when local churches are failing like no other time yet one where we can come together and learn . I think it’s significant and all in Gods perfect plan

I agree that while Google allows us to have a plethora of resources, it is not the same as before internet when we had commentaries such as Matthew Henry and the Bible concordances to deep dive for revelation! Thank you Pastor for all your teachings! God bless you!! 🙏

It’s better, for Christian’s it’s better and easier and able to connect Christian’s from around the world . But it’s also a place for evil to thrive , take care out there

You can be angry and sin not,,these employer have intrested in their business and not people....I use to work for employers that suppose to be Christian and trust me they would lead you wrong for the benefit of self ,, I use to work in tears telling them the truth,,,now we become friends and they are doing much better....it's a challenge when you are a Christian and work for non Christian

I thought I would humbly add my contribution to the issue of Jesus making wine at a wedding & therefore supposedly promoting drunkenness. Many cultures use wine to celebrate events but at the same time do not tolerate drunkenness. I come from a West African background and have been to many weddings and events and have never seen anyone drunk because such behaviour is seen as unacceptable. I have at the same time been to Western celebrations (especially work events) & seen drunkenness.

I will have to say, I disagreed that we inherit guilt, I would need you to supply scripture verses to back up that statement. I believe we inherit a sinful nature.

A question for inherited guilt would be where do babies go when they die
@sharonjackson4067
@sharonjackson4067 10 месяцев назад
The bible doesn’t tell us , but it tells us about God ,he’s just and fair and loving so I know whatever happens to the babies it’s fair and right .

@@sharonjackson4067 I believe the Bible does tell us. What it tells us is that we inherit a sin nature and not the guilt. A good resource is the book, Spiritual condition of infants, by Adam Harwood. Also, you don’t have to figure out what about Jesus? Never have I heard a scriptural supported explaination for either.

You never have to teach a child to lie only teach to tell the truth the lies soon come by themselves

@@sharonjackson4067 I agree, that is the sin nature we inherit. Again, not the sin guilt.
