The reason pastors like Murphy and others do those things at their so-called "church" is because the house of God doesn't looked like one! Their "pulpits" are just stages. And what do you do on a stage? You perform!

I read that whole chapter and at the end I can see how some believers think it justifies their sinful behavior if it doesn’t convict them and cause them to stumble but God has standards that were clearly given and were clearly specified not to do. And as a growing believer and through Gods grace I strive to die to self and meet Gods standards because I desire to please God for it is a sweet aroma to him.

Our biggest error, and the most dangerous, is that we teach and emphasize the blessings and grace of GOD, but not the HOLINESS of GOD. Until we understand HOLINESS, we will never truly understand the meaning of grace. When you live a worldly life, nobody rebukes you for being of the worldly spirit, but when you rebuke a worldly life, they rebuke you for being of a "judging" spirit.
I pray for the people who went to that church for New years eve with the intentions of being spiritually fed. I pray for those that may have felt they might as well had been in the club that night since the church service resembled one. 🙏🏽❤
The husband is the "PROTECTOR" and should NEVER showcase to the world or to his "children" what he does with his wife(their mother) in the marital bed behind closed doors! This is dishonorable. The one Gospel singer I respect is Marvin Sapp . He Quit being a pastor. He realized it wasn’t for him and that pressure of the job was too much. He actually was not a very good pastor and he knew people only went to his church because he was a singing celebrity. So he quit. People were disappointed but he felt it was the right thing to do. I wish Hatton had the guts to do the same thing.

Thank you Cori we have to be the salt of the world and look at the cities where the church is weakening. The cities are starting to rot with crime, homosexuality, same sex partners, disorderly teens. He started to say "standards" but swallowed it and used negative words like rules and regulations. This was done intentionally because standards are set(by The Most High)and you can't compromise them. However, rules and regulations are considered man-made or man influenced, so they're easier to dispute and change.
David was dancing before what represented the glory of God, the Ark of the covenant. I seriously doubt that he would even dare to dance to music that promoted and glorified sin. That whole Murphy service reminded me of when the Israelites danced before the golden calf. The music glorified the sins against the word of God.
I've struggled to understand why they don't see anything wrong with this, but when you are not operating in the call of God in your life, this is what it can lead to.They should not be in the pulpits trying to lead anyone, this is bringing negativity to the church, and they can't see it.

Haddock should quote the verse "be ye Holy as I am Holy" , which means to be in the same, mind and Spirit as the Lord God almighty. Pastors actions, thoughts and emotions should be Holy.
I listen to you all the time, I don’t always agree, but I absolutely agree with you. This is not the way holiness looks like. The Bible say the saints will judge the world. Misery loves company. Frankly, if i see a man who says his a pastor looking like Detrick Haddon with the hair and earrings; even if he has not said anything, i won't bother listening to anything he has to say about God because the God you claim to know, ought to change you first. If a man is truly in the word and has the holy spirit, he will not only stop doing things that are obviously sinful, but will reject somethings that seem innocent but affect his walk with God. I don't think he is even born again but if he ever was then he has gone far far far away from God.
Scripture instructs us to do everything to the glory of God, yet pastors like Haddon and Murphy make church about us. There is no "special ministry" given by God that nurtures self-indulgence! God seeks those who worship Him in spirit and truth. A New Year's Eve church gathering should be centered around engaging in activities of worship--singing, praying, and hearing teaching that renews our minds and inspire our hearts to abide in faith, hope and love while diffusing the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ wherever we find ourselves in the upcoming year. The carnally-minded continually seek after RELEVANCE for self while the spiritually-minded true worshipper desires REVERENCE for God. If our goal is merely to keep our minds entertained while exciting our flesh then we might as well stay home and worship ourselves! Our focus when gathering for times of worship should be to excite the pleasure of God.
You made so many valid points. Thank you for saying SOME of these preachers at the end. Not all of us live as carnal Christians. Many of my fellow prophetic worshippers, minstrels, psalmists brothers and sisters also preach the Word of God would never condone any of this behavior. Please be careful not to lump us all together. As followers of jesus, we are constantly to be growing in some things and out of other things. There will not be any secular artist for music in happen. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is I heaven. 1 Peter 4:17-19 judgment MUST begin at the house of God. I too agree that just because you are gifted in one area does not mean that you are to pastor a church.
