It’s getting alittle closer but I still have a bunch of stuff to install yet plus my wife bought herself a sled to ride this season that I started working on also so I have 2 projects going on at once. 😁
Thanks Blake !! A lot more to come buddy. Just ordered some Looney “TUNES” from Hurricane. Gotta keep up wit that new Assault Boost on the lake. 😉 Shhhhhh…🤫
When I was adding all the upgrades the sled had 717 miles on it from my trip to Upper Maine the end of last season. So I have ashtray ridden it. I knew I was going to increase the horsepower so the upgrades needed to be done. These red silicone charge tubes are for higher boost the turbo use puttingnout now. At first I just wanted the red tubes to go with my sled wrap I still have to install. The Thundercat has a 270 hp tune in it now and all these upgrades were to handle the higher horsepower the motor's putting out. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Garth, If it were me and your dealer is close by I’d take it back and get the 0W-40. The main concern I would have is just making sure the first Number is zero so when it’s really cold out the motor cranks over and oil flows easier with really cold temps. The 30 isn’t going to damage your motor it’s just not a high of viscosity when the motor is warm. Take Care
Thanks speeder, The red is going to look way better with the deviant ink wrap I’m going to install on the sled at the very end of the accessories being installed. 🤙🏼 You’ll have to wait and see 😉
Hey Jim, I actually installed them to give the motor area a bit of contrast to match the Deviant Ink wrap instead of having it all black . The Silicone Charge Tubes can handle higher PSI in boost if down the road I wanted to increase the boost pressure over stock. 😉👍🏼
At first they were just cosmetic for the red color but when I decided to tune the sled, now they’re needed for the increased boost of the higher hp tunes. Stock charge tubes won’t hold up to higher boost levels. 👍🏼
@@BroBob1254 Yes sir.. The stock charge tubes are fine with the 225 tune. No other mods required, just the flash. Very easy. The 225 Flash runs quiet with the stock muffler and with incredible power increase while providing quick spooling and better then stock fuel mileage. Hurricane claims it works best with 87 Octane.
@@SometimeIsNow That's incredible! You gain 45 HP (or less if Yamaha is under rating) and you gain fuel mileage and run on cheaper gas!! Yamaha must know about this? Do you flash other sleds besides yours?
@@BroBob1254 Right now the Yamaha 998 is underrated by Yamaha and their claims of 180hp is at higher elevations. They have said that at sea level it's 200hp all day long but never below 180hp at 4,000 to 8,000 ft of elevation. I purchased the flasher from Hurricane so I own it just in case I ever had to go back to Stock for any reason.. I haven't flashed anyone else's sled but Hurricane said it can be used on more than just my sled as I asked if I could flash my buddy (RichOutdoors) '22 T-cat and they said yes. He just has to purchase the software flash and they'll load it into my flasher account and I just download it and load it in his sled.
