Fixing the surging issue on my Predator 9000 watt generator from Harbor Freight after setting without being ran for a few months. DIY Winter prep Fall chores Power outage Readiness Sta-bil Bad gas
Thanks for your info-clip and yes, I do have same generator and the first thing I did was disconnect the throttle spring since I can't stand to have a cold engine run @ ~ 3,750 rpm when started, mine is idling at about 1,000 rpm until it warmed up. The 2nd thing I did to the Predator was removing all the stupid stickers which I didn't like to look at all the time. I haven used mine yet and will do the 2nd oil change soon after having the engine idle at ~1,000 rpm for about an hour before putting it back to sleep after draining the fuel out of the system and put some oil in the carburetor. Take care and good luck with your generator!
I don’t like it running such a high RPM at startup either! Good idea! Sounds like it will last a long time with such good care! Mine is still doing good too! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
First time I've ran it and headed over a year but the hurricane came. It surges like crazy and really sucks up gas. Most of the time I'm driving to the store to get 10 more gallons. It uses more than my car
