If you don’t want to do the whole 10hr break in but you do want to do some sorta break in I would recommend running the engine easy for about 10 minutes or till it’s up to full temperature shut it off and let it cool down. Do that about 3 or 4 times that’s the best quickest way to do some sort of break in. I was told this by an engine builder awhile ago.
You can easily remove that top plate and that tank will mount directly to the top of the engine. Then lose the pulse pump and run a gravity line to the carb.
@@bowhunterdave the ghost engine does not have a mechanical governor. Pull the case apart. It has a coil with a 6k rev limiter. It’s not an exact 212 block
You cannot mount a tank to it. The holes are different. Also someone mention the gravity line to carb. The pulse pump is the way to go. That is the way this engine was designed. It does have a crappy fly wheel. You may wanna put a bill flywheel in it. I put a torque converter on mine ghost. It def pulls off much faster. Top end speed losing a little but as far as hills go. Torque Converter is life. I'm 6foot 220 pounds I had the Coleman rt200 up over 50 mph.
Nice build! I put a Ghost in my BT200 along with a torque converter. No fuel pump, just mounted the tank on top of the engine. I can hit 50 with it, lotsa fun!!
You were turning the main jet screw, for high speed control adjustment. The idle screw is to the right, directly in line with the cable. It controls the slide
I just put the ghost in my rt200. Working out some kinks but she rips! Got it up to 59 mph straight chained 6:1 ratio. 51mph and wheelies from a stop with the jugg on it.
27:50 lmao yeah the "idle" screw got ya.. man if anyone has seen American Graffiti this makes me think of the opening scene so much. Nice demo of the motor though been on the fence about getting one. I'll be re-watching that part a few times
If you remove the plate the fuel pump mounts to you can use a regular style tank for these and run a gravity fed line to the carb. I know you said in a previous comment yours doesn’t have tabs, but it’s does. That’s what the plate mounts to. Then buy an Amazon exhaust and you could have saved the $200 on that kit. $20 for a tank and $20 for an exhaust.
lol that first part when ya started it was hilarious them things engage soon as it’s running with them clutches could be scary for the younger riders first experience 🤔🤗👍
@@BryanSturman92well what about a video hooking up the on off switch on the handlebars instead of the one that comes on the side of the motor? I’m struggling with mine I can’t figure it out. I’m mechanically inclined I just don’t have enough experience with small engines. Just did the motor swap with the Predator 224cc and that’s all I have left to do
i just built my first 212...ported head, isky cam..they are fun as hell. The 6k limiter in that coil is trash...but a easy fix just throw a stock 212 coil on it.
The only problem I've found so far installing this on my bt200x is the intake manifold extension in the accessory kit makes the filter rub the rear tire
@SecondSunofficial yea you can use the one in the kit if you slide the engine a bit or pull back the rear tire, with no rear suspension it has no way to contact but it will be pretty close
For the brake in you don’t need to run it for 10hrs if you ride it with governor in your hood but if you take it out the brake in is 3 hrs with the governor in
What happened to break in, 6000 isn't breaking it in...Better check bearings after over reving motor. Rings never seated in, going to have blow bye. The piston probably egg shaped from excessive heat being new. I'm very familiar on the Predator 212 motor. And I always run a tank of 93 through the motor, and change oil before hammer it. Good luck on yours.
Bro it’s a couple hundred dollar harbor freight engine lol. It’s been running just fine to this day and we have beat the crap out of it. If it goes bad I’ll just snag another lol
I’m not waiting 10 hrs🤣😂👍🏼.. You scored on that bike buddy..You’ll have a blast.. Finally finished mine in November ,ride it every weekend.. Great build. Nice neighborhood too. Digin all those tall green trees.Invest in a good helmet, protect your noodle..Greatings from CA✌🏼
Got one for my 8 y/o this past December and the damn motor hops so much, it keeps throwing the chain!! I slid the motor up as far as it would go to tighten the chain and all it did was wear out the roller, then the chain from hitting the roller bolt! Im gonna either try some motor mount bushings or have a thicker plate welded on! I decided to buy online new in the box so i wouldn't have to mess with anything, because im lazy rather than marketplace to save a few hundo!
You need to run the muffler that header pipe was built and specs for peak performance. It want have all the torque that it should because it needs that muffler to hold the proper amount of back pressure. For as break in 1 hour tops if the rings don't seat in that time frame they never will. Also change the oil after break in. Next throw that clear line in the trash use either approved gas line or blue line.
i got a 212 hemi no governor pz22 racing spark plugs and exhaust it goes 41 and I'm 190... my stage 2 motor does 70 i think the ghost is a rip off you can do all the upgrades with the same 212 (reg) motor and a new carb... spend half and get the same results
Buddy, the fuel pump is vacuum powered. You don’t need the fuel pump if the tank is above the engine. The tank is gravity fed which means it can go straight to the carb.
Can you get a different coil and bypass the 6000 rev limiter and if you do so is the rest of the engine capable of handing the excessive RPM besides probably needing a Flywheel to prevent It exploding on your leg LOL Would you need anything else besides that?
It would help if u kept the back wheel off the floor on a block of wood for the first time start up just in case things like that happen till u get it right, nice (mini bike) u got. My pit bike has gears, big front and rear suspension and big nobbly dirt bike tyres coz a pit bike is a smaller version of a dirt bike, motocross bike. 💯💯💯💯🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Should of added shims for the clutch, those allens screws on clutch will get loose. I hqve a doodlebug db30 with 212. Has billey rod/flywheel, mod 2 cam. With a 12/70 it runs at 51 but launches hard. Now went bigger cam & going 15t clutch & just meed to port my cylinders heads & see how faster it runs.
@@BryanSturman92 yes same engine and kit. My bike frame is a Baja warrior bike tho so little bit bigger so length of cable would have to be about 50 In
Please don’t call the Ghost Engine a “fully built race engine”. It’s really not. That engine with the upgrade kit is $450. You can build a regular Predator 212cc with more HP, Torque, Higher RPM and more reliable for $450
You should rotate the pull cord housing so the pull cord is facing backwards. You almost ran yourself over because you have to start it from the front of the bike.
If u didn't press the throttle it wouldn't have toke off u can hear u press it twice. The fine mixture screw is or should be set to 2/2 n half turns out anticlockwise and 4/3 n half turns out max anticlockwise it's used for fine fuel adjustment, so if u have to screw it IN clockwise nearly all the way in to get it to rev up you need a smaller main fuel jet and if u have to unscrew it more thn 3 n half to 4 turns out or more to get it to rev up u need a bigger fuel jet. So whn u have the right fuel jet u can use that mixture screw for fine fuel adjustments for a smaller adjustment to get it just right, if its 4 and abit turns out and it works good go one fuel jet size bigger and reset the mixture screw to 2 n half turns out,,,, always tune an engine whn its upto temperature not whn its cold. And although the idle screw is called a idle screw it's there to set how big of a gap there is whn the throttle is let off so it stays running most smallish carbies the gap shouldn't be bigger than 2mm (check google for your carbs settings) if it is it needs a bigger starting/choke jet, 💯💯👍👊
I had to take a link out and move the tensioner all the way back. The tensioner didn’t have enough travel by itself to take all the slack out. Wasn’t enough. Trust me if it was that simple I would have done that
