Honestly His MVP Case was weak anyway. The Main reason was that Jokic cant have three in a row and the Bucks were crusing at the end. That's actually why I think Jokic will win it again. I think a lot of people will feel that they made a mistake not giving it to Jokic last season. And they'll want to make up for that mistake.

And yeah, I'm not sure Joel even cracks the top 5 this year. Philly is a mess right now. And like you said, the narrative against him is gonna be strong. It's like how after 2020 when Giannis won his 2nd MVP but then flamed out in the 2nd round of the playoffs, people were never going to vote for him in 2021. Voters are gonna want to see him get over that hump before they hand out any more awards to him.

Yeah, his numbers were already awesome in Brooklyn last year but because he only went there halfway through the season his full-season numbers don't look that crazy. I think a lot of people may not realize what he did in Brooklyn and that he's already improved. They'll just see a big jump in his averages this year and that will be enough for him to win.

Victor is clearly the best rookie already here in preseason, and I am certain he will finish out the best. Nobody in the league, or in league history can do what this man can do. Victor Wembanyama could be the first rookie to win MVP if he can average a double double with 3 blocks and 7 assist, with the way he’s been playing already.. I mean the guy can average a triple double with his assists, if he gets the playing time.

He was well on track to threepeat and then voters pick the clearly worse Embiid just because voters fatigue (I’m guilty of it as well) only for him to have the most disappointing playoff run of any star player last season while Jokic won the championship and Finals MVP in dominating fashion. You’d think voter fatigue would be working against Jokic, but I expect voters to feel remorse for not giving it to him last year and I also expect him and his team to have just as much regular season success as last year. And in no way is this current version of James Harden a superstar. If anything, between Jokic and Giannis and also anyone else who could possibly finish top 3 in voting this season, it’d be hard to find a legitimate candidate who has a worse second option than Embiid does. And you’d think that works in Embiid’s favor, but voters are going to have a horrible taste in their mouths after Embiid cried for an MVP despite continually falling short in the playoffs.
