Atleast five of these goals would be ruled out by VAR these days. This is what I miss. The uphoria of that winning goal. Now, same thing happens, but hang on everyone, lets stand around for five minutes whilst VAR checks a player collision 30 yards away that happened 2mins before the goal

I remember watching it live on tv, I was only 17 years old. Now I'm already 43 years old. 29 years of supporting this football club all the way from Malaysia. I'm still waiting for trophy.. I believe Eddie Howe will b the man to end our team looongg trophy drought #NUFC #Magpies #ToonArmy

How was it even legal to have Shearer, Ferdinand, Asprilla AND Ginola on the same pitch, in the same team, at the same time? Peace was never an option

This is a brilliant idea to post classic games!!! Please keep 'em coming. Love it 😁 Our 4 - 3's were built on classically terrible Newcastle defending and I loved it! Now that I'm older I much prefer the 6 - 1's and 8 - 0's. So much kinder on my heart 😅

Is there any chance you could a series on former players? Something like a where are they now. It would be interesting to find out what happened to the likes of Robbie Elliott, Steve Watson etc.

Have you got the Howay 5-0 highlights? 😁 Edit: even better - you have the full 90 minutes! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3FSdoJ56kxw.html

No, the FA historians in the archives still got access to the 52 minute highlights of specific games.

I watched this match on tv, at my home in Serbia. I am Red star fan, but in England I support Leicester city. This Leicester team(with young Heskey) had great potencial, they could beat any team...but not Shearer. Must admit that I thought that sometime he is overrated, but after this performance.... I think he is greatest English striker(altought I remember older Gary Lineker)

One of the best games I've been to. You'd think the commentator would of got a bit more excited after that last minute winner 😂

Remember this game so well! Shearer was anonymous for 75 minutes, then he scored a hat-trick!

Only the toon can produce such heart attacks and thrillers. Rob Lee was magic with his final ball delivery. What a goal for the winner. Shearer's shot power is only rivalled by Gabriel Batistuta's.
