Yesterday was the 9th anniversary of the film Pannaiyarum Padminiyum. It shows the owner’s love for his Padmini car in a beautiful way. Watched this film in theatre back then. Feel good movie ❤️

Very nostalgic ... My father had this car ... I practiced driving in this car for the 1st time ... Hand gear ... Semma engine ... Semma suspension (rear was leaf suspension and my dad had added an extra strip to increase the ground clearance) ... Factory fitted tinted glass ... Adequate space ... Loved this car very much ... 😀 Premier (PAL) tried to survive the market with their Premier 118 NE after the fall of Padmini but eventually got killed by Maruti 800 ... 🤷‍♂️ A kind request Asir ... Please check if any Dolphin or Montana from Sipani is still alive ... If yes please do a video on the same ... Many do not know about the existence of these cars ... 🙂

My neighbor had this car in late 70’s and upto 90’s. It was a orange colour car. Previously he had the Fiat Blue color. Cars were very rare in those days as Ambassador was the only car. I was watching Mark II, III, IV cars in 80’s.

My dad owned this very same car in the vid about 5 or over 5 years ago…had great memories with it….it had regular seats instead of the bench seats….the cracks on the steering spokes the very same fan…a different exhaust tip….the same gauges the very same switches…the same door straps….a red back seat….a tail light behind the rear wind screen which never worked….was super sad when he sold it…I’d never thought I’d see this car ever again but seeing this here brings back so many memories…Thankyou guys!

After watching this video. I could recollect my memories. 1996 - 2002 I own Padmini 1977 (TMW 7453). THANK YOU

nice old memories Premier Padmini is normally used by Doctors and well known as Doctors Cars in 70-80 period.

That bag is for the windshield washer system. Original Padmini had a "mechanical" washer with a rubber siphon pump underneath the steering. The radiator temperature gauge and the Amp gauge are not original.

Premier Padmini is real God for our family. My grandpa late mr.somu was diver for actress Padmini. She owned a Padmini. Literally this car pushed our family to another level.

We had 3 premiere cars 1966, 68, and 71 models. I learned driving by this car. Still it is golden memory.

We weren't rich to own a car when I was a kid. I didnt get enough chance to travel in these marvelous machines. I used to buy toy / cheap scale models of these cars to know how these cars' interiors are. I now own state of the art advanced cars but my childhood dreams still hold good Thank you Motowagon for showing these classic cars and how they feel to drive like. A big thanks for the owners as well to let us explore their cars.

My dad had this car back in 1992. White Padmini brought from Bombay. Nostalgic. So many memories. He still loves a well maintained Fiat.

I had a super select. Now having 137D. With original floor gear, original tyres, ash tray, oscilating fan. Top speed 110 without strain.

Thank you MW team for the video on this gem of a car. It brings back fond memories. 😍 My grandfather had a 1996 diesel model 137D with a column shift. He used to take such good care and do the regular services with his trusted mechanic. He taught me to check the radiator water level and top it up. Watching him slotting the gear was fantastic. I remember the colour was called " Panama Ivory". We survived without a single scratch in the front bench seat when a govt bus crashed the car from behind at the foot of a bridge. The car was repaired and came back as good as new. The Padmini is perfectly propositioned, it's tough to realize it's a sub 4m sedan. Compared to the M800 which had one key for door, ignition, boot and petrol tank, the Padmini had 4 different keys. 😜. I remember there was a bulb with a switch in the left side engine bay.

2001 i was a trainee in TVS ..it's the period lot of changes in automotive industry. Fiat Padmini one side in garage and Fiat Uno, Fiat sieana other of the garage. Also launching Fiat palio, Sachin in advertisement. Thanks for the video, it reminds my past

My First Car.. White FIAT.. Excellent car with Drivability and Comfort.. Steering Comfort will be similar to present Hydraulic Steering and Suspension will be Fabulous with Hand Gear and Sofa Seat.. Maintained till 2011.. and forced to sell due to non availability of proper mechanics.. Less Maintenance with more comfort.. Three simple pulleys inside the door, with the help of Simple Gear wire operate the Door Glass lever. .. I traveled a lot with my family to various places in Tamilnadu and Kerala in my FIAT.. Disadvantage is Radiator Boiling, and Milage.. Highways I used to go at a speed of 90 to 110 kmph.. Excellent memories.. On purchasing a Ford Figo in 2011, I was finding it difficult to drive FIAT due to the variations in the Front breaking systems..( Drum in FIAT and Disc in Figo)

Asir, sir, a big thanks to you for this video. My Appa had Premier Padmini only. I was fortunate enough to drive both hand gear and floor gear models as a young kid. The love for Padmini never fades in heart. Really nostalgic memories. Just awsome

Apart from traveling comfort the self centring steering is brilliant and sunshade was an accessory. Left headlight ring will have a groove for cornering.

As well from 1994 to 2002 we had Premier 118 NE an excellent car with awesome suspensions which will give a floating effect. The only problem with that car was the frequent electrical malfunction.
