Probably not, but I’ve heard that people suffer insurance revoked and not paid by wearing tyres on their cars which are not advised by the car manufacturer.

Appsuatly rubbish what he's saying I use budget tyres all the time like autogreen arrowspeed zeetex and they are fantastic it just seems to be a commercial for continental.
This is BS, what about mid range tires from China, the are 30% of the cost of high end and the diff is zero for driving on public roads. I've tested on my rig they are perfectly fine, quiet hold the road and stop on a dime. Only diff maybe is they wear faster ( but I am not sure ). All tires are rated and tested as SAFE.
Not all budget tyres are bad, some are quite decent, I always check the reviews of previous users and go for mid range.. Of course budget will never perform like the big boys, the price difference has to come from somewhere.
