Lanier, you are the modern "Renaissance" man. I simply love your place with the manicured lawn and the spacious open format of your house. One thing for certain, you were not going to have any food exploding all over the place. Finally, love the creativity with the chairs. Your are the ideal host and entertainer!!!
Awww DWN4FUN thank you so much. It has been something like 28 years since I had a dinner party! My studio in San Francisco was just too small. LOL. I could never get more than one person into that spot for dinner. Oh but I did have one cocktail party three. 25 people cammed in drinking and smoking. I was pretty wild! Cheers.

I love that you are serving fishberry jam as a hors d'oeuvre! A little caviar is also amazing as a topper for deviled eggs. I love the casual elegance that you have brought to your home as well. Sheers on the patio chairs is just genius! I have a Julia Child hint for ya--I buy Martini and Rossi white vermouth in the 1.5 litre bottle and use it for anything that calls for a dry white wine--sauces, poaching, impromptu martinis, etc. It's also great for adding to something that needs to loosen up just a bit. M&R keeps in the pantry for a good 6+ months and adds a lovely flavor to just about anything. plus, it saves a fortune in Good White Wine for cooking!!! Gallo has a strange herb-y bitter thing when cooked down. I used to use a lot of Gallo vermouth for cooking, but I find the couple bucks that I spend on M&R really makes a difference. Plus, the bottle is just so damn sexy!

Oh that chicken dish looks so amazing. I love anything with chili! Tonight we are heading to wine country to have dinner with friends! We are taking chicken korma with a lime cashew rice. For the sweet after nibbles, I made capezzoli di venere :). Also known as Nipples of Venus.... truffles made with brandy, chestnuts, dark and white chocolate! I hope your dinner went magnificently! It is a glorious cook book! The champagne, also, cannot be faulted. Now I am inspired to buy the Bergdorf Goodman cookbook, but it must wait. I have just bought the new Joan Crawford biography. Where books are concerned, I lack discipline. These days I have decided to start having Bibliographic Discipline! BG can wait. Joanie is just that little bit more important!
