Racer X Garage Episode 97: I found out during our last video that I had an issue with the rear drum brakes on the Dakota. We certainly cannot complete a 900 mile journey on junk rear brakes, so they have to be fixed. I did my best to try to go into some detail in case anyone needs the info on how to replace them for 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota's. However, this is pretty much the same for many dodge vehicles from the 1970's to the early 2000's.

Hey man! Love the videos, I’m in the middle of kind of restoring/ putting back together my 92. You wouldn’t by chance have some parts for a single cab I can buy? Can I email you or direct message you somehow if that’s a possibility? There ain’t anything in my parts for a parts truck or anything. Facebook groups haven’t been any help either.

Oh man, we don't really have anything extra anymore. All the parts that needed replaced on our couple Dakotas we pulled off the donor and then scrapped. Your best bet may be finding a parts truck below the rust belt to buy and ship to your place if youre having trouble finding one where you live. Good luck! They're out there just got to stay with it

What did you do for a drive shaft?

I had a custom 4 inch driveshaft built. I always recommend calling your local drivetrain shop when ready. Ask them how they want you to measure it. Then measure it up and go from there

Started this project a year ago watching all your videos along the way!Been barting or trading work for parts, did the harness myself after hours of research, I finally heard it run the other day for the first time! 1993 dodge dakota 6.0 4l80e 2wd.

@@RacerXGarage I had to flatten the pinch welds around the bell housing and there was not enough room for a stock Trans dip stick everything else clears fine. Even used your shift linkage ideas.
