Hola Ed, Can you explain what your "Glomex"antennae does? Thanks. Also, I like the way you modified the solar frames as to not obstruct the view from the aft cockpit. I am using "Yacht Care Services" for aftermarket in Les Sables and will suggest something like this to them.
Hi Briggs. The Glomex antena is my TV antena but to be honest I never used it, as the internet is so good in Europe so always use internet for TV streaming. I used Robbin Marine for the Solar panel support. They are right beside SAS. If you need anything I have the specs here, but just tell Thomas from Robbin Marine that you want the support just like JOY, he will know. Anyhow, I am here for whatever you need! Best Ed
Guys - what’s the maximum dimensions of any new extended support for your new solar panels? Is there a standard restriction as to how far towards the back edges of your sugar scoops you can go as far as width & length?
I don’t think there is a writing restriction for it. I have seen some supports holding 6 solar panels and others going so far back that I could not believe it. Anyhow, we designed one that attended our needs and was pleasing to ours eyes ! Best Ed
Yes ! A huge difference. Almost like night and day, but don’t get me wrong. The L42 is awesome it is just different in terms of comfort and performance. I am glad I went for the L42 first as the L46 is more demanding.

For blue water cruising, it would be best to start with a different brand of boat. One that is designed and built for ocean sailing. Lagoons are charter party boats designed for coastal cruising.
We chose a Lagoon to go around the world since we will use the equator router. I have done it before with a L42. Indeed it was blue water cruising at some crossings. Just like in anything in life you will find without a doubt more suitable equipments (boats) for blue water cruising. For our needs and wants it works great. All the best.
@@sailingangler5379 unfortunately not ! That amount was just for the stainless steel support. It was a new project as all of them have a tube going down to the scoop which I don’t like as it obstructs the view.

Spoiler, we just crossed the bay of biscay and went well up to the last night that forecast was much stronger than anticipated and to complete our main halyard got cut ! Fixing it all here under warranty as it is a recurrent L46 issue. All the best.
