Thanks for making your videos! I am renovating all the old windows in my house and had no idea what I was doing (and whoever glazed and painted them years ago didn't either). I am learning a lot from you!

How soon can you apply putty after the linseed oil? No turpentine?

The putty can be applied very soon after the linseed oil ! I’ve just wiped I off the excess and got started before, but I like to give it a little time, say 30 minutes or so before glazing. The turpentine mainly plays the role of fast drying. Has a wonderful, clean, pine smell to it that is overwhelming for most. But I love it!! But in this case it is not necessary, because the boiled linseed oil penetrates quickly into the dry wood, and doesn’t interfere with the glazing putty

Linseed oil then prime with oil based primer then putty?

You can use linseed oil, or oil based primer. But you don’t need both. Just one or the other, before the putty
