It just feels so good to know that if I want to reroll and play an alt, my progress from the first character shouldn't be lost. Such a good feeling. I never play my first choice. Usually by week 2 of the xpac I catch class feelings and switch to a better fit and don't change from there. It's weird, but that's how it is for me.
Agree on the "skyriding". I'm happy that flight is available, but steady flight is my preferred method. I'm even more happy that you took the time to show that the quests are actually doable without flying - just as older expansions were that required us to walk all over before being able to fly.
Also, transferring gold across server is now possible with the Warband Bank. Mailing gold across server won't work, you have to deposit the gold into the warbank, then go to the server you want to withdraw the gold, and withdraw it. This is testable in the 11.0 PTR.
Initially I was disappointed to find out that you had to do a pathfinder achievement to get "ye olde flying" until I saw your ground mount adventure. What a great way to explore and fully immerse yourself into the new zones. Who cares if it takes longer as I'll bet it's more interesting and much more fun. I actually really like dragonriding, especially with Taliesin's " upward flick trick" but steady flying allows for precision landing and mob avoidance. I would love it if Blizz had an achi and title for this - how about "It's a Breeze" or " Shoot the Breeze" or "Easy Breezy" after you and your suggestion.
I have put in an ingame suggestion that your idea of a no fly pathfinder achi should be an achi in itself. Thank you for showing us it can be done and be so fun. Optimists are the go-getters and do-ers in the world and are not obnoxious - unless you are a diehard pessimist. Optimists are also happier. I have been playing since BC and always did the pathfinder as soon as i could, but i never minded exploring the world for the first time, ground travel only.@SoulSoBreezy
I do wish they'd leave at least a few "old school" flyers - like the various disks - both because they feel weird being swoopy, and because every now and then a mount without a vigor counter is just more useful - gathering comes to mind, as does anything where the landing needs to be very precise. Yes - you can toggle modes, but a 5 second cooldown (there and back) is forever. In a perfect world, we could toggle the default flying mode per mount, but maybe in patch 12.0.
I've been going pretty hard on the Beta for the past month now and what I can say is I am genuinely looking forward to prepatch/release. Being able to collect transmogs for all my toons, being able to send gear I can't equip to an alt in the warband bank, and having more flying mount options appeals to me massively. Personally I've played most of the zones from a ground perspective in order to better take the environment in and look for secrets and such. The exception to that is Azj-Kahet, it definitely feels better being able to fly around in that zone imo.
I'm always hyped for more quests, leveling, mounts, mogs, battle pets and hunter pets to tame, every expansion. For TWW though, aside from those, I'm hyped for the Warband stuff, the bank options, sharing currencies, the transmog changes, the character select screen, delves and a few other smaller random things. I admit being more hyped for DF, but I'm always excited for a new expansion when it gets this close.
I'm super hyped about war within and warbands, BUT I'm upset since on the beta, I cannot place a crafting order for an alt on another realm which makes no sense to me. If we can place guild crafting orders and guilds are now cross-realm, then I should be able to do so if my character is in a different guild/realm too. They could just create a separate crafting order type for warband (vs guild/personal/public)
I'm gathering aoe and boe also professions almost everything sell in action house to get ready for pre patch plus expansion will level up low levels when pre patch hits 😊I'm looking forward to it
Currently on a break since March this year. Kinda sad I didn't do it after season 1,cause now I've missed remix rewards and I'll miss the expansion pre patch, launch and prob the first half of an expansion, that actually seems exciting... As we all know excitement with wool is rare these days so that s why I'm a bit sad I'm missing. I can only hope Midnight will be better and my RL stuff would be settled by then. Cause I initiated my break, cause of game complaints, but since I am on a break I decided to do some challenging stuff Irlanda now I've gotta follow through. Good luck to me and wow. Hopefully a better future is ahead. Thanks for a nice vid, Soul.
you still have a month of remix, takes 2-3 hours to level a time runner toon, you get about 100k in bronze just from leveling, if you do all the quests etc you get another 200k especially now they've doubled the bronze you get, really wouldnt take too long to get all the mounts and toys, transmog, well depends what you want but it's definitly worth it, if you want fast queues, go healer though isnt like you'd need to do much healing as the content is easy
They did have it at level 10 with Remix so nice for leveling :) I do want the pathing on the map that D4 has where I can click a space on the map and it'll show on the minimap the path to get there. But I guess there are add-ons for that.
As someone who isn’t a new-new player, but who only just took a character through the Exile opening, I didn’t notice any faction hype… so my guess is it won’t be noticed by them, either?
Looks good man … only 2 classes left to 70 in MoP remix. Wish we would have gotten another class to even out race / class combos. Guess my OCD will have to struggle through.
I copied my main to the beta just so i can skyride around on Invincible :D. I've had a personal guild bank going all the way back to TBC, so I don't think i'll be buying all the tabs. i'll use it for crafting probably, and keep the junk i've been holding on to in my guild bank
I just hope they make the swap between skyriding and old flying instant if you're on the ground. Currently it looks like it will have a cast time. I very much prefer old flying, but I use dragonriding for going longer distances. As it stands right now, I'll have to figure out which mounts aren't allowed to skyride (they said there were a few that can't), and bind one of those, leaving my favorites button to do skyriding. Currently it's the opposite for me (favorites for non-dragonriding), so this means I'll end up spending a lot less time on my favorite mounts.
I am pumped for the expansion but don’t really care much for the pre-patch, will mess around with it a little bit but I’ll be playing sod until launch day
my issue with the bank cost is its pushed as a place for mats yet folks like my self have been doing that very thing with a private guild bank & has mobile banking
Thank you for doing some of the game on non-flying mounts. I spent the most of dragonflight on a non-flying mount. War bands will be interesting for me...we shall see.
Just dropped 4 stacks on a new PC build. It's all gonna be here by the 19th, just in time to throw it all together for the pre-patch.....i9 14900KF CPU, 4060TI GPU, 4x16GB Crucial Dominator RAM, 4x2tb Crucial PCI.E m.2 SSD's, MSI MAG 360MM Liquid cooling, ASUS RoG STRIX 49" curved 5k HDR Monitor w/ 165hz refresh 1000 wat MSI PSU, MSI MAG Tomohawk MOBO. Bro's not gonna have to upgrade for a while to come :D. Razer Headset and Mechanical Keyboard. Steaming mic and camera. Ya bois about to go full time streamer 10+ hours daily lol. Sim setup soon to come possibly as well.
I used to have five characters, but I downshifted to only two, no time to play- haven't been in guild in many years because of my work schedule and I do like to solo crap. Still have crap in bank tabs since 2004, I'm a hoarder and need help :)
Out of the 50 videos I’ve watched about what is coming, you’re the only one who has mentioned the no pants mog. So thank you for being thorough. Also I thought class tokens were going to be mailable to alts or did I imagine that?
I didn't test it myself so I while you can def trade them via WB, not sure if you can simply mail them. Functionally I don't see why that shouldn't be the case.
Warband features are cool but trading the insanely cool class backdrops for characters like demon hunters/undead/dks is such an L for some bs little campfire hoping they implement class based ones
Ok for professions..im going to do jewelcrafting and minning..also do you have a guide as to the specializations where to put the best points...or first max out the profession so you gathering all you specialization point at the end ..an then start assigning them..how do you do it..that mostly effect and seamless
I haven't fully decided which profession to cover next - it might be blacksmithing cause I know I can get that out somewhat quickly but I'll eventually cover them all!
With the coming Warbands, I wonder how some of the old reputations work. If you are for example Exalted with Bloodsail Buccaneers on one character, and then Hated with them on another, how does it combine them then?
How did you complete Manifesto Destiny (The quest where you hand out pamphlets) without dragonriding? I keep running around the quest area on my ground mount and nothing is happening.
Do you know if the gathering profession specializations that allow us to gather while mounted will still work in TWW? I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet...
If the concern is "I can't use one form of flying and the one I can use is locked behind questing" then the answer isnt "you can do this all on the ground" because it doesnt solve the issue.Skyriding causes accessibility issues, just let people use normal flying, there's no fundamental issue solved by barring normal flying aside from tradition for pathfinding to be a thing.
"We want the first experience to have a certain immersive feel before we cut you loose" My words not theirs but it's a design decision. Somewhat similar thinking as to why we have to do zones in a certain order the first time and not afterwards. Not even suggesting we just agree and roll over, but at least see where they're coming from.
If the issue is accessibility then they have solved it with the ground workaround actually. I question whether you really care about accessibility issues. I suspect you’re using it as a crutch because it’s the fancy buzzword that gamers cry because they want to complain about not getting something they want.
@@SoulSoBreezy I don't know what immersiveness is there with skyriding but lost with regular flight. Especially for people who for motion sickness can't engage with skyriding. What do they gain from being groundbound? I get the "no flying til story is done" but it's a way bigger ask to say "only skyriding or ground is immersive"
@@no-budhee6657 you don't solve an in game flight accessibility issue with ground mounts. I get that certain words bring out the contrarians but for real your argument is lethally stupid.
That's where we fall into a trap where we say sky riding and steady flight are the same form of travel, simply different kinds of flight. VERY easy to agree on this. However I don't think the devs ever saw steady flight in this way because of how it immediately creates this separation between the player and the game world. It's like a noclip hack, walking through walls sort of immersion breaker. Meanwhile skyriding still obeys the laws of the game world. Take in all that has changed in the past few years with nearly account wide everything, alt friendliness and dissolving the faction divide, but under all that is this Pathfinder "red line." At the end of the day, it's the way the devs want to design the experience.
I think my WoW excitement just vanished after the first few months of Dragonflight... I don't know, it just doesn't feel fun to play anymore. It's been like that for me in the last few expansions. I bu them only to play for like 2 months and then don't play until the next xpac. I think I'm done boys and girls. Time for new players to step in and hopefully Blizz gives you something good. O7
I’ve been playing since Vanilla and I’ve accepted it. I usually play for the first couple months of each expansion. Probably for the better, why should I play this all year every year.
The way I see it, they had several competing design goals: 1) wanting to make us walk through the campaign to FEEL and APPRECIATE the world they so meticulously designed, 2) wanting to design a vertical world that allowed them to carry Skyriding into the next expansion and make it worthwhile, and 3) reward us for getting through the campaign with a Quality of Life improvement for doing so. If they give us Steady Flight from the beginning and reward us with Skyriding at the end, that would have accomplished those goals better IMHO. But I bet there were some quests that were already designed with Skyriding in mind as a major pillar, so they swapped it. 🤷🏽♂️
It was exactly 1 quest and that's been changed. As for later quests, world quests etc that philosophy is different and designed with steady flight being unlocked, considering the low hurdle
Do we know if they are removing the "One Dracthyr per account" rule for War Within? I don't want to have to delete my Evoker if I make a Dracthyr Mage.
In the most current testing no, the class specific direct drops don't work. ...in fairness MC and BWL didn't take that long to run, right? BUT! If there're pieces that dropped you know are super rare, I advise at least holding onto those for if/when the unlocks start working. There's still a few builds left before prepatch too!
Really hated not being able to fly in previous expansions. I had limited play time and spent so much time on just traveling. If you dont want to fly in the beginning episodes of leveling, than use your ground mount 😂.
I will never understand the fixation the ultra casuals have on "housing". Just play SWTOR then. Glad the devs are smart and dont invest thousands of man hours in something just because ppl cry like babies.
It just works. Also be aware that after the patch it won't be possible to transfer your kids accounts off your battle net account if that situation was ever desired.
I don’t understand the logic of being against sky riding. If it’s motion sickness, ok. I get that, but I think that is a problem only a minority of players face. Aside from that, why would you want to cripple yourself by going slow?
Good video, now if you can get blizzard to massively fix the broken profession system beyond what they did so fat that would be great… the fix for TWW is analogous to the current US economy… Biden received 1.45% inflation, He ran it up to 9.1%, I.e., Dragonflight professions, but reduced it to 3.1% just now, I.e., TWW, it’s still twice as bad, but ‘seems’ better, but still unnecessarily complicated, time gated, and extremely time consuming…
Is it Warcraft? Then i'm always hyped. Might not be the best (shadowlands, wod, bfa...) but it's still the WC Universe so still interesting. Pathfinder has always sucked d*&k, absolutely hate it, but this one is not entirely bad. Just pointless.
YOU missed the point of getting Dragongliding instantly and EARNING Steady Flight! I have PAID/EARNED Flying across 6 XPACS!! And AGAIN I have to EARN STEADY FLIGHT ( which I have ALREADY EARNED in DF, and need to re-earn again ), while Dragongliding shills get Dragongliding instantly at lvl 10. With Dragongliding being instant at lvl 10, there is no justification for Steady Flight required to be EARNED in TWW at lvl 70+!! YOU can shill all you like, but this disparity is nothing but pure BS.
I have a theory... there's a dev at Blizzard who was only hired to come up with Pathfinder achievements... it's his ONE JOB. He's scared of losing his job, so he keeps coming up with Pathfinder achievements for expansions that no longer have any need in any way shape or form, just to keep his job.
I feel like they way they set up leveling is just better this time around. It's obviously slower but I also didn't feel inconvenienced or annoyed over how to go around mobs. I think the difference is that this is a one time thing versus a rep grind
You could've presented how leveling on foot went and stopped at that. You say you don't want to diminish the concerns, yet here you are just going on TELLING people how they have no reason to complain. Why? Why do you need to do this? Been noticing you do this A LOT. Go out of your way to tell people they should even appreciate it. Here's the thing - it doesn't matter. As long as there is any type pf flying, locking normal flying is just spitting in the faces of disabled people who can't do it. My guild master has this issue and yeah she's gonna do it on foot but the question is WHY. It doesn't matter that it's easy, what matters is that there's a discrimination for literally no reason. You're not supposed to play a game only so it tries to make you feel bad and this does just that. Tells my GM that she's not good enough repeatedly. Last expansion she cried because she couldn't fly over to Thaldrazus. She cried and it broke my heart that she was considering quitting altogether until she asked us for help. I guess she'll just have to accept being disadvantaged in a game where she didn't have to feel like that since vanilla, right? Effin nonsense.
“It’s discrimination”…are you touched? Explain to me how every video game ever made doesn’t discriminate against totally blind people. Don’t use people’s disabilities as a crutch because you want static flight.
This reads as really misleading. I understand how you could twist my intent here but let's get my fuller quote in, I wanted to add actual facts or at least anecdotes to the conversation when before people referred to either dragonflight experience or worse, straight hyperbole. Many of these complaints are rooted in falsehoods. Your gm can feel very assured that there won't be a thaldrazsus or any kind of situation that wasn't designed for the ground first As for the rest of your comment if you want to find the bad in things you'll always find it. But in this debate I went and found the most realistic situation and presented it to viewers. We can continue to disagree but can't ignore how blizzard changed the leveling experience to be not be as remotely tied to flying as it was in dragonflight.
