I once had a ten minute argument with a toddler over whether or not I’m a kitty cat.

Getting called “mom” is nothing. I had a kindergartener call me “grandma”.

It scares me how causally they say “oh yeah I’ve been vommitted on”

The funniest thing I heard working at a pre k was a girl came up to me and asked when I was going to get married and said her mom and dad were married and her mom had another boyfriend 🤔

Been called mommy, got cute gifts, stopped naughty behavior/talk, gave "the talk", talked about death, been vomited on, had favorites, told parents about misbehavior, heard inappropriate talk, been yelled at by parents, been made fun of by kids....... Taught middle school.

I’m a preschool teacher and I’ve done all of these. Honestly, all this stuff happened every single day lol

I remember i once called our male pre-teacher mom ...

Whenever my kids would call me mommy I’d always respond “yes daughter/son?” And they’d always laugh and then correct themselves lol

“No thank you!” And - “AbsoLUTEly NOT!” “Oh NO!” “”ExCUSE me!” All animated and super dramatic lol.

As a preschool teacher of 25 years..I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!! And people don't get how our speech in a classroom is wayyyyyyyyy different than what parents say.

All of these things definitely happened to me! There was a dad that would try to hit on me , but used his child as a buffer . Like he would say ,"Adam tell Miss Alison, her hair is really pretty " or "Adam ,tell Miss Alison she looks really nice today". Meanwhile Adam was 2 and definitely couldn't say any of these things!

I think my new favorite story happened yesterday. We were going potty before nap time and one of my students had been taking awhile (he's a slow pooper) he was finally done and I heard "Miss kyla! My poop won't go down the toilet! " My teachers assistant who is relatively new started to panic as she didn't know what to do. I obviously sprint to grab the plunger and start to try and unclog it. It then starts overflowing and starts to flood the bathroom 😒 which shares a wall with our storage closet🙃 however the best part about it is the kids who are MAD because I was just about to read a story that they love when this happened as they are shouting "miss kyla! What about the book????" Like I'm sorry that there is poop water all over the bathroom 🤣🤣🤣

I wouldnt say ive had a favourite child but i have been the favourite worker, usually you get some kids who like to be around you and some who are more distanced so you dont bond with them as much but it doesnt mean i have a favourite 😂

as a pre school teacher myself, I can say we are very underpaid. we do a lot of work it's almost equals to parenting, even hard than that bcs you're taking care of 20+ children at once, teaching them too, and let me tell you it's NOT easy. don't forget the pressure of parents and school's management.

Something inappropriate: a child proclaimed to his friends during lunch or breakfast “when you get married you kiss each other’s butts!”. Had to stop from laughing. Cute present: for Christmas a parent gave me a Starbucks gift card and a Christmas card. The Christmas card had the daughters handwriting saying “I love you Ms. Sam”. I had gotten it on a particularly tough day and was drained by the end of it. When I opened it, everything was better and my heart felt happy. I clean at least one poopy diaper a day. I also get spit up on at least weekly.
