Prosecutors plan to announce a “significant development” Thursday in the case of a New York architect accused of killing four women and leaving their corpses scattered in the scrub along a coastal highway.
Rex Heuermann, 60, will appear before a judge days after police finished new, extensive searches of his Massapequa Park home and a wooded area on Long Island tied to the investigation of a string of deaths known as the Gilgo Beach serial killings.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney hasn’t said what development he plans to announce or discuss the purpose of Thursday’s court hearing.

I had a family member that was a serial killer. We had never new about his actions. We were all been compared with him and our lifes were ugly afterwards. It stay with you throughout your life even if you did not done or knew nothing. I had to change my life and name to get out from it all, always protecting yourself and family. Yes , we are victims to😢😢😢😢

Apart from that though, exists a land of " I don´t wanna know, because I kind of know, just not with me, as long as I have ...whatever", I don´t care. This is not punishable, this is just the carpet for crimes on others. In my opinion.

They did find human remains inside the house camouflaged in parts of the interior of the house. How is it possible that those who lived there at the time of the crimes have not noticed anything, like bad smell, deformed structures.....✌️🌸💙

Idt they found any remains of humans in the home. If they have they’ve not disclosed that information. However, this makes me wonder why they removed paneling from his home on this most recent search. Why would you need to remove paneling unless evidence is hiding there? Videos, laptops, sex toys he’s used on his victims, Polaroids of his handiwork?? Who knows? These are all things we won’t know for certain until the trial.

I don't know if his wife knew what was going on or not, but she should've at least suspected something. Early on, L.E. said they gathered the wife and kid's passports and the dates proved her and the kids were out of the country visiting her family.

As much as the citizens would like to know about the case, more of these details are for actually for trial the case...not bantering about with the media. This guy is not the best spokesman and I'm sure they have a lot more to do to develop in the case for presentation in court. He also isn't the best with sensitivity to the victims families. It a shame the last Chief was too busy with his own affairs to put any attention to these cases. Given how the time period has been elongated, I would suspect that there were even more victims;either from out of state or with no family to report them missing. It amazing so many devices like a computer was still owned this long after.

Now we need to identify the other three Long Island victims. Jane Doe No. 3 AKA Peaches (Doe network ID 151UFNY), her daughter Baby Doe (1323UFNY), and a man who may have been transgender (2864UMNY). Maybe RH's notes will help investigators ID them, but they've been nameless for too long and they must have family who miss them.

Disturbing indeed. I hope Rex is convicted, and I probably won't watch all of the trial, because I know I will get upset with Rex's Defense team, trying to explain how Rex is not bv their man. This evidence is clear that Rex is culpable. His DNA was found, and traces of Asa were found.
