Been awhile since I've seen the film, but if I recall correctly, I remember there being a brief moment of saying how some celebrities were aliens as well. That little bit of world building helps makes the "Elvis is not dead" line both be funnier and a lot more plausible without the need of questioning. Going to have to rewatch this movie soon after this clip.

Jay is a buffoon. He never felt "cool" to me, just a comic relief/POV character. But Kay was cool, he just knows everything, and if he doesn't know something, he deals with new situations in a calm manner, a true professional.

"Cut your engines and cool your wings" The thrusters are hidden. "And let me make it to the telephone" A phone rings. Nope. It is not a coincidence they used that song.

This has to be one of the most spot on choices for music in cinema history. The upbeat tempo and energy in a fast car scene, the dated music being played by an older agent, everything about it, even down to the cheesyness of the song matches when Will Smith is squirming around and his butt is in the camera. Best choice for a song in film history.

Long after Elvis had died there were reports of sightings of him with many believing he had faked his death. This spawned several jokes in movies around that time to show Elvis still alive. Another example was in Death Becomes Her.

The VFX of this film is amazing!!! Jurassic Park, Titanic, Terminator 2 are always remembered as a VFX revolution, but never MIB. This film are so underated. The characters are great, the villain is scary, the VFX is perfect, the humor Works every time, the story is original and creative... It's a masterpiece.

Given how people drive with cars that stay on the road and do not have thrusters that can be deployed. How bad do you think things would get if they existed. The same with flying cars. People cannot even stay in their lanes on the roads that are marked and follow the rules of the road to ensure everyone's safety. Now imagine if it is in the air. No physical lanes, how do you stop them if they are doing something wrong. Cannot just pull them over. What are you going to do shoot them down? I think that may cause some reason for concern and discontent with people. We are not ready for either form of technology.

Actualy F1 cars can go upside down, cuz they get insane force pushing them ti surface at high speed. It's just that they stil didn't build proper racing tracks with challenging routes)

I mean tbf, today there's this general feeling that less CGI is better. Its become quite stigmatized due to tons of movies in the 00s and 10s pretty much relying 90% on CGI, flashy explosions, strange creatures and whatnot with 5% actor investments and 5% the actual stories. I can probably count on my hands the number of movies in those years relying heavily on CGI that were actually decent. And then there's movies like Interstellar which curiously barely use any CGI whatsoever, but in the bits where they do use it it's just fantastic. Hell, Christopher Nolan had 500 acres of corn planted just for the car to plow through it - then he sold the corn and *made f'cking profit from it*

It will revolutionize film making doing everything from being back long dead actors to making epic scenes possible that were never even considered before, and slashing budgets along the way. Strap yourself in because it's going to be a wild ride.

I like that K actually put in an 8-track tape. Those were out of fashion in the 80's to be replaced by cassette tapes before finally going to CD's. This car has to be pretty old to have an 8-track player in it, but then it makes no sense because it has hyperjets on the back.

Part of the fun. Also notice how they turn on the jets and go on the ceiling BEFORE putting in the tape -- so there is this total scifi moment, immediately followed by using a museum piece.

Will won for Best Actor in King Richard for portrayal of Richard Williams despite the controversy earlier this year for the Chris Rock slap and banned from the Academy for 10 years, while Tommy Lee Jones won for Best Supporting Actor in The Fugitive as Sam Gerard.
