Its probably foreign investors. They can just pick up a phone and buy whatever they want. Also, because they are foreign investors - they don't need residency here, which means they don't pay property taxes. Whoever ends up buying from the investor has to pay the back tax on the property -- or -- whoever ends up renting these units has to pay the tax. In many cases, the renter is not aware of this and often receive a tax bill a couple of years later to pay the back taxes.

@@PenneySounds Probably second generation adults. The children of immigrants from the 60's and 70's. Most are flush with cash - mostly European's. Parents of off spring from that time frame too are probably helping kids with their mortgages too. We really need housing for this generation or many folks are going to retire very, very poor.
