My husband is a chef and he uses and swears my zwilling knives, now they are expensive but very well made and last a life time ☺️

I tried the four jars lids and bought a box of each and like them very much so I decided to buy a box of each for a Christmas gift and I ended up buying another two boxes for myself…. I still have been using my old Ball lids and haven’t had any fails but maybe the new ones that they’re making are no good…..just saying….. listening to Christmas music on iHeartRadio and you and your family Have a very Merry Christmas….🎄

I’m trying to finish up my Ball lids too. I won’t use them on expensive things like meat, though. Merry Christmas to you ♥️

How long does pressure canned meat last for in the pantry? Love your channel your a sweetheart ❤
@TheSheenaE
@TheSheenaE Год назад
Two questions. 1. Is the meat fully cooked after this process? 2. How long will these stay good for? Thank you for sharing!
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome Год назад
Yes. It’s fully cooked and very tender. The rule is 1-3 years. However, I would have no problem keeping it longer. I just make sure to make sure it’s still well sealed and has no bad smell. It should smell like cooked pork.

I am just getting started on canning, I bought a lot of ball lids from a recommendation, is there anything I check on the lids to see if they are good?
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome Год назад
Check the seals. Make sure they are solid with no breaks/cracks. The seal is most important. I’d try something that didn’t cost too much money until I found out that the lids are quality/reliable.

Did you add water to the pressure cooker, if so how much.
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome Год назад
It’s a pressure canner. You can not can in a pressure cooker. You always add water to any canner. 2-3 inches of water is necessary

Depends on who you ask 😆 I would still eat it 5-10 years later.

I think I successfully pressure canned onions, but I followed some instructions that said to fill the pot 2 inches above the jars. But when I was done processing, seems some of the liquid leaked out of the jars. When the lid popped and sealed, it left a residue and an onion smell on the jars. So . . . being that this was my first time, I have 7 jars of sealed onions that I'm just not sure about. Can you tell me if I did it wrong?
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome 8 месяцев назад
Firstly, you should always do your own research if you aren’t sure what you’re doing. I don’t know who you got your info from. Onions need to be pressure canned. The instructions you said you followed are not for pressure canning. That being said, your issues could be from a number of reasons. Sorry
@williampittenger67
@williampittenger67 8 месяцев назад
Ok. Thanks. I had done the research, and I just couldn't get a straight answer. People don't answer the question. I don't mean to be too obvious, but I told you what I did wrong, so may I please have the right level of water that I should fill it up?
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome 8 месяцев назад
@@williampittenger67 when I say, “research” I mean from a book on canning, not other people. The National Center For Home Food Preservation or USDA Guide to Home Canning (free online) or Ball Complete Book of Canning. While I know that some people don’t have or use pressure canners, these are the rules I follow. Pressure canners use 2-3 inches of water when preserving. Water bath canners cover the jars by 2”.
@ToniReneeAtHome
@ToniReneeAtHome 8 месяцев назад
@@williampittenger67 your canner also comes with instructions or they can be found online, from the manufacturer. You can also call the manufacturer with questions.
