Hey friend! Thanks for stopping by ToniRenee At Home, where I go by Renee. I love being a traditional homemaker. I love stocking my pantry and preserving food in many different ways. I love cooking from scratch and sometimes not-so-scratch LOL! I love teaching others how to do the same. I also love traditional home decor and DIYs, sewing and quilting. I hope you find some homemaking motivation here on my channel as I teach you how to stock your pantry and share my day-to-day life in my home and on our homestead. Please consider subscribing so you don't miss anything.
My new Amazon Storefront Link is listed below. I will add new items as we discuss them on the channel.

I’m so excited to have stumbled across your channel & content, Renee! I have a question regarding method. Anything that you are doing via pressure canner, are we able to can the same foods using the water bath method? As a newbie, I can’t justify purchasing a pressure canner just yet.
@@JH-je2kg some people will tell you, ‘yes’, because we haven’t always had pressure canners and some countries still don’t have them. However, I would not trust the process of water bath canning for foods that are prone to higher levels of bacteria and are lower in acid where bacteria can’t survive. These foods need “pressure” to kill that bacteria. My opinion is, you’re taking a huge risk in not pressure canning low acid foods like meats (I can’t imagine not pressure canning meat) and other root vegetables. Botulism, while rare in home canning (even though this is the number one fear 🤦♀️😂) lives in the dirt. Hence, the reason root vegetables need pressure canning. Sounds like a good question to base a video on, huh?
@@ADashnawMKIBC some people do. I never will. You can’t reach the same temperature and there is no pressure to kill all the bacteria. My opinion is, you’re putting yourself at risk. I can’t say that I know that for sure 😂 I’m just too chicken to try it and will never recommend that process. I know there haven’t always been PCs and they aren’t in all countries. I’m still too chicken
How long will the dehydrated veggies in the jars last on the shelves before they go bad? Im new to all this and am so excited that I found your channel. Thank you for sharing with us 💜🦋
I use a flat iron to close my Mylar bags too! Great minds think alike. Thanks for the advice in this video. I am looking for what types of foods to put in 5 gal buckets so this video was a great help. Thank you.
Thank you for this great video! I want to water bath meat, this will be my first time. Is it enough to wash my jars in hot, soapy water? I’ve seen videos where people put them in ovens to sterilize. FYI, I do not have a dishwasher. I plan to cold pack. Thank you, appreciate your help! Blessings
@@AshleyKidd-rq2kh I have lots of food that is 5 years old. I’m not afraid of any of it. However, use your own judgement. Safety standards say 16-18 months.
Howdy, Mrs Joan. I live and grew up in. I started to learn to can when I was 7 or 8 years old. I basically stopped when my Nana passed about 35 years ago. My mom passed 6 years ago and I got her canner and still haven't started canning again. Your video makes me want to start again. Now I have to start buying jars.
So happy to have found your channel. As a former educator and school principal, let me say you are an amazing teacher! Now that I am retired, I have time to garden and now want to learn how to can. Thank you for your deliberate, step by step instructions.
My husband's name is Anthony, and he says only people in his inner circle can call him Tony and my mother was going to name me Althea Renee. I like it better than my current name. My dad named me Jennifer and I am shocked because I know how much he loved Judy Garland. However, there was a celebrity named Jennifer Jones, so I guess LOL. I am enjoying your recipes and so happy you did this. I love mushrooms and this would be great to add to pizza or spaghetti or some other dish.
Hello, New subby here! Just found your videos last night and have been bingeing on them. Thank you so much for explaining all this the way you do. Now I just need to know how to figure out my altitude. I live in Ohio. You may have already talked about it in one of your videos. Will make sure to keep watching.
It's very rare that I give negative feedback. 23 minutes of life I just lost, where you could've simply put a picture with the item names, and recommended the best beginner books. Very disappointing.
Yes, I love these kinds of videos. New viewer and your couple year old introduction to canning video drew me here and now I'm watching these videos on your page and I am excited to see the rest
I just saw your first canning for beginners and I subscribed! I'm watching in my nightgown and a bunch on the tip of my head...lol! It's my first attempt at building a prepper pantry. I want to do whole meals in a jar if possible. My hubby eats meat and I'm shellfish only. I'm so excited to watch your videos. Thank you so much for making these!
