I once disassembled an electric pressure washer and it's basically a manifold with 3 metal syringes and a rotating cam to articulate them. That said, I think it could process small amounts of blast media in the fluid which might make the filtration system more viable. The other PW/VB video incorporated a bucket with large holes on the side and a mesh liner to quarantine the slurry in the sump which would make for richer blend inside a larger volume of water. Think the downside though would be the reduction in pressure from the PW due to using a larger throated jet inside the VB gun as opposed to the traditional PW nozzle tips.

Doing the same but using 12v 160psi water pump

So, I have a pressure washer setup (BE Nozzle) I am about to try for the 1st time. I got this as I want to do some larger items that would not fit in most cabinets. I was going to spray into a kiddie pool, lined with pool liner. I would like to retain as much media as possible, so I figured I would get a second larger pool for the first one to sit in. Then drill holes if necessary or let it over flow to catch water and give the media a second place to drop out. Then just today, inspired after watching some of your videos lately I picked up a small dry cabinet to convert to vape blasting. It is only 25 L x 20 W x 20.5" H, but will allow me to do cheap build (cabinet was $50). Considering what you have said and my inability to convince the wife for the need for a large compressor; I thought what about a pump that runs out to 1000L/264G Tote. There are like ten different people selling them in our area for $100-150. This is about an hour and a half run time, I think. Last, I have a question: Can I use a under the sink garbage disposal for the pump? Figured it can handle water and material, just have one sitting around doing nothing right now. Thanks for any responses and advice.

Tote is the way to go. I though of it few months agon when I built black tank honey wagon trailer out of 275gal tote at our private campground. Building a 300gal/1200L. I picked up two of them locally for FREE! Another benefit is that I could theorethically connect two of them as needed with a seal between them for over 5" long items to blast. I think it is tottally worth pursuing pressure washer set up option.

Personally feel it would be a excellent project, as the majority of blasting projects I would like to engage are either fixed or will not fit in a blast cabinet.

I'm going to try making this. My plan is to do a filtered overflow skimmer. Seems like the glas bead I can get a hold of where i am is 100-200 micron and i can get a 50 micron filter screen. this way I'm just going to try and let the excess water overflow, I'm also thinking this might naturally clean up any degraded media by letting it pass the filter. I really see this as a much more accessible way to get into vapor blasting as having a capable compressor really isn't possible or economical for most people. For now I'm going to order a sandblasting kit from china for my pressure washer and try that out to see how it deals with wet slurry compared to dry media, when I know which format is possible I'll try to build a cabinet around large plastic euro boxes.

Good luck. It does NOT WORK nearly as fast as a compressed air setup. It will require a special gun design.

@@HTMR I hope I'll get it to work well, at least it's better than nothing.

@@HTMR it will work if pressure is split and regulated to the new nozzle profile while using excess diverted water pressure to suspend the slurry a lot more effectively, wash down glass beads from the cabinet. Filtration is not difficult with what is available off the shelf for cheap.

Why not have a bag filter in the tank? one small pump feeds clean water from outside the bag to pressure washer and another small pump feeds water slurry mixture from inside the bag to the gun.

Did you ever persue this further?

No not yet. I have another concept to try, just don't know when I'll get to it.
