Pressure washing my brick paver driveway with a surface cleaner. No bleach or chemical, just water. Pressure washing your brick pavers is actually fun and even mesmerizing if I'm honest. I want to do it again and will - next time with some bleach and then will sand and seal it.

Allyn, you may remember Bud and I owned Pioneer Pressure Washing.. One thing we learned is when you use bleach to clean mildew, also add some clothes detergent because that will help with the dirt. You probably already know that , just thought it might help.

Use the white lithium grease to lube up the housing when you done after each use. It’s a Allen wrench 🔧 and the bearings are plastic so they need a little grease.Dans vlog showed me the process mine still works like the first day I got it

Alan I'm so happy you don't have to snowblow in Florida. Because my friend that driveway would be a no go. Or you would have to seriously adjust your pads heights. Love the videos keepem coming!!!!!!!

Hi Allyn, I see you busted out the Echo PAS225 briefly in this video. I enjoyed your review when you purchased this back in 2015. Would you still recommend this combo trimmer/edger today? I have an EGO battery powered leaf blower that works great with good power. Wondering if I should just opt for the EGO trimmer/edger combo since I have the battery and charger. Getting fed up with my existing battery powered trimmer that loses power/charge rather quickly, but it's an old product. Leaning towards gas.

Is it safe to use bleach on pavers. Mine hasn’t been sealed. Do you spray the bleach on mixed with water and then power wash or put bleach in power washer. I read it isn’t good to put bleach in power washer due to affecting the power washer.

I’m in Pennsylvania and we also get black mildew on our sidewalks, could be due to the fact that we have Florida like summers, very hot and very humid.

I also found spraying wet and forget between cleanings really worked to keep my driveway and sidewalks clean. Spray and forget it and it does its thing without having to do anything else.

Start at the top and make straight passes overlapping 50% down the driveway. Takes all the gunk half way down. Move the pressure washer to the new location and repeat for the lower half. No need to blast the gunk away!

My paver guy said not to pressure wash them but scrub them instead. I tried scrubbing them with various cleaners but it was way too slow, particularly in the heavily soiled areas.

Have you ever thought about putting a sealer on your bricks and concrete to slow the formation of that mold and repel water?

It also helps to keep pavers from deteriorating quickly

Buy some more hydrolic sand and sweep it in after you're done. It helps keep the pavers locked in and prevents the weeds from coming up. T washes out over time and needs redone ever couple years.

For the drainage issue from the corner of your property, you could look into a team up with Apple Drains and do a vid...he seems like a wonderful guy and the content would be great cross promotion as you probably have similar bases. I will warn you; if you haven’t checked out the channel you might find yourself hours deep watching nothing but French drains and sump basins once you do.... He’s a FL guy too but travels all over.

So I run a 4200 psi dewalt pressure washer. I have 3 surface washers. Two of them are B+E 20" one with wheels one without they are $300.00 each. Then I have a Black + Decker like yours. I have had 2 of them but hey they are cheap. I always clip the Black + Decker on instead of using the expensive ones cause it kicks butt. The rating is 3400 so I use it at my own risk but they rock! Love them!

Go in circles to avoid striping and also use pool bleach. The higher SH the better. Apply 1 part bleach to 3 parts water and apply.

The end of your driveway may also appear "dull" because it appears there are less of the pavers that have that blue-ish color to them in that specific area. When you scan your driveway every other section seems to have the same amount throughout except for at the end over by der. Perhaps the installers ran out of that blue-ish paver and just used what they had ???

In some places you can't jut discharge into the gutter depending on what chemicals you might have added, and what you washed off. You have to make a dam and blow it back onto to your lawn or something. At the end of the day, it matters who is watching and who they might tell. And of course we all have a responsibility to protect the environment.

I keep seeing various places saying only 1500 psi for pavers but this just doesn’t make sense to me. A surface cleaner needs more psi than that. I’m assuming you were at full ~3000psi on your washer doing this?

Should definitely use polymeric sand. That will also help keep the crack weeds down. But we all know you secretly love burning them up with your torch.

HEY COULD YOU SHOW US HOW TO USE A WATER HOSE NEXT? do something that a little bit challenging, my 2 year old was watching this and the next day she was outside pressure washing my driveway. Maybe do the-roof next time while it’s raining. NOT THAT WOULD BE CHALLENGING 😜

When is time to seal just use a water sealant. I have the same pavers and I have used oil base sealants. If you don’t seal every year removing the oil sealant becomes a nightmare.

I'm from sarasota and would like to pressure wash your property. I'm a new small business that specializes in exterior property cleaning and would like like to pressure wash your home and pool cage, I watched your video all the time when I wanted to start my own lawn care business. I'm trying to get my name out there and wouldn't mind doing this pro bono. Keeping your home's exterior cleaned is just as important as the lawn and it bothers me when I see a nice house with a nice lawn paired with a dirty home.

Allen..great job but just a few pointers. I started my Power washing business 10 years ago with that same machine and the honda engines are awesome. I cringed watching you do the washing with sandals....Sneakers or boots just in case..I have seen too many injuries like that. I never use bleach cleaning any patio pavers but my machine is a 4000 psi. To really get that sand out of the joints get a turbo nozzle to suit your machine..BUT wear shoes..It will cut your toes off and don't want to see you limping on the nest grass cutting..lol but great job...

Eric Benigno I’m not an expert but from what my mason told me, with the new pavers (Cambridge, Necco Loc etc) sealing doesn’t really need to happen unless it’s in an area prone to spillage (like a driveway) Either way they said wait a year or two for the efflorescence to leach out then seal, but a light pressure wash every year should clean anything out.

Ryan Fischer awesome thank you. It’s a patio and a walkway. Driveway is asphalt so we’re good there. I’ve been super careful with them.. until last week some iron dripped from my hose end sprayer and left some brown spots on the grey pavers. Hopefully comes out in the power wash. Efflorescence is still happening but not nearly as bad and continues to improve except under the garage overhang where they see minimal water. Thanks again for your advice

I read someone got crossways with the EPA in the past for not reclaiming the water from run off from power washing their driveway. It's actually a stupid EPA (Or was) regulation. Yes that was a homeowner that got in trouble.

I don't think that's from the water....its from all the chemicals or just stuff you throw on your lawn to make it dominate you're neighbors..😂...like the "paint it black" stuff. Maybe a stiff brush and Hydrogen peroxide no bleach it will burn your lawn and your eyes as well and get some restaurant style concrete sealer for the pavers or bricks you have hit it twice let dry in between coats .

Using those pressure discs on pavers are way too harsh. You are aging those pavers 5 years in 1 day. Your pavers and concrete look clean but look terrible because you are removing layers of aggregate every time you do that.

What is the alternative? I've tried various cleaners and scrubbing with stiff small push brooms but the heavily soiled areas would take forever to scrub.

Or you could spend $130 and hire a professional that will get you better results and you won’t have to spend an entire day or two to get that clean.
