You would be surprised of how much people you have helped with this video, most guys are keeping this much needed information like a cult religion. You are one of a kind bro,we appreciate you for sharing this along with your knowledge.
I've used this sprayer several times now on brick pavers, a wood deck, patio, and a driveway. ru-vid.comUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX It has performed as expected on all surfaces. For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don't want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.
Man you did a great job. People talk about what they put in five gallon bucket, but you have know way of knowing for sure. Thank you for taking the time to show us first hand what to do. I am doing my first pressure washing job on September 10th and I am sure all will go well because of you.
I look at it like this. Everyone may be looking at this information up. But everyone is not able to do it or they do not have the equipment or they are to cheep to pay for good work.
Thanks for breaking it it down to a childlike level for people like me. Great detailed explanation that even this box of rocks was able to understand. Thanks.
It’s real easy now to respond because I’m not that big now . I like when people leave comments and ask question because that gives me ideas for videos.
Brother thank you so much…. Some people make this so complicated… you did an amazing job of explaining this and this video gave me confidence to approach using bleach for pre and post treatment
THANK YOU!!! I searched through 20 videos. All these guys are using words and terms I don't understand. I'm just a home owner trying to clean my driveway!! Finally, I can mix this and get started!! Thanks, brotha!!
I like simple. It's so much simpler than not simple. There are plenty of excellent videos by wash guys that have a truck rigged with a half dozen different pumps, a giant water container, mixing valves, and a thousand feet of hoses, but I don't have any of that. I just want to know how much chem to add to the water in the bucket for different situations. Thank you for keeping it simple! 👍
Just wanted to let you know, I thought this video was very informative and to the point. I am a window cleaner but offer some pressure washing on the side to my customers. Great video
Thank you so much for that info i just bought an xjet and i couldnt figure out how to mix the chems. Now i will be able to put a 1.5 percent on a house and not worry about it
All the other dudes speaking in algebra to get ratios etc is annoying. You put it in very simplistic terms and great examples to learn the most from. Thank you man 👊🏻
Please do man! It’s hard finding men out here that aren’t trying to gatekeep Information, I subscribed last night and I’ll definitely be tuning in and learning ‼️✅
@@Aqueminipressurewashing I’ll be sure to tune in! Looking to start offering pressure and soft washing to my business but I know as little as the next guy so this is super helpful content!
Somehow, I cannot reply on the last comment that you post on my last video, so I hope that you find this one. Yes when I downstream, the chemical would be weaker then using the X-Jet. It’s faster too down stream and x-jetting is stronger. I all ways use a 3% mix and post treatment with the same. Remember you were using high pressure it’s coming off you just wanted to come off easier.
Yes it can kill any plants and grass. Just make sure you water down them before you start and after don’t spray directly on them. The pump sprayer is one from Home Depot. Thanks for watching.
I read through all the comments. First I do agree with everyone that said you did an awesome job explaining how to mix it. What I'm having trouble finding anywhere, and was not in any of the comments, is how many times do you have to remake that 5 gallon batch, to do a house? That's the kind of information that's needed because that tells me how much I'm going to be spending, cost wise, on s h for one job. Can you please answer that.
I really can't say. Maybe 5 gallons every 1000 sqft. The best way is to charge by the sqft. Let's say $.10 to $.20 a sqft. some people charge as much as $.30 a sqft. So spending $10 on SH is not that bad. You make your money on how fast you can get the job done.
A regular roof is about 5% to 6% but you don't need it that strong. 2% should be enough if you a using a 12-volt sprayer or pump sprayer. If you down streaming it will have to be stronger. Keep in mind what is below the roof and make sure you use a good surfactant to help it stick. Heavey water all plants and grass around.
Nice video! When using the pump sprayer, you ever had the SH mix dry up too quickly from the sun? I know ur supposed to let it sit for 10-15 min but it evaporates in like seconds for me. Sometimes I do straight SH and it still evaporates. Perhaps I need a pump sprayer with a higher flow rate?
You can wet the surface first. But you may want to downstream the area if it’s that big. Keep in mind that you are killing the organics the cleaning is still done by the pressure washer. If you don’t want it to sit that long use a stronger mix.
I use house wash or concrete wash for my surfactant . But you can’t get away with using laundry detergent. Always mix your soap with your solution when you’re about to do the job. No matter what you use for soap or surfactant it will deteriorate the strength for the bleach.
Awesome video, I honestly learned a lot from it. Although I’ve got one question: Do you take into account that it’s going to get diluted by the x-jet, or how do you work with that?
Yes I do. Using the X-Jet I should get a 1.5%. Coming out. That is usually strong enough to do 95 percent of my jobs. Since the X-Jet cuts the chemical in half I just mix it accordingly.
@@Aqueminipressurewashing Ohh, okay. I thought the x-jet diluted it way more than just in half. Could you make a video, where you talk about each individual surface and what concentration of SH they need? It would be super interesting and useful. And again: Awesome channel, great content!
@@Durakov25 I will work on that. Oh yeah, the X-Jet comes with some insert that goes in the unit that can lower the amount of SH you use. I haven't figured that out yet. But when I do I will make a video because there is not one on RU-vid.
So I normally use 30 second cleaner with my backpack sprayer when I wash houses- but it’s expensive. I have never downstreamed before. So would I use a mix like what you just made for that?
The mix I just showed you in the video is my go to mix. Don’t over think it. When you use this mix in a downstream should put you around 1%. This mix works great on houses.
Great video, very informative. I recently started a home cleaning business and a lot of people started asking do I also pressure wash. I purchased a 3000 psi, 2.7 gpm pressure washer by Troy bilt. Do you think this is a good starting machine? I was going to use this until I get more jobs and than I would upgrade to a higher gpm machine.
No not a good one. You need at least a 4GPM machine. You can do it with the 2.7 but it’s going to take you longer. And also invest in a surface cleaner. Check out my video on starting your business.
What a great video. Ive been trying to figure this stuff out and everything ive read people make it sound so difficult to figure out the ratios. You made it super simple. Im assuming youre using a 4gpm to downstream that mix to get it to 1%? I only have a 2.5gpm I'm just getting started doing my own thing. if i downstreamed that mix with my 2.5gpm what percentage would it take it down to?
The 3% will work. I found out that it’s not to strong. I’m not big on ratios I just want to get the job done. With your machine it should be fine if the mix is stronger it will just work faster.
Then I would use 3 gallons of water to 1 gallon of SH. Make it a little stronger. Using a stronger mix only will kill everything off faster. Less dwell time.
@Aqueminipressurewashing alright perfect. Thanks brother I appreciate you responding. I subscribed to your channel and turned notifications on and I'll continue to watch your content. Thanks again bro.
I’m not using a proportioner. Also watch the video with me using pool cleaner. It uses 10% SH. I will link it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-91nUIjjReOk.htmlsi=PbHJTHjHqiBoxXAU Don’t get caught up on trying to get it exactly right get it as close as you can. A stronger mix means that it will work faster. But if you want it exact download the quote IQ app I will do a video on that soon.
That's a good question. It's really hard to say. If it's mixed with some kind of surfactant it may last a few weeks. Here is what I do, I test it on a test spot to check the strength then I can add some fresh SH if needed. Just keep it in an airtight container at a good room temperature.
Thank you so much for teaching, may I know for driveway how many percentage you do & for roof how many percentage you think is better? To you rinse off the roof after put chemicals?
Roofs use 5% with a 12 volt pump. You can not downstream or X-Jet. Make sure you water all vegetation heavy. On driveway 3% downstream and do a post treatment. Watch my concrete videos.
@@Aqueminipressurewashing if I don’t have 12 volt pump can I use x jet instead? I haven’t start business yet but will start very soon, thanks again for your video, it very easy to help me understand!
With a roof cleaning you want to use a 12 volt pump sprayer. My advice to you stay away from roof cleaning until you get more experience. Try to downstream or x-jet your jobs and make sure that you water everything until you understand how chemicals work.
My bad. Here is the link: www.amazon.com/5-Gallon-Plastic-Hedpack-cap/dp/B0064O8OYK/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=5+gallon+water+jug&qid=1659528578&sprefix=5+ga%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-9
Another easy way is to take the container size then divide by bleach % example 25 Gallon / 12% = 2.08 Next multiply that by whatever SH strength you want 2.08 X 1.5 = 3.125 So you would add a little over 3 gallons to a 25 gallon container for 1.5% Hope this helps.
That doesn’t sound right. I don’t have a 8GPM machine but I believe that your X-Jet will pull the same as a 4GPM Machine because of the tip. Question for you is your X-Jet rated for a 8GPM machine? regardless which one that you have it’s gonna cut it in half if you run it open without any adapters. I could be wrong, but I have never seen a 15% SH. I feel that if you have a 3% mix with your 8 GPM machine it will still you a 1.5% mix coming out of the tip. Just having a 8 GPM machine is only just gonna use your chemical faster not change the strength. I will confirm this with some people and I may make a video about it.
You are overthinking it. A 3% mix is a sweet spot. You can use it on a house or concrete. A roof uses a 6% but you need a 12 volt pump. If you watch other videos on washing it will give you a better understanding how to wash. Don’t just mix something up and think it going to work. You may have to change the mix strength to make it work. So be careful.
What is a decent mix ratio for patio? I have a 5liter pump sprayer. And 12.5 hypo what should the mix be. And how much soap would you apply. Thx for the great video
If it's concrete use a 3% mix. If it's wood start at 1%. You can add more SH if needed to make it stronger. The soap is used to help the SH stick longer not to clean so use 1/4 of a cup. You can add more soap if you are dealing with dirt.
If you have 12% to start each gallon of water cuts it in half 1 to 1 is 6% 1 to 2 (bleach to water) would be 3% and add another gallon is 1.5% is the strength you actually made
You are right sir but I only mixed it down to 3% because I did 1 to 1 twice. So 1 gallon of SH and 3 gallons of water. They I use the X-jet to cut that in half gives me a 1.5%. I hope we are on the same page. Let me know. Thanks for watching and the feed back.
Hey so 12.5 bleach one gallon mixed with 4 gallons of water for 3% ? And then if I downstream it will turn into 1.5%? And that should be enough to kill mold on house siding ?
Yes it works for me. Check out my house wash videos I use this exact mix. Some of the houses are really bad. Bricks you may have to use a stronger mix.
Use a formula. You need three values: Tank size in gallons, initial SH %, and desired SH %. Let's say we want 1.5% of SH for cleaning vinyl siding; the tank holds 3 gallons and the initial SH is 10%. We will need 0.45 ((3/10)*1.5) gallons of SH in the tank plus 2.55 (3 - 0.45) gallons of water. The soap is 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) per gallon in the final mix.
@@bluestripes6037 always use a 1 to 1.5% on a house. If it doesn’t work just reapply. But give it time for the SH to work. Putting to strong chemicals is bad for houses.
I always wear gloves. If you get bleach on them just wash them off with water. If you going to spray above your head wear a mask and eye protection. I’m so use to doing this I don’t wear the proper protection like I should. But yes wear protection each time. The more you do this you will figure out how to do it with less risk.
As a newbie i am finally getting it..still kinda confused. So 12%-pure bleach 6% -safe on driveways because water breaks it down half and half. 3%- means its strong? Ah the last part got me confused
Don’t go higher that 6% unless you are using a pump sprayer. Now a 3% mix in your bucket will be cut in half with a X-jet and more when down streaming. That’s ok keep in mind you are killing what’s on the surface. Let the surface cleaner do all the work. And do a post treatment after.
Can you make a good vid on how to pre/post treat concrete for cleaning driveways? Would i mix the chemicals the same like you did in this video and spray it on area im cleaning ?
@@Aqueminipressurewashing Thank you, I have a pressure wash trailer and I plan to buy an Xjet. My question is with the Xjet if I have the hose part going into a gallon of bleach (12.5%) how much surfactant should I add to that gallon of bleach? Do I even need any and if I do is there a specific amount (I plan to focus on driveways)
In addition - My target is 3-4% SH on driveways. I see the proportioner tips come at certain ratios. I believe my machine is 4 GPM which to me looks impossible to get to my desired % with the tips the Xjet comes with. I guess my next question would be do you have any tips to get to my desired SH using an Xjet?
@@kjayy38 I don't put anything in my X-jet. And I know that will cut my mix in half. So get the mix right coming from your bucket. Keep in mind the goal is to kill the mold and clean with the lowest amout of SH that you can use. So don't be stuck on %. The higher the % the faster it will work but it can kill plants and grass too.
@@kjayy38 mix you SH in a different bucket. Adding surfactant will make your SH weaker or time. So if you are going to use it up fast keep the surfactant away form your SH.
I have a question on a mix formula with the X-Jet system. I have 8 gpm machine and the X-Jet chart states 3:1 with no tip. How much SH do I put in the 5 gallon bucket to get 3%? I use 10% (SH). Thanks
You are going to get a 2.5% using 10%. Plus you will have to use 1 gallon of SH and 3 gallons of water. To help you get a 3% mix get the free version of quote IQ. I’m not sure what percentage you should use with a 8 GPM machine and your X-Jet. But it does have to be 3% it just works for me. You can use the 2.5% when washing. Just try to find you a sweet spot and just stick with that.
@Aquemini Pressure Washing Ok, so if I use 12.5% (SH) straight in the 5 gallin and use the X-Jet 3:1 ratio with a 8 gpm, that will equal to 3%? Again, only straight (SH) in the 5 gallon. No water dilution. Also, the Quote IQ "free" only does batch and downstream calculations. It doesn't work with the x-jet ratio. Which would have been a cool feature on this app. Thank you, Sir for all the help. Wish you the best this season. Michael C - (WA)
Keep in mind whatever you have an a bucket it’s gonna be diluted when you downstream or X-jet. So your 3% mix is going to be cut in half or in your case it’s going to be a little bit more than half. But it should be OK because you can go lower than 1 1/2% when you do a house wash
@Aquemini Pressure Washing Yes, it gets a little tricky with the X-Jet system. Especially with the 3:1 ratio and what we use it for. Differently need to get the math right. Or close to the percentage. I will figure it out. Come on Quote IQ put this X-Jet feature on your App, LOL 😆 Again, thank you for the help and information.
Hey sorry I couldn’t help you more. There’s no one out here with a video to explain how the X-Jet works . I love to be the first if I can figure it out.
I’m not using bleach. I’m using a 12.5% sodium hypochlorite which is used to make bleach. You can get it at a suppler for pressure washing. My next best thing to use would be pool cleaner at 10%.
I stop measuring how much soap I use. Maybe a 1/2 a cup or 1 cup of soap. I just use enough soap to see when the SH comes out. But if you read the label on the soap that 1 gallon can make up to 20 gallons if you follow the instructions.
Can someone say if I understand this correctly 10% SH 1 gallon water is 5% mix , 10% SH 3 gallon water is 2.5 % mix? And if u downstream that it’s a 1% mix?
It’s what you should use when pressure washing. You don’t need the other stuff that comes in bleach. So yes it good stuff just be careful when using. Look at a bleach bottle it the active ingredient.
I would use 1%. So if you down streaming out of a 5-gallon bucket have the bucket at 3%. Be careful using SH can stain the wood and leave streaks. It has to be put on even and don't let it sit too long. I would wet the wood first then apply the SH.
@@Aqueminipressurewashing appreciate quick response. I actually bought X jet M5 twist to do my soft washing. And the 5 gallon tank. I believe with x jet I will be taking in more water. Therefore I should use more chemical in the tank is that correct?
You can use it for both. Just remember using the XJet is going to cut it in half. And when you downstream, it’s going to be more than half. But it always works for me. If it’s not strong enough just add 1/4 of a gallon of SH.
I still don’t get it lol. 1 gal SH + 1 gal water = 6%. Then + 2 more gal of water = 3%? If 1 gal of water half’s the % wouldn’t just 1 more gal of water make it 6%? Not 2 more?
Remember you are making the strength of the SH. You made 12% in to 6% by cutting it in half. So if you buy 2 gallons of 6% SH you need 2 gallons of water to make it 3%. Now when you run that in the machine it’s going to cut the 3% in half with a X-Jet and a 10 to 1 ratio when you downstream. I think if you add 1 gallon of water to 2 gallons of 6% SH that will put you at 4.5%.
