If this doesn't work, what then?

I would NEVER purchase this system because of the lack of information available as to how you can program the fob. I just purchased a 1994 Suburban with this system already installed and the first day I pushed the button to start the vehicle remotely and it fired right up. Since then I have tried perhaps 15 times and only succeeded twice more by holding it close to the receiver (?) that is suction cupped to the windshield. Does the receiver need a battery or does it run off the vehicle battery? I can't find this out. I have tried for two days to get answers and there isn't anyone providing information. Very frustrating.

I have a Audiovox Prestige ELVATOD APS2K4 in my 85 Mont Carlo SS. It has went bad and has taken out two batteries and a alternator. I just want to remove it properly. Do you have a link to a video that shows how to remove it?

After doing this, I can get the remote to lock both doors when I hit the lock button. But when I hit the unlock button, it only unlocks the driver side door and not the passenger side. Any ideas?

Bought a used car with the APS-57C. No remotes so I bought one on ebay. I programmed it and Now instead of two remotes programmed its shows it has 3 programmed. How can I erase all remotes to just save 1. This way i dont have to see the led flash a total of 9 times every time i start the car.

How do i set the sensitivity? mine only goes off if i try to open the driver side door only. If i bump the car or try to open the back doors it dont go off.thank u

I have a prestige alarm from around 2009. Is it possible to just swap out the brain with a newer module?

Hi i came across your video, my daughter's remote is missing the top. She needs new remotes. There's no alarm , just starts 2017 Hyundai Elantra and opens and locks doors. How would i go about getting the right remotes. I see old remote says prestige on it. And do you know of a good sight to order them from, and oncce in hand i would follow what you said in this video to program new remotes. Thanks if you could help me out, so i dont by the wrong remotes. Not sure where else to look for any type of model number. Thank you

Hello thanks for this video I have two questions , I currently have a 1 way remote starter using a single button 151sp remote and I was wondering is I could use 155sp remote that has the lock cl and unlock buttons , and also my kid has and is250 Lexus 2006 and two shops have had trouble adding a remote starter but the last guy said if I get a factory fob to leave in the car it would work because he says that is some type of push button delay ..those that make sense? ..

Man I'm really confused. I'm installing the prestige aps596z on my 2007 Dodge ram. Theres an orange wire on the supplied harness that goes to the "starter kill/ anti grind relay". Now does that go to the factory harness, or the "starter kill" relay they also provided in the kit. On the diagram the orange wire has output on it, and on the supplied relay they sent, it says starter kill input. But also on my trucks factory harness, it has a yellow/gray wire that says it's the starter kill wire, which I followed and it's the one that goes to my starter. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it

I have the basic unit on the right. I just i stalled it in my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I hook the car battery back up, the led on the valet thing blinks 1 long blink then a short pause the 2 blinks then a pause, then repeats. If I'm replacing my prestige part 183bp remote because of wear and tear (not the entire alarm system), do I just press the lock button until it starts flashing while the ignition is on? I'm only trying to get a replacement alarm remote and program it to my vehicle without touching any of the wiring underneath the hood. I know if I take back to the shop that originally did it, they're gonna charge me an arm and a leg.

Do you know if older Code Alarm units (CA6554) can use newer transmitters from Compustar (RF2WT9FM) or Prestige (18LCDSP)?
