I got this keyboard just this week and so far I've had no problems using it in general. But it does take some time to get used to it especially if you're not used to using circular keycaps. It really is a cool keyboard but I have to say that I wouldn't ever recommend using this keyboard in school, the office, or the workplace unless you have a private one. The keyboard is really loud and I mean really loud. I personally don't mind and actually like the sound and so do my parents who actually find it nostalgic. But when using it for online classes it does get kind of distracting. If you want to use it I would recommend using an earphone or headphone with a microphone attached to them. The only real thing I found disappointing about this keyboard is that the keycaps are really wobbly. But other than that I really do love this keyboard and the typing experience I have to say is really good. I do wish they lower the price down though... I was lucky that I got this when it was 40 percent off so I didn't really have to pay that much for it.
yeah, i honestly expect clicky style switches with any keyboard that looks like this, for the nostolga vibes. but if you are looking into a quiter option, tactiles give you the same feel and many companies offer silent versions fo their linear and tactile switches. I've heard kahlio has a silent tactile switch that's pretty good, though it does come down to personal preference. (If you want, you can get a hot swappable mecahnical keyboard, and then replace the switch with what you like. These also allow for lubing and switch films to improve sound)
there are some without that outer metal boarder that are around $25-50. i think some are over $100 because it’s an extended keyboard with the second set of numbers to the right
I never had any problems of my wrists touching the edge of my desk because when I'm typing, it's like I'm playing the piano, so my hands just naturally levitate itself 😂😂
I love watching keyboard reviews and people typing on it. its weirdly soothing. but I couldn't type on these mechanical keyboard myself. my wrist would be in so much pain.
Wow! I think I might get this for my wife’s birthday next month. 😊 She loves this classy keyboard. I may get her the accompanying mouse 🐁 as well. Thanks.
There are some basic details that keyboard enthusiasts expect to be mentioned in a video review: Switches (which type, are they hot swapable etc.), Keycaps: what profile, are they ABS or PCB, how thick they are, double shot/single shot etc. Talk about the material, weight and acoustics ...
I looked for this model in Amazon and the key markings are not black. They look very light and hard to see. It's a year later. How has the keyboard held up? Or do you have a new brand?
hi this might seem to be a weird request but could you please let me know if the shift button on the left side has 2 switches underneath? I've been wanting an international/uk layout but there's no posh+artisan colors on the uk amazon even if I could afford the overpriced currency exchange. Just wondering if I could buy US keyboards and request the extra key.
hi there!! I would like to know if the layout is customisable? Because I’m used to the AZERTY layout and I’m not sure just interchanging the keys is going to be enough as ponctuation keys aren’t the same on an AZERTY layout and a QWERTY one
it doesn't support LINUX? And, that 'leather' or material sounds like it might collect dirt and be hard to clean. The keyboard isn't that pretty on screen.
oh my.. this was this kickstarter keyboard that linus also reviewed, right? The aesthetics are great, but i really dont like the profile and shape of those caps. Looks great.. but is it really usable in the long run? I´d go Tofu ;)
I’m getting one for eid yay! (Eid is a Muslim Holliday where MANY streets are closed due to the massive amount of people praying, maybe lucky enough to be near a bouncy house on the local streets,McDonald’s Ave will most likely close there streets due to fairs on eid and praying, and if u are under 18 (wich I am) u most likely will get preasents to celebrate the holiday,if u dont celebrate it , that’s fine! U can always attend the eid fairs and join the kids in the bouncy house on the 14th of may! Hope u come!)
Pretty? From a distance, maybe...kind of like a Vegas stripper. It's not that I dislike this keyboard, but it's definitely tailored to Gen Z and to some extent the Gen Z "lite" Millennials that came before them. As a generation, they're all flash over substance and in this regard, this keyboard delivers. It's nice enough looking at first glance, but you get past the faux good looks (which I'm sure had the self-appointed influencers and gurus and mavens and disruptors putting down their eye liner TikTok vids for 15 minutes or so) and what you end up with is kind of a plastic box with some metal trim that gives it some heft. I'm on a MAC, and the aluminum MAC keyboard has it all over this in terms of heft and feel and build, though I was looking for the feel/touch of a mechanical keyboard and this delivers, albeit from keycaps that seem to come off a Fisher Price toy. What gives this weight is the metal trim. I guess I'll keep it, but I expected a lot more.
