I love the small detail of his eyes rolling a little bit at 0:11. She's hit the gong too early either because of jumping her que or because he adlibbed some words - and he's annoyed but since this is a shoestring budget it's not like he's going to reshoot, so he waits to finish. The fact that this was written in and purely intentional in order to create the feel of a cheesy low-budget commercial is part of what makes this so great.

@Paul You should really learn the history of Brazilian jiujitsu. When you do, you'll find that the Gracies learned judo with an emphasis on newaza. Then you'll find out that that the Japanese "master" was a judo master and not a jujutsu master. Additionally, the Gracies didn't learn anything from him (Maeda) - which you can find in "Opening Closed Guard" by Drysdale. So the Gracies never learned jujutsu and "jiujitsu" (which almost always has the connotation of Brazilian jiujitsu) today has almost no relation to Japanese jujutsu - just like even judo has almost no relation to jujutsu. You are wrong on every count.

@@aplus1080 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is descended from Judo, which in turn is descended from Jujutsu. BJJ started out as the Brazilian version of Judo, which was erroneously called "Jiu Jitsu" in Brazil. The Gracie family believes that BJJ comes from the original Japanese Jujutsu, when in reality it comes from Judo.

As a man you shouldn't spar with the ladies anyways. You can seriously hurt them plus you aren't getting a realistic "fight". My Sensei splits us up because even though I'm a yellow belt, I have a huge amount of pain tolerance and is much larger then they are. There is no equality is a fighting sport. Don't give me that shit. You are either better than your opponent or you are worse, and sparring realistically can save your life.
