I operate a Scooter Rental company by Disneyland If a scooter does not move and beeps, its most likely the lever being in Neutral. You have to pull back the lever back in drive and than resetting the scoiter by turning the key off and than on again. I test the batteries with a load tester. I purchased mine at Harbor Freight for 20 bucks. This tester will will put a load on the batteries to quickly isolate a bad battery. If the batteries are good I pull codes from the scooter by counting the beeps. You can quickly pinpoint the cause that way and look up the beep codes online according to your scooter manufacturer. Sometimes it will be a dpeedpot or throttle in rare cases a microswitch on the brake solenoid. In rare cases in the wiring harness. I usually swap out wiring harnesses and if necessary a controller to eliminate the fault. It's easier to diagnose a scooter when you have other models that are similar. Pride Victory models are interchangeable all the way ten years back. That's why in my rental business I can reduce overhead costs and fix pretty much anything quickly and efficiently. My service calls are low as a result inside Disneyland as a result!

I have a question for a Pride Gogo. We just bought one from an estate sale. Brought it home, charged it, but no light on the dash illuminated. Only the power light and headlight works. Little power to the motor for motion. 3 yr old battery. Possibly needs new batteries?

my mother (79 yrs old) has a go go elite traveler that works for a while and then stops. It has new batteries which are fine (I know because I thought that they were the problem and batteries plus tested them) she uses it for our dog to run and the problem is getting worse. the old batterys read 12v or over, how did u arrive at a short?u should of flashed a bit of wire across the terminals to see if there were any amps, even a shagged battery can show 12v. its the power it should give.

If charge up quickly and then go flat same quickly, then the battery will go to the skip yard and need to be replaced. This is the most easiest way to check it. May the battery charge up to full, but it could be one or more cell short circuited.
I have a pride revo 2.0 only 6 months old. My problem is when I fully charge the batteries they show full. When I run the scooter for very short distance the battery monitor shows one line down. When I disengage the motor lever the monitor will show the batteries are completely full. Any idea what the problem could be? Thank you.

Riding along, shows full battery then sudden stop and beeping. Wait, push start lever and it starts to go then sudden stop as if brakes applied. Have to push back to room I store the scooter in. Charged battery for overnight, shows full and still won’t move.

Hi Eric, Unfortunately, the batteries need regular use/ maintenance. It they rarely used their lifetime will reduce and occur same problem as in the video. It’s available on the market to buy testers, but they are expensive, cheaper to buy new batteries.
Hi Betty, How old is the battery? A short-circuited battery could cause same problem. Or if there is a carbon brush in the engine and that is stucked or worn present same issue. I suggest to check these first.
Hi.. i have a pride elite gogo traveller sport.. lol sounds complicated already.. anyhoo i remember when i got it that there was something different than usual about the battery pack... but i forgot what??? It was maybe that theyre 2 11v instead of 12 or something... it was a more powerful pack than a standard gogo was but not as high as the gogo upgrade pack they were selling for them. Im just confused what batteries do i buy. My scooter is not charging fully and the moment i try driving it drains the power lights abd hardly moves. Any tips would be gratefully recieved. Hi, I’ve checked on google and you need 2 of 12V 18Ah batteries. Sport includes higher capacity batteries, this is what different from normal traveller

My scooter just went crazy. Now I can't get it to work at all. It shifted to reverse while I was going forward down the st. Came to a stop I let go of the lever and it went backwards by itself.

Mine did the same thing yesterday I have the 4 w vive, on a slight hill it just shut off with green battery lights! I rolled backwards and was thrown over once it left the path. Scary stuff and now it won’t go at all.
My Gogo 3 wheel suspension scooter stops when I'm driving it and the fully charged battery, 24 hr charge, beeps 2 times. I turned it off and back on just to get from kitchen to bedroom in my apartment. I don't see reset button. It's a about 2 years old. Any assistance would be appreciated
Hi, beeps two times because the battery voltage is too low to operate the scooter. The solution to this problem is to charge the Go-Go mobility scooter fully until the charger & meter indicates completion. As you charged fully your batteries it means you need to change the batteries.

Hi, I have checked the internet, too and I can say 9 beeps indicate control unit issue. If you are in the position to try new batteries it worth to try, but most of the time control unit is broken. Its replacement is expensive, may repair is not economical.

It could be a number of different problems, if the controller is shot, it may cost you $350 plus labor and it may make sense to buy a new scooter. I trust Pride brand more than others. I had to have the electronic brake replaced, similar symptoms as yours, cost me $150 as I recall 5 years ago.

Nice video but do not depend on voltage to determine if a battery is bad, they need to be tested under load. Either test the batteries while trying to drive the scooter or use a battery tester.

Fair point. Common sense plays a part as well. These scooters are brutal on batteries so if they are 4 - 5 years old when you test them then yes, the battery's are shot. I wanted to make the same point that you cannot depend on a volt meter test unless the batteries are under load. You can end up changing perfectly good batteries and not solve the problem.
