Emphasis on pet and not 'battle' bears. Bears are actually pretty poor battle animals when you consider how hard they are to control compared to horses, or even dogs for that matter. You can tell a horse to do something because their social structure is deferential to a leader, and horses perceived their riders as their leaders, as well as having a few things we can take advantage of to get them to do what we want to do. For example, if you apply pressure to the side of a horse while riding it, it'll be uncomfortable and will keep moving. Once you ingrain that once you let go after it moves, it'll be conditioned to be rode very well because it needs relief from the pressure. Dogs also have a social structure, but a much smaller one than compared to horses. We can take advantage of this to control them but larger and stronger dogs were known to get carried away if they were fighting in actual battles and would get killed very easily by prepared soldiers. They had their uses, and even still do, but they were rare for a reason. Bears have an extremely limited social structure, especially larger species of bears. Riding them would be uncomfortable for both you and the bear because of the way they walk and distribute their weight. Getting them to move where you want them to would be very difficult, as there's no way in hell you'd get away with trying to force it and no way to condition it like a horse. Even if you weren't riding them, using them in battles would be a terrifying but ultimately pretty easily dealt with affair if it was a large battle. Bears are skittish, don't see humans as prey, and don't like to fight to the death.
A metal as fuck statement my friend, but kinda untrue if you think about it. No other animal actively learns and applies techniques to kill other animals and eachother quite like we do in 'civil' society.
Although the Cave Bears are omnivorous, sadly, I didn’t see them eat plants in Primal, due to how Vikings used the Cave Bears as rides to help fight Spear and Fang.
Well not all bears on the planet are carnivores, even in a cartoon, Nigel even states that the Cave Bear was “not very carnivorous bear,” back in 2006’s Prehistoric Park
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have sharp teeth and claws. That also does not mean they weren’t huge or aggressive. Pandas are herbivores, and they can MESS YOU UP.
Well mostly, more recent studies show that it was a bit more like a modern brown bear or black bear where its diet is heavily vegatation, but still dabbled in meat. Long story short, it was still primarily an herbivore, just not as strict of an herbivore as previously thought
It’s a Cave Bear, who cares? Not every has to be scientifically accurate, you don’t have to get obsessed with the designs, but just let people be. Every media always modify the animals to make it more thrilling and exciting.
Didn’t you hear what Carlos said? Not everything needs to be scientifically accurate, they only make the animals in media different because the want to make every media excitement and thrilling.

This Cave Bear in Primal does have some accuracies, as you can see, its a bear, its omnivorous (but I didn’t see it eat plants) and has a hump-like structure on its back.
