So cool that you can faintly hear what Jormy says at 1:10 - 1:30 “I know you , Ghost of Sparta, find Mimir, then return”
He's not. He got sent back in time at Ragnarök, reappearing in Midgard, where he's lived since. The one we see fight Thor is actually his younger self, created when the soul of a giant was placed in soulless body of a snake in Jotunheim (this happening only short time before Ragnarök) There's a brief mention of him in the Valhalla DLC, where its said he likes to "sun himself on the mountains" after Fimbulvinter had passed (long after Ragnarök concluded)
porr Jormungandr must be so confused meeting his dad as a child and then at the 16:00-17:00 mark coming back as a young lad seeing your parents as teens that poor guy gonna need some counseling mabey his older wolf brother or younger human sister can help him out
Fun fact: The Giant soul Atreus puts in the snake is His own son with Angrboda That's why he seems familiar to Jormungander Though in the myths, There are no soul things, Jormungander is the direct son of Him and Angrboda Loki and Angrboda have three children, Jormungander, Fenrir the wolf(yes him) and Hel(ruler of underworld)
How did atreus have the soul of his child before his child was even born.I thought it was just a random giant's soul and that he recognised atreus because he saw atreus when he put the soul into the snake.
@@omniverse1509 that's the issue It is very different from what is in the mythology And time travel creates a lot of paradoxes He gets the soul from Angrboda It's extremely confusing and I'm not saying I'm 100% correct But well it could be a different giant, but we do have somethings pointing to him being loki's son's soul 1. A snake, obviously not concrete evidence but it is what it is 2. Atreus was talking about putting a giant soul who despises Thor, as we know, someone who absolutely despises Thor is Jormungandr Again it could be someone else entirely, but we have more evidence of him being Jormungandr rather than him being not Jormungandr
@@aayushmanchaturvedi3706yes it is kinda confusing thanks BTW. And if Fenrir is Loki's actual son in Norse mythology does garm exist in Norse mythology?
@@aayushmanchaturvedi3706 Jomungander , the world serpent / Ouroborus is equivalent of quetzecotl , Kukulkan and many other names is the symbol of the circle / cycle of life and way of life of our polytheistic pagan ancestors , the same serpent was demonised in the texts of the bible the same way St George , the roman soldier slayed the dragon (winged serpent) in the west of england and st patrick kicked the snakes out of Ireland to give a couple examples - these days are symbollic to the end of the indigenous and old ways of life and beginning of the order of totalitarianism through Christian monotheism. Think of mythology as Metaphorical imagery , similar to hieroglyphics. The planets were not named after the gods , they are the gods . Its just that the Romans / successor of power have laid the foundations for what we give name to and have massively influenced the language we speak
8:42 Lol, Grandpa Cronos ate Kratos and he cut open his stomach with Blade of Olympus. Now Grandchild Jormy is swallowing them as well. What a great family.

"iron wood , go meet me there"
Idk if there's a lore thing that makes the two snakes be the same but even tho in game people think they're I don't think so. In Ragnarok we see the OG not helping and literally just chilling on Midgard. Later on we see Loki put a giant's soul in the body of a soulless snake that just sliders away to then return as a big boy by the end (I think at some point Angrboda says to Atreus that this snake it's growing really fast too) I think Mimir also said in the final assault that it looked different from the original.
We see that garm gained an appearance closer to Fenrir once his soul was put in garm, in my opinion, the snake had simply started to change more and more into what he looked like prior to having his soul put into a marble.
@@ThatCatDiaz The serpent telling Atreus about Ironwood pretty much saved everyone who survived, Jorm knew he'd be in Ragnarök since he lived through it, also he could've never said that atreus looked familiar if he had never seen him.
But loki put the soul inside it in god of war Ragnarok. But the world serpent was present in god of war 2018 as well. So how is it possible? Did it travelled time?
In God of Was 2018, Mimir says that during their battle to be, Thor strikes Jourmangandr so hard that he pushes him back in time, even before his own birth. A birth we witness in God of War: Ragnarok, in addition to Thor’s deadly blow in Asgard during Ragnarok itself.
@@scorchingscorpio9037 so basically the 1st world serpent is alive while new ones are being transferred back from future. So one day the whole world will be full of world serpents
Thor’s hammer is more powerful than any magic weapon ever, but no one didn’t know that it can send anyone or anything back in time. It made the Fates confusing.
All things considered, Kratos should have much more easily believed that Jorm was sent back through time, especially given the Ghost of Sparta's own history with Time Travel and his war with The Fates who Conspired against him. He's travelled through time himself on *purpose,* so how hard would it be to believe someone could be sent back in time by *accident?*
@@nmdreams86 The one sleeping in the ice, and the one born from Atreus and the other girl i forgor the name, which was the one fighting Thor and got sent to the past.
Normal conversation in ancient tounge: Bob:TEEE YOOOOO LAAAFTRAAA!!!! Bobette: AKAAAA TOO LEEE MEYYYYY!!!!! Bob: i agree i mean - FEEEE CAAA TOO MAAAANNNN!!!!
jormungandr: *bass deep voice sound* atreus: ooooooooo taaaaaaaaay mooooooooooooo niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikiiiiiiiiiiii sindri: they are speaking the language of gods
OHHHHH, so the snake we saw in that Giant's Lair was younger version of Jormungandr that Atreus had essentially given life to, and through the battle of Ragnarok only then was sent back in time to where he ended up encountering Atreus as teenager but he was already a world serpent. When I first watched playthroughs of the game I kept replaying that part because I was confused. I had only known that Jormungandr was a creature that was a child of Loki and Angrboda in their mythologies. Hearing 19:35 - 19:50 makes it all the more clearer to me now Lmao.
I don't follow. If the snake got sent back in time while fighting Thor, didit get small again? Did the giant soul get separated from the body? You'd think if there was some time loop shenanigans, sending the giant snake back in time would mean he stays a giant snake.
When I played gow 1st time I saw this and was like I ain't fighting that no way and I closed the game then i returned hours later to realise that it was just a boring aah convo
As the guy above said, Jormungandr is absolutely massive, long enough to wrap around the whole world, I don't think Godzilla can do much against that XDDD
from a mythical creature became just a serpent, look at the snake confusing face, wtf I'm doing here for literally,.. 😳 developer nowadays doesn't have imagination..
No it isn’t. Read the comment that says spoilers below, as it has the correct information (we see the events from that comment happen in God of War: Ragnorök
Recognizing Ragnarok as the best game of all time is a big mistake, according to voting it is even better than the game of 2018. Ragnarok is a soulless linear commercial LGBT game. without Corrie Barlog's direction, it feels like a half-assed job. Sweetbabying special thanks.
