Just a fun fact I wanted to point out for all you Blood Angel players. Did you know Mephiston is on the front cover of the new BA codex? If you want to find him yourself STOP READING and come back in a minute. At the bottom there is an assault intercessor on the left firing at the right side of the cover and above the muzzle flash is the Silhouette of Mephiston.
Quick maths. From deep strike 3 plasma inceptors prob do 12W on a T7 3+ vehicle. However thats with descent of angels and getting re rolls of 1 from a capt etc. 3 Eradicators with their assault weapons do 14W with no buffs...(although to even get close to an inceptors mobility you'd have to put them in reserve). Inceptors will do better against infantry units of 6 or more in the squad due to blast. Inceptors have a bit more utility and better mobility, but need more support whilst Eradicators are much better tank hunters with much less support.

A bit late on this. Getting into Blood Angels a lot the last month or so. If i were to have a dedicated Melta would I be better off running 3-5 Eradicators or a 3 man squad of Attack Bikes with Melta's now? I know they compete in different catagories of fast vs heavy but if i had to choose one over the other?
Thanks for the vid! The maths back up what everyone is thinking - GW overpowered these whilst nerfing other options to make us all buy their new shinies (I still will, begrudgingly though) Wouldd've been interesting to add in the gladiator variants and maybe grav devs?
Eradicators were BROKEN in 8th, they are still excellent in 9th. They should be in every Space Marine list. With Blood Angels, they are EVEN BETTER; because you can get them in range of what you want disappeared off the board.
I'm tentatively including two squads in my 2k list, but I significantly fear they're going to get nerfed heavily (either removal of double shoot and/or pts increase). They're just pretty overwhelming for firepower and cost. It raises an interesting question about balancing ranged firepower with melee for BA. Being so low in pts cost they really give us more room for melee. Could las fusil eliminators replace them if they got a big pts nerf? Or, in theory, a gladiator lancer?
I did a video on the Gladiator a few weeks back they were nowhere near as good as the eradicators! I think a squad of 5 would be perfect or maybe 2 squads of 3.

Are they good, yes. Are they great, depends on what they're shooting at. Fighting a lot of vehicles and monsters, they will put in work. Fighting horde armies, overpriced unit killing 6-8 point models Do I think they are the best shooting support unit, no. They lose value when shooting at anything with less than 3 wounds. As a BA player, if we're relying on shooting to win our battles then we should be looking to start an Ironhands or Imperial Fists army. Don't get me wrong, against the right target this unit will shred. However, a good, and often times decent, opponent will limit what this unit is shooting at. Add in the more dense tables and terrain and you can limit this unit.
That’s true about any shooting unit. In my list which I’m on a 7 game win streak I’m using 700 points of shooting in a BA army, 300 points of troops and the rest CC.
@@ba_commander very true. I think the list you've been using in your batreps is great. That tank puts in work and your list is very unique, I also love your use of the veteran unit. Every army should have some form of shooting capability. Keep up your great work!
@@ba_commander Both. Against them it seems like the amount of shooting to get rid of them is higher than I would like. For my Necrons anyways, for the 9th Legion its just getting something in melee then they suffer critical existence failure. Assuming the would be killers dont get vaporized on the way in. With them it makes enemy vehicles seem so... pointless.
