Thank you for this. What strikes me is that all these featured people seem mentally astute. My brother has PPMS. For me his worst problem is his brain. You speak about planning, but he can't plan. He can't predict outcomes, his judgement is dreadful, he's impulsive and I have to watch him all the time. He recently threw out most of his clothes because it seemed a good idea at the time. He has been fired from his online teaching portal (he has a masters degree and was previously a university lecturer), he has made no preparation for his old age, he has squandered everything and now he lives with us. The state grant in this country is around 125 USD a month, which is not enough to feed him. I'm feeling overwhelmed.

I’ll live in the United states in the state of Georgia. I lost my job at age 52 and I. I found it really challenging to find another job. At that time I had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for about 14 years. I had a three fold problem. I was over 50, no degree, and I had a disability. I pinpointed where I wanted to work and what exact position. I stayed focused on that position and that employer and looked all over the nearby cities until I found the position that was open and where I was hired. It took about three months… Not very long really! I can’t remember back exactly but I think I was very honest and divulged my multiple sclerosis as well. I don’t think that’s always the best thing to do. I have been working in the role now for five years and it’s perfect for me. It’s a Office job air conditioning heating and I haven’t had any major disturbances with my disability.

I have PPMS and I’m trying to deal with it… Some Days are better than others and like Forrest Gump would say” That’s all I have to say about that”

Great people what about those of the MS'es who have no health Inus? This is nothing more then Union proproganda, my union job laid me off over a year ago, I have no income, no medical help, verge of losing a home and everything else, where are the donations going ?

ThePennygirl I’m so sorry, I’m barely hanging on myself, please stay strong and don’t be afraid to reach out to family and friends or local agencies to get the help you need. Don’t be too proud to apply for SSI and any other disability benefits you can get and emergency help, food stamps, apply for everything now, before you have no home. Look for a local disability expert to advocate for you. Good luck to you!
