Haven't gotten far in the video, but there is something I want to compliment this moment. So often, new players don't understand the vocabulary that has come from the long history of this game. For example, and this one comes up often, telling a player to mill 2. New players reaction: ".......what?" Off the bat, you do something very important in this deck tech. You not only explained what "podding" is, you also said WHY, which is the true reason new players get so confused. They don't know where the term comes from, or the why. The combination of explaining both what it means and why that term is used is a very critical part of helping players understand the extensive vocabulary used with this game. Well done!

Slight rules mistake here Bramble sovereign actually makes toke with cmc. All copy tokens have cmc in fact and thats pretty neat

Worth noting, a token copy of a creature also copies that creature's CMC, so things like Bramble Sovereign or Fairy Artisans make tokens that you can pod into 1+ the creature's CMC, which could be better or could be worse.

Lightning Greaves is a nonbo with all the untap shenanigans the best version of this deck can create! Boots and Elixir are great, Greaves not so much :)

If you've got a more advanced database, you can basically return all lands you control to your hand holding priority with quirion ranger, and then roll out insane numbers of creatures, probably up to avenger hoof

You said 38 Damage but if you put the trigger from the first Behemoth first on the stack, then the bramble sovereign trigger, then renegade doppelganger, then you resolve the renegade, then the bramble putting another Behemoth on board and another Behemoth trigger on the stack, then you resolve both behemoth's triggers and get 45 Damage instead of 38!

And they shall call the deck "The high tide pod challenge deck" and there was much rejoicing.

Lightning Greaves doesn’t work with shroud.

I was playing with the idea of running this in a Bant build with Derevi. Imagine running Vannifar in Derevi with an Ashes of the Abhorrent. Now every time you sac something, you gain life. It shut off graveyard casting, so that's a down side to consider in the build, but most of the stuff in this build doesn't cast from the graveyard, it returns to hand, and that isn't affected by Ashes. Derevi already wants to flicker stuff, so all those ETB effects become even more relevant.

Just a quick question. Doesn't the Bramble sovreign copys have the manacost of the creature they are a copy of?

What i love most about this commander is the casuals are like "THIS IS CRAZY POWERFUL!" but you show them yisan who is stronger and they are like "meh your have to slowly build counters to cheat things out? to slow to be good" and your just like... BITCH WHAT!? XD plus the is other factors like yisan is super easy to get out on turn 2 where as vann you would need like sol ring turn one to get her out.

I love my vannifar deck but my friends never want to play against it. My one friend will just go on and on about how everyone needs to gang up on me but then will play his Jhoira of the Ghitu suspend deck and then cast Jokulhaups and all this other busted shit for free- like that's fun to play against. The worst part is that you can't even kill Jhoira before she suspends things because she doesn't tap to use her suspend ability. It's so goddamn annoying. People are funny. All my other decks are extremely fair, but I really just wanted a deck that could actually win games of commander because none of my other decks ever seem to win. Also just a note of information: I remember reading a novel once, I cant remember which one, where I saw the term "draught of ale." I read it as "drawt." It is actually the middle English spelling of "draft," (the 'gh' sound like 'f' as in the word 'enough'). I thought you and others would find this interesting just as I did. Tested this puppy out on xmage. Turn 4: as soon as prime speaker finds that first creature, it's literally game over (at least in 1v1). Too strong for my play group for sure, but god, I love it! I loved birthing pod decks so much when they first came out I was mesmerized by them... However in commander, it's got access to so many more busted things.... awesome.

God I hope this isn't on the next Game Knights episode... Judith, Nikya, and Teysa wouldn't be a match for this unless they ganged up on it from the start. No etiquette, no chances, just kill the Prime Speaker and start playing again. Lavinia might beat it if it goes full hate and stacks.

I got two Vannifars from prerelease packs and I am seriously thinking about getting into commander with her because I heard that's the best use for her, but my buddies don't play EDH. Though I wish there was some casual constructed deck with her going around. Anyone can point me right direction?

Nobody seems to be talking about how protean hulk pods into woodfall primus. When it dies you can grab melira or metallic mimic and also grab a trophy mage, which grabs ashnod’s altar. You can pretty consistently pod up from a two drop to that in a single turn. If you have some leftover tokens you can get thrasios or mindshrieker. That’s a win on turn five or six, depending on how lucky you get

Token copies of creatures have CMC 0 right? So only copying things without making token copies are useful unless you want to Pod a token into a 1 drop.

There are 2 creature cards that can help untap Vannifar at the 5 cmc slot, Chakram Retriever and Disciple of the Ring. The first one will untap a creature if you can cast a spell on that turn, and the second will untap a creature if you pay 1 and exile an instant or sorcery from your graveyard.

Bro, just a note at 9:21 there was a slight error. Token copies gain all of the copiable values from the original object including name, color, type, and mana cost, so a bramble sovereign token copy will not start the chain over but continue it like fate stitcher.

If you wonder about the price, all the deck in english is about 400€ in MKM.

i feel like this deck just screams for gutter grime. with all the non token sacrificing you'll be doing gutter grime will get ridiculous really fast.

Vannifar is kinda like a storm version of Yisan. She can go infinite really quickly if you have one of a few other cards in hand, but she doesn't really make your board any bigger since you're sac-ing the last creature you got to get the next creature, and she doesn't give you card advantage like Yisan does. She can get you infinite mana stupid fast but unless you have something to use it on then she doesn't really do anything on her own.

I'm very excited to see a Teysa Karlov deck tech and her Necroharmonicon effect abusing with cards like: Athreos, god of passage Kokusho, the evening star Vengeful Lich Lifeline Martyr's bond Grave pact And other aritocrat overpower stuffs. Please, show us how oppressive she can be. Att. R.

With Illusionist Bracers or Rings of Brighthearth is it basically sac 2 creatures and go look for a creature with +1 CMC for each, or is it Sac one creature and go look for two creatures with +1 CMC to it?

A few things I want to bring to attention (besides the fact that you did an amazing job with this): 1. Protean hulk can get the dryad arbor along with everything else, if I am remembering this correct. 2. Where is the seed guide Ashe??? Talk about something that gives you a sudden Mana boost! Then add in any amount of clone effects (of creatures on the board, entering the board, OR in graveyards) and the value train has pulled out of the station. 3. If you play into any of this commander's creature types (not like there are any good elves or wizards or oozes out there!) then you should probably heavily consider Faces of the Past. Now that one is a unique card that sees little play, but oh man do I think this deck loves it. Thanks for the simic love D.J.!

Podding tribal for the victory

Time to load up your Hushwing Gryffs, Torpor Orbs, Mindlock Orbs, Cursed Totems, Leonin Arbiters, and Aven Mindcensors Prospective Lavinia Players.

I’d consider adding momir vig and a bit more top of library manipulation that allow you to cast/play top of library before a shuffle (oracle of mul daya, courser of kruphix). Green flash effects are also really good in Simic because they keep your opponents guessing, and allow you to wait until end of previous player’s turn.

If you have 4 mana available while the behemoth is entering, if you decided to make the renegade a copy of the bramble, you pay 4 and get 2 behemoth tokens before the first ETB trigger from the very first behemoth resolves. So, i think, that is 69 minimum trampling damage.

How does Maze of Ith combo with the Commander Jumbo? We can't attack with tapped creatures so doesn't work with the Commander unless you are tapping an un tapper that has vigilance.

Posted before watching the video buuuut... a friend and I just started teching to go off with this deck as a modern-style "Does one thing, every game, as consistently as possible" deck. Curious how many of our pieces make it into this tech.....

A small little mistake you made: Tokens made with Bramble Sovereign actually have the same converted mana cost as their card counterparts. Trust me, as an avid Scarab God player I’ve had to look it up and explain it seven billion times.

People are really underestimating how much of a downside it is that she is strictly sorcery speed. Don't get me wrong, she is a strong Commander, but any instant speed removal lets you only get one activation out of her, if any. She is in no way strictly better than Yisan, and I think Yisan decks will still be a thing. She is great though, and can definitely be broken.

I can't believe I overlooked Thornbite Staff's rules, it says "whenever a creature is put into a graveyard", all this time I've been using it specifically with deathtouch creatures. If I had paid attention to what that rule means, I could've done so much more. As far as Vannifar, I'm totally putting her in Muldrotha on top of building one with her as the commander.

Wouldn't you be able to copy bramble sovereign instead of the craterhoof behemoth. And then use the double bramble triggers to put 2 craterhoof behemoths instead of 1 which will give two triggers instead of 1?

Prime Speaker a is very strong card. But I'm more excited about Judith, The Scourge Diva. She's more into my play style

I'm not a fan of toolbox commanders, but after watching this I really like this one! So many combo possibilities, which I think makes Prime Speaker Vannifar a fun combo commander!
